I'm looking for someone. [ no doubt, a tried and true phrase the lockets have played before. Connor tacks a piece of paper to the locket so that everyone can see his drawing of a demon. it's sketchy and messy, but a pretty good likeness considering he was being beaten up during his confrontation with it. guess he inherited one more thing from his father's side. ]

From what I've heard of this place, that's what we're supposed to be doing.

[ killing each other!!! guess who hasn't been given the 'make love, not war' lecture of his life. there's no clear sign on his face that explains what he thinks of that exactly. He moves to turn off the locket and hesitates. ]

I want to know. [ how do I get out, who can I beat up right now, where can I find Angel -- ] Who's winning the war?

Oh--well. I'm from a place that doesn't have... [ She trails off, motioning with her hands at Conner, as if that explains anything. ] Demons to track down. It's a place called Earth.

It's... It's not really interesting, compared to everywhere else.

[ his brow furrows ]

Earth has demons. [ somewhere outside the high school musical hemisphere ] If you know where to look.

I mean, there's Sharpay, but she's not a demon, she's just a little self absorbed--why would you wan to look for demons, though?

[ are you sure sharpay isn't a demon ]

I've been doing it my whole life. [ which technically really isn't an answer but ] They don't exactly stay put either. Better to put them down before they attack people.

[ a hERO........ He kind of ducks his chin down, embarrassed. ]

...No, not really. I've met heroes. I'm not really one of them.

[ he's not like angel.... he's not!!! he's not....?? he is probably ]

Chasing demons down is definitely a heroic act.

It's not -- [ like that?? for some reason, he doesn't exactly want to explain to this cheerful girl about how he hunts demons because that's all he knows what to do, rather than from any reason. huffs ] Never mind. Look, if you see it -- or anything creepy, then just... give me a call, alright? Or whatever you call it through these lockets.

Eighteen. [ he thinks... he hasn't really noticed his birthday passing but it must have ] Why?

It's just kind of weird to think that we're the same age but you've had to deal with, like... killing demons and stuff.

[ he's quiet in response because it's not as strange, to see kids his age with entirely different lives than his. it's not like he's ever resented them for having normalcy. he didn't know the life of a normal teenager enough to want it for himself. but sometimes, on those dark nights when he looked on those busy streets and saw normal teenagers coming back from restaurants surrounded by friends and family, he resented them just enough. ]

Yeah. Weird. [ stiffly, then he shrugs ] But it makes things like this -- getting kidnapped to another dimension -- seem tame. Can't imagine how it must be for you.

[ Kelsi's waving her hand in the air in front of her face dismissively, mostly because she disagrees with that, but also simply because she's a little startled someone's not only talking to her, but talking to her about her. ]

It's--it's okay, really, I just feel bad I can't help anyone. You have that power, and--well. Obviously you're using it.

[ She does lower her hand and give her best encouraging smile, though. ]

[ furrows his brow ]

..Is it true you can get power here, if you ask for it? I heard that somewhere.

...It doesn't sound impossible. People can get power anywhere. [ bites his lip. ]

I wouldn't trust just anybody who tells you that though.

Especially the courts. [ the imps had kidnapped him, but he's not aware that faeries are friendlier and ask first ] Things like that always come with a price.

[ could he sound more foreboding if he wanted to? probably not ] ...Look, just be on your guard, okay?
