[ Han is still staring at the ‘screen’ of the locket like this is the most ridiculous piece of tech he has seen in his entire life. Still, his voice is confident, and beyond the general expression of disgusted disbelief, there are hints of worry in the way his lips thin. ]

So, apparently, there are no space-ready or functional craft, and even if there were, there is no telling where in the Galaxy we even are. [ Assuming, of course, they would be in the galaxy that Han knows. Which he is beginning to suspect is not the case. ]

So here’s a better question… What’s the best craft available for transport, and what… business is there, to be doing.

[ Chewie’s not here, the kid’s not here, Leia’s not here, his blaster doesn’t work. Hell, he’d even take old Kenobi or even Greedo over most of this crowd. Better the devil he knows.

And, all right, he kinda breaks at this and has to ask. ]

Also, honestly, how do so many of you folks not know that light has a speed, and space travel is not difficult. Really.

By that question, I'm going to assume there exists no method of "both" travel.

[ Seriously, guys, step up the game on making hover-vehicles. All this land and sea business is gonna drive Han insane. ]

In which case, I suppose I'll need both methods available, as much as I hate swapping craft.

A craft capable of both sea and land travel is not commonly found within fae land. Though with the proper resources and the right contacts, one may have such a craft created.

Though knowing the ones that may be capable of it as I do, compensation will be quite high.

I am uninterested in monetary compensation. I cannot speak for those capable of creating your craft, though I suspect precious gems would appeal to at least one of them. What I can do, once you give me your name, is speak with these people. Should your request be within their considerable abilities, I shall introduce you to them and allow you to handle negotiations personally.

All I ask in return is a favor of similar magnitude sometime in the future should I need one. If your request is something they cannot do, you shall owe me nothing. It may take some time before I am able to speak fully with them on this topic. I do not promise expediency.

[ Now all Han has to do is figure out how he's gonna get some money in the first place. But if it's gonna take a while, anyways, that's not the biggest concern.

Not that Han is all that big on owing people 'favors', but he admires a keen player when he sees one, and this 'Saber' definitely knows her stuff. ]

[It was a good thing conversations over these amulets cannot be erased. Though in the past, Saber may have taken Han's word about the favor, she knows now that having the proof of an agreement in a format like this gives her cause to run him through should she uphold her end but he skips out on his side.

Not even being a scruffy nerfherder will help him if she sense betrayal.]

Do you have anything very specific regarding the craft itself that you would like me to mention up front?

[ All business, then. Han respects that. ]

Discrete cargo storage is necessary, and I'd prefer it were a sizeable hold as well, though I'll not expect miracles.

[ Han never goes south on a deal if he can help it. It's bad for reputation. ]

That does answer the question I had regarding size.

I shall see what they have to say then. Once my conversations bear fruit, be they ripened or spoiled, I will contact you privately over this amulet. Is that acceptable?

You are welcome, Captain. I saw no reason to ignore you, especially when you seem to have some... trouble adapting to the fae lands. And it is far better to make a deal with one of us than with the fae. Your wording need not be as precise.

So the fae are like Hutts. [ snarling, nasty, can twist you leftways and rightways through a contract, and unfortunately smart and stupid in all the worst of ways. ]

I will keep that in mind.

[At least Saber's intelligent enough to assume a Hutt is a kind of being wherever Han is from and not a patchwork dwelling made out of sticks, leaves and mud.]

That would be for the best. Though whatever methods your Hutts use, add magical compulsion and binding to it and you may have a more well-rounded view on fae dealings. The geass is a common tool for them when dealing with mortals.

So a Hutt plus if Jedi nonsense was real. [ Life is just gonna be a walk in a park, aint it? ] The geass, I'm assuming, is the thing that compels you and binds you to things.

Nice to know we've been dragged some place so friendly-like.

It is.

The other side of the coin when dealing with the fae is that if they deem they need you or, more importantly, like you, you will be showered with gifts and blessings. They can be staunch allies... as long as it is in their best interests and especially if they have given their word on a matter.

Definitely Hutts. [ The thought of that makes Han's skin crawl. He understands sticking with someone for the profit value—hell, he's done it himself hundreds of times—but there is something altogether unpleasant about being liked by someone dangerous to you because it so suits their interests. Sets off all sorts of alarms in his head, and not-so-welcome reminders of how things stand between him and Jabba right now. ] Y'know, those kinds of gifts are often the most dangerous.

[That gets a dry laugh out of Saber.]

I know that all too well.

Kinda sucks that they really aren't the sort you can refuse, either.

[ Saber is... interesting, to Han's mind. It's clear she's rather stiff and professional, but there's a shared knowledge of the sorts of things Han thinks of as 'smuggler gifts', the kind of knowledge you only get when you skate along the edge of the law, and deal with people that sane folks don't do unless they are just that desperate.

She likely couldn't have gotten it there, given how stiff she is, but it is definitely something he'll be keeping an eye on. ]

[Her knowledge comes from another source altogether as she had been the law at one point in her existence and never failed to not deliver proper justice. It gave her an uncanny insight into the minds of criminals. And, well, then there is that whole magi war she was brought into with the one master that didn't follow conventional rules.]

Or you possess the hubris to believe you are the one in control.

[ Han thinks on that for a moment, and his face moves a little closer to shock and then something between derision and pity. ]

Poor suckers. I'm amazed those sorts of people even last long enough to make those sorts of mistakes.

[ A bloated smuggler was a dead one, and even the very best knew there were forces to work around and avoid whenever possible. ]

Some have an uncanny knack of escaping unfavorable situations.

[ Han is one of those people with uncanny knacks for escaping unfavorable situations, and he's not all that ashamed to admit it. But even with that, he's still smart about how and with whom he does his business. ]

I guess the real wonder of the universe is how long some idiots just keep living.

The universe, it would seem, has a unique sense of humor.

[ Han would contradict that, but then again, look at his life, look at his choices. Look at where he is now. Hell, maybe Old Kenobi was onto something with that Force business. ]

I've seen a little too much to be blindly faithful, but recently there have been a few things... well, let's just say I'm a little more open to thought than I used to be.
