I'm afraid a mistake has been made. As I understand it, it's the Seelie court which should seek my loyalty, and yet I have found myself among the Unseelie. I intend no offence to members of either court, nor disloyalty to the court I have been placed with, yet it is a perplexity. Simply put, I am left to wonder if this was indeed the intent and there has been no confusion, or if my own confusion is sound. It's...troubling, for reasons I apologise for not detailing.

Similarly, I'm looking for a friend, most likely among the Seelie, if present. He's about seventeen, Japanese, and you'll know him for a foolish innocence and investment in justice. Better still, being terribly easily flustered.

[Giving a name would be better, and it does make it apparent this friend is his Master, to anyone in the know, but it is still even just a little bit safer to keep Tatsumi's name secret. He can't jeopardise the boy's safety.]

Ah, one more thing. I'm a doctor, therefore if anyone is ever in need of medical attention, I am always available, particularly for those outside the courts who may not have access to their infirmaries. I should note, however, my practice may not be up-to-date for some. Although I do promise I don't suck. [He laughs lightly.] -That's right, a name would be helpful, wouldn't it? I suppose it's best to continue with Berserker for now, although I am aware there is another by the name. If that name holds meaning to you, I believe it's important we speak. Perhaps more privately.

[His name doesn't hold any meaning to her, though she's heard of berserkers before. The Dingwall clan was mostly famous for having berserker blood, so she's only mildly intrigued by his name. Still, she hums a little, tilting her head.]

Mam told me about faeries when I was a wee lass. Seelie or Unseelie, both are as bad as th' other.

Do such creatures and magic exist, where you come from? I had only heard of fairies in stories, as a child, largely.

[Though there is of course classic literature and theatre, for the adults. And magic is a different story entirely.]

There's a witch that lives in a cottage in th' woods past th' stone circle, an' I've seen will o th' wisps once or twice in my life.

[She pauses.]

There's also a demon bear that's been hauntin' th' lands since before I was born, though I only recently found out he wasn't always a bear.

How fascinating! Then, those magical creatures are largely dangerous, or even 'evil' beings? I suppose you must then be well prepared for this place. That's some luck.

Well, we've always considered Mor'du dangerous. My father's taken him on before an' lost his leg for it.

Will o th' wisps supposedly lead you to your fate an' some of th' ones here led me out of La Llorona when I was on a quest. [Merida shrugs.] I've been taught sword an' bow fightin' since I was a wee lass, so I suppose I'm prepared.

[Though the fear dogs had thrown her off by miles.]

Then Will-o-the-wisps must be neutral, the nature of your fate is something more internal. Those sound very interesting! Of course, I have heard of them, years ago, yet that they should exist here is rather exciting.

Your father, though, he must be quite the brave man! Did you learn your skills from him?

Aye, I figured as such myself. They led me away from Mor'du when I was a little girl back tae my family, when dad lost his leg.

[She's spent the last couple of months piecing the events of her life together and mulling over he past. At his comment on her father, she beams.]

We don't call him th' Bear King for nothin', an' aye, he taught me with th' idea that even a princess needs tae fight.

--Ah, forgive me my rudeness, Your Highness! I had no idea at all! Your own daring becomes all the more impressive. Indeed, your people must greatly admire and love you well.

[Merida giggles a little bit at his expense. She's starting to like people finding out about her status afterwards.]

It's alright, just call me Merida. I don't hold my title to any importance here. [Not when she's just a princess compared to some of the queens around.] I'm just a swordswoman. But thank ye. Your words are kind.

If- if you are entirely certain, Miss.

[He starts going for 'Merida' on the 'M', but falters, into something more comfortable.]

They are not simply words, I assure you. You would be something of a knight, then?

[Oh gosh. Her cheeks burn a little at the 'miss', though it quickly fades.]

Aye. Well, I'm learnin' at least. My swordsmanship isn't as good as my archery.

[She lifts her sword, still in its scabbard.]

I was given this recently, as a boon. [Merida pauses.] I had some...unfortunate circumstances happen last month, an' I wanted tae learn tae protect myself better.

[He nods.] Though a bow is effective in a war, or hunting, I would imagine for personal protection it leaves something to be desired. I can see you're attempting to be humble, but it's really all the more impressive. To answer trouble with such determination.

[She inclines her head in return, pink returning to her face.]

Mnh. Thank ye for sayin' so. I wouldn't be doin' my clan proud unless I did anythin' but.

I'm certain they must be full of such pride for you, all the more so when they see how you've grown in your time here!

[He can't help smiling all the more for her embarrassment, either. Knights and things are just so great.]

[Gods above you're going to make her blush more than Lancer does. Though it is relieving to hear considering the illusions the fear dogs showed her.]

An' you as well, Berserker. I'm sure your friend thinks as highly of you as you do him.

[Sorry, flattery is the right thing to do here. When speaking to one above your station... Besides that he does truly mean it.]

My friend? Ah- [Right he was talking about Tatsumi in the post.] I admire him very much, I wish to be the same sort of person. Or at least one worthy of being his ally.

[But, what he did in that forest would lose his Master's trust for sure. Keeping it from him is all the worse.]

Yet I fear he must think me horrid. He is simply too good.
