[jason once again appears on the locket network, this time appearing to actually be in one of the provided bedrooms of caer glaem. woah. he tugs idly at the collar of his shirt, new outfit helpfully provided by the fairies in place of his original t-shirt and jeans (those unfortunately all torn and dirty after the camping trip/worm hunt). it's a lot more fantasy than anything he's used to, but he's way too nice to complain about the clothes he was given for free.]
Hey. Just wanted to check in, I guess, before we head out again tomorrow. More exploring and all that.
[the hope, of course, is that they find something useful to the people stuck here, a way of getting home or something. getting a feel for the area and learning what kind of threats inhabited it was helpful too, though.]
It might be a bit useless right now, but I sort of made plans to eventually help someone learn to fight -- whenever we get back again, at least -- so I figured I might as well open the offer up to anyone else who's interested in it. I've got a lot of experience training people, and I'm used to teaching kids, so literally anyone is welcome. [a beat, where a hesitant look briefly crosses his face before he covers it back up with that cool, unshakeable praetor look.] Clarisse, if you wanna help out with that whenever it happens, I'd appreciate it.
[consider that a peace offering. or at least, an apology for accidentally arming your nemesis with a lethal weapon. he can think of no better way to appease clarisse than to give her the opportunity to show off her admittedly very impressive fighting skills.
that appears to be all he has to say for now, but he seems to fiddle with the locket for a moment before it cuts out for most people, working out how to send a message privately.]

[ he takes a step in, and thinks to follow the thread of small talk, but luke's finding himself growing all the more anxious, despite that blanket of relaxation momentarily wrapping him up. jason's a good fighter — he's one that can easily put luke down with a mere spark of electricity, where all luke can do is prank — so he figures it's best to get this over with. steamroll right ahead into that wave that's bound to crash into him and drown him. ] I don't know how much Clarisse yelled at you — [ he'd heard select words that hadn't quite left him as the sting of her slap has, but he has an idea it's skewed heavily in the direction of luke being a destructive and traitorous asshole who jason should strike with a fierce bolt of lightning. ] — but for what it's worth, I'm sorry you got the brunt of it.
[ and he finds he truly is. this isn't an act of manipulation on his part. he's sorry to percy, he's sorry to annabeth, he's sorry to thalia — he's sorry jason ended up seeing the angry and ugly face of war a few days ago because of him. backbiter isn't jason's fault; clarisse so much as stated the sword was dangerous in luke's hand, not jason's. ]

[it's a pretty weak attempt at keeping the mood light, especially given how actually unnerving it is to be the target of clarisse when she's really angry, but he tries anyway, closing the door behind luke in a bid for privacy. that doesn't really mean much when nico rarely uses doors and clarisse would never let one stop her if she really wanted, but at least nico is tactful enough to give them some space until they're done, and clarisse isn't likely to want to come anywhere near luke anytime soon.
he crosses the room again to sit heavily on the edge of the bed, and looks back up at luke with an uneasy expression.]
So...yeah.
