[ the video is at first, accidental--simply because bran was repeating what the fairies had told him when the locket was placed in his hands. what eachdraidh is presented with is not the face of a boy, but the snout and eyes of a very large wolf, looking into the locket as if he could see straight through it. ]

That isn't--Summer, to me-- [ the video jostles for a moment, just long enough to show a blurry, shaky image, as if the locket was being carried by someone and left to dangle. the image is of a boy, maybe eight or nine years old, with curly brown hair and piercing blue eyes. he looks surprised to see his own face in the locket, and when he lunges forward, it's only with his hands, as if he couldn't move otherwise from where he seemed to be seated against a pillar.

(he couldn't.)

the feed cuts off for a moment, before it's replaced with the text function. if it wasn't for the dictation of the lockets, bran wouldn't be able to speak with this, surely, but he watches it move with fascination as he speaks into it. ]

I seek someone who could carry a boy great distances.
My companion might have wandered off
But he only speaks his name, and is very large.
else, I would ask for help, with only kindnesses to spare in return.
I am at the castle the fairy called Caer Glaem, and I would like to move to the room they have granted me.

[ bran doesn't like asking for help. he's never liked it, but losing his legs forced the young wolf to learn to trust people, even when he didn't want to. all he could do was hope that meera or jojen or hodor had simply wandered off, and that once he was moved to somewhere safe, he could search the castle through summer's eyes, instead.

if reached before response, bran can be found sitting up against a pillar. summer is a fair distance away, but not so far--the moment someone approaches, the large wolf steps protectively in front of the boy, ears pinned back, nose ready to curl up in a snarl. ]

She speaks the truth. I'm not in Caer Glaem, but I am not far either.

[And the hardships and the guilt of the last few weeks seem to melt off her quickly.]

Can I see you? I can switch it to private if you like.

[ARE YOU SAFE???]

[ there's some fumbling but bran answers her with video, his lips turned up in the faintest, relieved smile; bran's never been so glad to see meera in his life, and he is so very often glad to see her. ]

Can I see you as well? Meera, where are Jojen and Hodor? I searched for a while with Summer, but I wasn't able to find a thing.

[Her smile is tender upon sight, and it does not take long for her to switch over to video so he can see her properly. She looks much the same, stressed but not without the capability of reason and a kind smile. But it does waiver when he asks that.]

I'm afraid they aren't here. This place does not take everyone at once. I looked for you as well when I came, but has been some months, and I have had no word of any of you. [So imagine her elation.]

But much of your family is here. You can take comfort in that. [She will not mention Eddard, feeling it is not her place.

--And then a pause.] It is good to see you, Prince Bran.

[ bran smiles and has to duck his head, freckled cheeks taking on a little bit of a flush. it's not high praise or anything, but to bran, it feels like she's giving him the highest compliment he could receive. sure, it's saddening that jojen and hodor aren't here, but... truly, bran could not be happier that it's meera who has also found herself into the drabwurld. truly, the two of them can handle whatever this place may throw at them.

it occurs to him a second later, though, and bran blinks, his eyebrows raising. ] ...my family? [ that's hard to imagine. the only time bran's seen his family is in death, and in passing through summer's eyes. ] Meera, that must be impossible--only Sansa and Jon...

[ they're the only ones left, though he doesn't say it out loud. ]

Back home, yes. [For this place somehow could bring the dead as well.]

But Jon and Sansa are here now, as well as Arya.

This place has the power to raise the dead? [ something surely even the three eyed crow couldn't do! though jojen spoke of his magic, and bran knew surely he would be able to fix his legs, if he just asked, the dead living was something only allowed by the white walkers--a truly terrible fate. but, if the dead can live here, then... ]

Is my father here? [ he asks it with childish wonder, eyes a little wide, smile threatening to creep across his cheeks. ] And my mother?

I-- yes, they can. [A heavy sigh as she feels the burden of telling him this.]

I did not want to be the one to tell you. Your family should be with you, telling you this, but no. Neither your mother nor your father are here now, but your father was here for a time. He only just vanished a few weeks back.

Oh. [ bran's face obviously falls--would that mean that his father has returned home to the crypts of winterfell? he had haunted this land as a living man, and now he was dead, again. bran's heart aches for his father, and he looks down into his lap. he may never come back--bran never got to say goodbye to his father, and he still wishes he had, that he had just stayed longer, waited for his young son to awaken.

but, duty was important. his mother's words had it, and his father took them to heart as well, as a good and proper lord would do. ] But he was here. And Sansa and Jon and Arya--and you, you're here, too. It seems like a dream.

I'm glad you are happy, Bran. [To see him safe and happy is all she could ask for really.]

I'll be happier when we're together again. [ bran looks around for a moment, eyeing the castle around him. ] After so long it feels strange to be alone.

I would come for you myself, but I have told your sister I would stay here. I'm sure you will be brought to Cothromach though. It is safe here. [For the time being. They are certainly preparing for the worst.]

[ he nods his head in understanding--yes, of course--although something in his heart twinges unhappily at the fact that it wouldn't be meera coming to get him. she'd carried jojen, surely she could carry bran... but, her duties came first, and he knows that.

(he still wishes it was her, though.)

something occurs to bran, though--in this strange place, where his family lives... ] Have you met Arya? Surely, you have.

[ one of his first thoughts upon meeting meera was that arya would love her. ]

Briefly. I was not long in Caer Glaem with your father. [But she does have a fondness for the girl.]

She's like you. [ he says so a little earnestly, nodding his head. ] Likes to fight, and--she was always very good at it. [ even when she wasn't supposed to be. :|

something occurs to bran, though and he pauses. ] Meera, how long have you been in this place? I only just saw you, not minutes before I came.

Mayhaps when she comes to Cothromach, we can spar. I'd like to see what she's capable of. [Perhaps it's not entirely odd for females in the Neck to fight.]

I've been here for months. This place-- the way time works isn't linear. Think of your dreams. Sometimes what you see are faces from the past or the future. Here, any can come at any time, and you would never know it.
