[The brown haired girl who's in view right now can't possibly be more than seventeen or so, with a uniform that definitely looks out of place compared to her surroundings. Before she says anything, she moves a finger to her hair and curls a lock of it thoughtfully.
Eventually, she speaks.]
So uh, Hey.
[Places her hand back down, huffing.]
I gotta be honest, I don't really have anything cool or interesting to say but...I felt like I really ought to introduce myself, especially seeing people I saw at that big feast doing the same.
So...I'm Hikaru. I was in Tokyo before I came here, I'm big into occult stuff and I like talking to people. Yeah, three things sounds good, doesn't it?
If you've got time to kill, you should say hi. I think in a situation like this it's good to know people, and I'm more than willing to talk a few ears off.
[She almost ends it there, before deciding to add on one last thing.]
Oh, uh, one thing now that I think about it...there aren't any Angels here, are there? I know that's really specific, but I've had a few bad experiences with them before I got here, so I'd rather know so I can keep my distance. No offense or anything if you are one; blame the ones launching ICBMs in the name of God or whoever. They're giving you a bad rep.
[Sure did say that super casually.]
Guess that's it. So, by-or, uh. Should I be more formal to fit in? "Good evening" I guess.

[And she can't help but giggle at the very idea.]
But you're right; maybe I'm just worrying for nothing. With such a disadvantage, they wouldn't be too much of a threat.
[Doesn't really believe that though.]

Are Angels not human, then?

[...although. Maybe she should clarify a little more.]
Not unlike the kinds of things you'd find here. Magic and stuff.

[It sounded like she'd have an easier time fitting in around here than he did, at least. Saying they were like things around here just made them all the more a mystery.]

[Really, most people understood the concept, or at least the whole supernatural aspect of it. So this is a tough one.]
It's like...there are a ton of Angels, alright? Like an army. It has hierarchies, with the ones up top being fewer in number but stronger and having independence. The ones on the bottom are numerous, but...they're almost like robots. They just do what they're told.
And the guy up top, at the highest point...we'll call him 'God'. He's the one running the show. Everything below Him...they're like extensions of His will, given physical form. They take orders from Him and carry them out.
They're also sustained by belief. The more people who believe in and pray to Angels and God, the stronger they are - their appearance also depends on the person talking to them, depending on what an Angel is to that person. It can be beautiful, or hideous, or something in between...but their real forms are abstract. I couldn't even explain them to you.
And they have powers, kind of like the things native here. Some of the strongest ones...well, moving entire planets by themselves isn't out of the question. And that's not even some of the more impressive stuff they can pull off.

I knew something similar back home. The Reapers. They existed whether or not anyone believed in them, however.
[The council tried really hard to pretend they didn't exist, until they started flooding in through the mass relays. Being machines, there was little fear of them showing up in the drabwurld. These Angels were another thing altogether, though.]
They sound like a formidable enemy.

[She gives a light laugh, presumably at what she says next.]
Actually, being hard to kill and working out of sight, I guess you could compare them to really annoying bugs. That a better comparison for you?

Accurate enough. Even the smallest variable can change the outcome of an event or battle. You mentioned Tokyo - that is an Earth city, correct?
sorry this is late! im still trying to pick up all my threads from before christmas hiatus
I don't quite know why but...every time something big goes on involving Angels or Demons, it's usually there.
no worries!
