[Lancelot stood in front of a great, molten forge, walking along a narrow walk-way inside Troichean Beinn. He was out of his armor, wearing a thick smithing apron and a short-sleeved tunic, startlingly different from the usual attire he would display. As always, Lancelot's absolute lack of enthusiasm shined like a dying star.]

To those of the Unseelie court--I have a trade I would like to make with you. If you believe yourself skilled in researching history and mythology, please respond.

I have a second trade I would like to make to those with an affinity towards nature--in which I must emphasize that such an affinity is a necessity, unless one prefers risking death in this.

[Hoisting his free arm up, Lancelot raised a short-sword with a gleaming red blade, fairy letters written down the length of it. Visibly, the sword seemed to have been vibrating somewhat. Anyone with magical affinity may even hear a soft, hollow sort of noise coming from it as well.]

To those who can assist me in these favors, I can repay you with the fruits of my labors. Wrought iron, enchanted by fairy-magic. I cannot promise the best of weapons at this moment, but if you aid me in this, I will create a finer reward for you.

Actually, he didn't suspect Rin as knowing about Servants. He had been addressing himself as 'Berserker' regularly enough that it might as well have been a nickname.

I see. By me being 'Lancelot' or--by means of me being a 'Berserker'?

[ Her mind is racing a thousand miles a minute, but she somehow finds clarity enough to answer. ]

I had heard of both names, but hadn't put them together.

Ah. I suppose, then, you may have heard of my prowess on the battlefield as 'Berserker', then?

I've fought in a few of the skirmishes of this world and may have gained a reputation that way.

[ The only thing that's suspicious about her is how short her skirt is, Berserker!!! ]

Y-Yeah, that's right. [ Oh ho ho, Rin Tohsaka's going to get out of this one. Of this she's certain. ]

Why do you use two names in this world when one is suitable? Are you a masked vigilante who has been unmasked?

[Lancelot would have laughed at that if he had it in him to do so.]

No. From the beginning, I've introduced myself as both--to remind others of my capability and the sins I burdened myself with in life.

My shame should not be a secret.

[ His sins. A good opportunity to prove her earlier story about understanding mythology, but at the same time is it really a good idea to ride a guilt ridden man's self pity trip? ]

The world may change, but I cannot say that I ever will. Regardless, my sins were great and many suffered because of them. As a former knight, there are tenets I still believe in.

But, simply being punished doesn't mean I'm absolved. As I yet breathe, I must be killed in proper combat. The tenets of a knight demand that blood be spilled over such a shame as mine.

[ Knights are so strange to her. There are the kind that boast themselves on chivalry and make the most of it. Then there are the kind who boast themselves on their pride and make the most of themselves. To be confronted with something like this is way out of her league of understanding, but she tries. ]
