[Grainne appears on the locket, looking fairly put together, but here and there hints she is actually a little flustered.]

I... I am not sure how to ask a complete stranger, but perhaps this will do in lieu of an introduction...

My name is Grainne for those of you whom I have not yet had the fortune to encounter. I hail from a land called Eire. My reason for calling is this; I wish to learn the ways of a warrior.

[She pauses, her eyes off the locket for a moment, and takes a breath.]

I... I am looking for a teacher. I am not very suited to physical prowess and I know practically nothing about fighting, but it has become a truth for me that some offensive skill in this world is better than nothing at all.

I also wish to extend my magical abilities. I have minor skill in curses and potions already, but those things are not as suitable for defending or attacking.

If there is interest, I can make arrangements to trade for such training, if you wish.

[With a sigh and a look of relief, she closes her locket. It's done, now all she needs do is see what happens.]



[OOC: When Grainne says she's not suited, it actually means she is pretty darned terrible at it. She will likely frustrate any weapons teacher she has and probably stab them by accident, JUST WARNING YOU.]

So! Let's see what I have to work with here. What kind of curses can you cast already?

Geises. Sometimes they come out better if I am concentrating on the nature of the target.

[individualist]

["Geises" ugh. She kind of. Visibly reacts to that, and not in a good way, but she moves on from it quickly enough.]

Well, those are probably more complicated than what I'll be teaching you at first...elemental manipulation's pretty basic, casting wise at least. I don't think you'll have much trouble considering your geises are pretty ancient stuff, and that tends to be more complicated.

After that we can move onto other things.

Geises have been a tradition in my family. [Grainne makes note of the reaction, and files it away in her head.]

I would be glad to learn those things. If they are as easy as you say, I look forward to trying my hand at them.

Well, we can start as soon as you're ready...we'll just need some place to actually do it. Do you know anywhere we could meet up for this?

I am planning on visiting the Station at the beginning of next month. Will that do? It is said to be neutral and welcome to everyone.

[Then, she speaks in a quieter voice, as if to herself,] I've heard there are many marvels from the future there.

CRAWLS BACK FROM HIATUS...

I think that'll do just fine. From what I can tell it should be alright - I played chess with someone from Seelie there, and there weren't any problems.

[Marvels from the future though...

That gets a quiet laugh out of her, amused.]

Maybe we'll even have some time left over to browse your technological marvels, if you'd like.

I would! I have only heard bits and pieces of such things, it will be good to see them.

[Really, Grainne couldn't be more pleased at the idea. New things, magic or not, kept life from getting too boring.]
