Video | Both Courts
[ When the video starts it is to a burst of laughter and calls for 'More!' - this is a tavern, somewhere in Cothromach, perhaps, considering the number of dwarves visible.
There is a minstrel seated by the fire, silver harp in his lap, and he swigs back a drink that has obviously just been passed to him in reward for his last song to roars of approval. The silver eight-rayed-star on his cloak may be familiar, although his features are curiously a little blurred, as if hard to hold on to in the flickering light. But his voice now - his voice is probably very familiar to some. ]
Well now good sirs, another is it? And what would you have of me? Joy or sorrow, war or peace?
Sing us something to get us laughing, boyo!
[ He bows in thought and then smiles ]
Ah, then, this one perhaps might suit, considering recent events eh?
[ And he launches into a rolling rollicking tune with a very familiar subject ]
Oh the world will talk of a ruddy fox
Across all time and space
And not because / o’ his fearsome claws
Or punch-attracting face
The monarchs try / to win their war
and finally take the day
But that damn fox / with all his plots
keeps trying to get his way
As popular as a mangy rat
He’s sure he’s so much better than that
Reynard, that phony king in Eachdraaaidh
A pox on that / phony king in Eachdraaaidh
Grabbin’ at a throne / to call his own
Pretendin’ he’s the king
[stage whispered:](We’d rather shove him / in a box)
(and out a fairy ring)
He throws an / angry tantrum
if he cannot have his way
Moans o’er his shard / ‘cause life’s so hard
then allies does betray
He’d like to think that he’s the first
but we all know he’s just the worst
A pox on that / phony king in Eachdraaaidh
He kidnaps all / our dearest friends
And robs us from our beds
but mark, we’ll yet / collect that debt
and crush that fucker dead
We’ll party hard / and party long
when that damned fox is gone
but until then / through mount and glen
we’ll sing this catchy song
So sing it loud and sing it long
Let nobody forget this song!
The scurvy’d, fleabit phony king in Eachdraidh
The snivellin’ grovellin’ / measly weasely
blabberin’ jabberin’; /gibbering jabberin’
blunderin’ plottin’ / wheelin’ dealin’
Reynard! That phony king in Eachdraaaidh
[ ooc: with thanks to Waver-mun & Kaldur-mun, who wrote this. And yes, Mags is going tavern to tavern and singing this ]

I suppose we shall see! Here, at least, in Cothromach, they seem greatly appreciative. They are fond of the Lady Keeper here, and she is a Shardbearer. What its reception might be in other places I have yet to discover.
Video
[Maybe they didn't mean it like that, but he thought it applied.]
I have never been to Cothromach.
Video
I like it. [ Maglor shrugs ] The Dwarven folk are sensible and well grounded, even in a world such as this, and the Lady Keeper is pleasant and seems an intelligent young lady. I cannot stay, but I mean to enjoy the time I spend here.
Video
You are quite close to enemy territory. [Also not something that concerned him. This was a war only when it suited the damn monarchs.] A pity you are not staying. Treun is not so far that I could join you later.
Video
Guess who picked the two most dangerous spots to build their castles in back in the day - Mags and Mae, that's who]I could stay a while. [ he offers ] Muscovy likes it here, and the Lady Keeper has requested my aid in finding her a suitable instrument, or at least a craftsman of suitable skill to make one for her.
Video
Prime real estate always had drawbacks.]She is making good use of your talents, then. But do not linger on my account - I do not know how long I intend to stay in Treun.
[Long enough to find some answers, he hoped. Besides, he had another errand to run elsewhere.]
I will need to return to the Station soon. I believe we have lost the doctor.
Video
Not so sure about prime in Maedhros' case, unless you LIKE icy winters on cold windswept mountains?]Mm, I do not mind. She seems a sensible young lady. I will linger as long as she wishes me too - I will let you know when I leave.
