[ Vol'jin had woken up with aches and pains all over, his mouth full of what he could only assume was the flavor of whatever poor unfortunate thing had crawled into his mouth and died there. He felt like ass. His shoulder hurt more than it had in months, and he was exhausted. So much for having a restful night.

...Or however long it had really been.

So, excuse his disheveled appearance, lace of face paint and disarrayed hair. He's still a bit out of it. Rubbing at the inside corner of one eye with his thumb, he speaks before picking up the steaming mug of whatever that is nearby. It had partially obscured a plate full of very picked clean bones, a few bread crumbs and a couple slices of as-of-yet-uneaten cheese. He sniffed loudly. ]

What'd I miss?

[ --And takes a drink. Forgive his brevity, Caer Scima; he's been through a great deal in the last week. It's wearing on him.

Please tell him he didn't miss the feast, though; he still feels like he could eat the entire banquet by himself. ]

I got a note from the Fox. He took Alice, did ya know? When'd that happen?

[ Well, it's far too late to do anything about it NOW, but he doesn't know when this came or how long he's been gone. But there's none of the threatened body parts sitting around his room, so he's sitting here with a threat and literally not a single clue what to do with it. ]

How sad they must be, to be no longer unique. [Not all deal well finding others like themselves. She is both comforted by it, and repelled, in the same breath. Luckily she has not found someone similar here, yet.

His other sentence, however, gives her pause.]

[ Well, he's already done the disoriented flailing off camera, and nobody was around to tape his wounds opening or anything, so. But yeah, he's evidently been up for a while today. It gave him time to recover.

Vol'jin nods, looking tired, but one side of his mouth quirks up in a half smile. ]

Dunno if I'd call it a nap. Usually, ya less tired after a nap. More like, 'passed out for a week and went somewhere else.'

Actually, things have kind of settled down. No more crazy dog stuff which means everyone can finally relax for a bit. Although there was some crazy rescue mission with some stranded people on a ship in the middle of it, but— [More importantly.]

You actually came in good time. Just in time for the holiday season. Tons of ice and snow and fun times. [aka Jack season.]

[ At that, he sort of turns the mug around and takes a good look at it, tilting his head first one way, and then the other (because he really can't tilt the mug without it spilling). Clearly, he wasn't aware of that information. ] Hm.

[ Then he turns it back around properly, so he can use the handle. He takes a sip and then admits: ]

It is a nice color, [ she agrees. ] Probably better than Monopoly itself -- that game makes people vicious.

He looks at the mug again, pondering it. ]

They're nice. They all be about the same size, an' easy to clean. Nice little handles.

There are- thoughts. It is being worked on, though I do not know that any plan other than his ransom will truly work. And even that may not.

Only my own, for now. We were able to track her, but they are gone and now do not seem to be staying in one place for any length of time.

There is to be a meeting. I will update you afterward, though I expect there will be little consensus.
