[The brown haired girl who's in view right now can't possibly be more than seventeen or so, with a uniform that definitely looks out of place compared to her surroundings. Before she says anything, she moves a finger to her hair and curls a lock of it thoughtfully.

Eventually, she speaks.]

So uh, Hey.

[Places her hand back down, huffing.]

I gotta be honest, I don't really have anything cool or interesting to say but...I felt like I really ought to introduce myself, especially seeing people I saw at that big feast doing the same.

So...I'm Hikaru. I was in Tokyo before I came here, I'm big into occult stuff and I like talking to people. Yeah, three things sounds good, doesn't it?

If you've got time to kill, you should say hi. I think in a situation like this it's good to know people, and I'm more than willing to talk a few ears off.

[She almost ends it there, before deciding to add on one last thing.]

Oh, uh, one thing now that I think about it...there aren't any Angels here, are there? I know that's really specific, but I've had a few bad experiences with them before I got here, so I'd rather know so I can keep my distance. No offense or anything if you are one; blame the ones launching ICBMs in the name of God or whoever. They're giving you a bad rep.

Oh, not like that. I mean cover up their involvement; obviously wiping out a city isn’t going to be easy to cover up.

Still, good to know…although I’m not sure any of them would end up in Unseelie. Too orderly.

Fallen angels might. But I don't claim to really have a great knowledge of human religion.

Ah, let's see...if I remember right, America. They had someone pretending to be an Ambassador from there who said he was behind all of it on behalf of his government.

None of that seems like very angel-like behavior.

Well, Angels aren't really all that great to begin with.

But when you're in control of things, you can write your own narrative. The fact is they're amoral and ruthless. Some of them are even been pretty self-serving.

And their God's the worst of all of them.

[ Shijima is hardly going to judge. She wasn't lying when she said her knowledge of human religion is more superficial than anything. Angels = good is like the extent of her angelic lore knowledge. ]

God? What has the God in your world done? Did he do something to you in specific?

It’s not really about me, it’s about everyone. The kind of person God is…

In His ideal world, people wouldn’t think. They wouldn’t question. They’d exist just to worship Him for eternity. Anyone who steps outside of that, they’re just done away with, and that can mean things far worse than being killed.

Even you Shijima, even as someone He’s never met, He’d do away with you too just because you aren’t human. There’s no room for anything He doesn’t want.

You can see why I wouldn’t think highly of someone like that.

But I get your meaning. So what are you doing about it?

[Unfortunately, God's very creative with his punishments. It's entirely possible that it'd be some form of eternal punishment, like a string of endless, shitty reincarnations.

No, what Shijima wants is different and something that, if she had the full extent of her powers, Hikaru could totally offer to her.

But none of that's really important to bring up, so while she does think it over briefly before responding, she decides against mentioning it. Best to just play dumb like she always does.]

Anyway, I guess I just spread the message, tell them the truth. If they still want to stick with God then that's their choice, but I don't associate with people like that. Anyone who stays willfully ignorant or blind to the faults in what they believe in...they're not usually worth it.

[Which is kind of hypocritical, considering she thinks Social Darwinism is flawless and has no drawbacks.]

Do you think that the Gods of other worlds are any better than yours?

It depends on the God.

I only refer to Him as God because he took it on as a title in his arrogance, but truth be told, countless "gods" exist. Most of them are better options.

But people should worship who they want; monopolizing that isn't something I support.

We don't have that sort of thing.

Well, I have no interest in worshipping anyone.

That's fine too...for everyone to have the freedom to make choices like that, it's all I want.

[Although how much work that'd take on her part varies from world to world, of course.]

That's a rare attitude to have, you know. Your interest in the freedom to choose. You don't even mind my choices.

Freedom's just something people take for granted; you have to lack it to really appreciate it.

I had a very...controlling family. Especially my Dad.

Had. So you don't, any longer. And it makes you want freedom for others. How admirable.

Something like that. My Dad eventually kicked me out of the family for being such a pain in the butt, but it was better in the long run, for what I've been saying this whole time. I preferred living away from Him and my brother.

So if you had to choose, you'd choose to have the same thing happen over again? If you could pick between being cast away and not being cast away.

Oh, that's easy! I want Seelie done away with.

Unlike most people I have no problem picking sides, and I'm content with the court I was put in. I want to do my very best for them.