[ News of house brings a fall to his face and he breathes out sadly ]
I... confess to not being surprised - I had heard nothing from him of late, and normally he would be calling me to make sure I was not... 'doing anything stupid' after a broadcast like this one. Our companions are slowly whittling away eh? Perhaps the Queen finds us too troublesome to control. [ The ex-assassin who outright demanded to be released from her service, the Genie who tied himself to Maglor, the doctor who insulted her and walked out ]
Will you take his Cleg? I would, but I fear Hiswafan would be most jealous.
Video
Hey, that sort of place was someone's cup of tea!Whatever small amount of amusement that had been on his face faded back into a scowl.]He was last seen shortly after Samhain. When I am done here, I intend to inspect his room at the Station to confirm it. As it stands, you and I are all that remain.
[He hesitated, taking a moment to adjust his cloak as the wind picked up.]
The Ariadne human and I had hoped you would help move it to Caer Scima. I do not know what to do with a cleg.
[THANKS DAUD.]
Video
Aye. I only hope he is happier at home now than he was here. My... I have not heard from Celegorm since Samhaim either.
[ He nods quietly ] I would be honored to help.
Video
And yet the halls of Caer Scima and Caer Glaem are full of newly arrived Shardbearers. Even death is preferable to being trapped in this insane world. Your brother has not fared well here.
I will contact you when we have the time. Until then, we can only hope the stable hands will continue to care for it without its owner.
Video
I... still hold some hope, for it is like him to go wandering for a while without leaving word, but... it grows fainter with every day. At the least... if he was home... [ Then he is safe in Mandos, with the rest of us says Curufin softly ]
I am sure they will, and yes. Let me know.
Video
As I said, better than here. With so many of your kin here, perhaps you will be the next to leave this place and rejoin them.
[Leaving him as the last, a fact that wasn't lost on him in the least.]
Your experience will be most welcome. I plan to be back in Caer Scima before the end of the year. If I am correct in my assumption, Athame will soon have a litter.
Video
[ A quiet shrug ] I do find it interesting that of our group, tis us who have the least to lose by remaining who are still here.
[ He brightens at that ]
Truly? Ah, congratulations! I will have to make sure to be there as well then. Do you know how many pups she is expecting?
Video
[It made sense, in a backwards sort of way. The congratulations confused him, but he didn't comment on it. He'd had as little to do with the entire affair as possible, thank you very much.]
No, I do not. Varren spread rapidly on colony worlds, however, suggesting more than a few. I have left Prativ at the kennels as well. You may visit them if you arrive before me.
Video
I will make sure to do so if I do, aye. Have you given thought to the pups?
Video
Like the bearskin cloak he was wearing? He wore it to stay warm, but was still concerned it was just going to turn him into a bear at any moment, moonlight or not.]
I have not. I cannot spend my time caring for them or raising them, so they will have to have new owners.
[Please take one.]
Video
Mm, have you considered putting out a locket post? There are those who might be happy to accept a pup. I would not mind assissting myself, they seem delightful creatures - but I will ask your help in training them!
Video
When they are born, I may do just that. I would like to know how many I am dealing with before offering them. They are not unlike the canines in the court, but if you wish to have you, I will assist you.
[Only because he liked Maglor. Everyone else was on their own with the little garbage disposals.]
Video
Wise. [ Maglor nods ] And I would refuse neither a pup nor your aid, my friend.
Video
When the time comes, you will be the first to know. Once I leave Treun, I will contact you again to discuss moving the doctor's cleg.
Video
Thank you - I will keep an ear open for your call. [ chiming ] Or well, Sketto will. She seems to have taken it upon herself to be keeper of my locket.
Video
Sketto?
Video
Video
Then I will know who to blame if you are unreachable.
[He wasn't really joking. Giving his locket to a fairy? That couldn't end well.]
Video
She says, [ Maglor translates in amusement ] That she knows better how to use the lockets than I, considering I use them so seldom.
