[ it's clear that, when the video starts, arya's locket is not around her neck. it's around something else... or rather, someone else. that someone is nymeria. and nymeria is hovering around arya as she sits on a crate, a canvas bag at her side and... chocolate all over her mouth, a smudge on her cheek, and on her fingers as she stuffs her face with another piece.]

No-- [ her mouth is full so her words sound like it.] Ru can't haff any. Mits not good for animarls. [ she stuffs another chocolate into her mouth from the canvas bag and chew for a few moments before she stops. she makes a face then groans, her arms wrapping around her torso. she makes another face, you know, the kind you make when you feel sick because that's how she feels. sick. she pushes the bag away, moving to lay down, her voice a bit whiny.]

Nymeria... chocolate might be poison for humans too.

[ well that's just maddeningly unhelpful. ]

But how big was the bag?

[ maddeningly unhelpful could sometimes be arya's middle name. but here, she holds up her bag to show. you know, the bag she was meant to pack her clothes in. ]

I could have sworn that bag was for your dresses -- [ you know the dresses she probably procured just for arya so you could impress the dwarven court with your sweet attitudes and graces.

let's be real it was a hopeless cause from the outset. ]

I hate dresses. [ sorry, sansa, you tried.]

[ and sansa hates being a matriarch but we all have our crosses to bear!!! ]

I know. I know you do -- [ but that's a battle for another time because her sister is clearly in some sort of pain, even if it was self-inflicted. ] Perhaps you ought to go to bed.

[ seriously what else is there to do about a sore stomach? sansa's no maester. ]

[ she packed two dresses, sansa! that should be enough, right?]

Jon's coming to see to me.

How kind of him. [ you will thank him won't you, arya! ] Let him talk you back to your room if he tries it.

[ please arya no public scenes. they're trying to impress their hosts so they'll give them defences and resources. ]

I don't like my room. [ she shakes her head.[

[ she'll find another! she'll ask someone to fix it if it can be fixed. she is (mildly) desperate to curry some favour with the younger sister. it's a shame it never manifests helpfully. ]

[ there's a long pause.] I prefer my old room. [ she misses home.]

What? In Caer Glaem?

[ winterfell is years behind her. she has had too many rooms since then. ]

[ she shifts before she decides to just lie.] Yes.

[ sansa has developed a good ear for lies. a good eye for them as well. but she expects them from lords and ladies and knights and kings. she is otherwise trying to hard to deal honestly with her sister that she does not question this simple word.

instead, she worries: ] You know that we ought not return to that castle. Our home will be in Cothromach now. [ like their father intended. but there the architecture is nearly as dwarven as in this city, and she fears arya will hate it for the same reasons as she hates her quarters here. ]

I don't want to live in Cothromach. [ everyone else lives in the castle. she left all her things there.]

[ unfairly, she dangles that name to her sister. sansa knows that jon is arya's favourite. more favoured than her, certainly. ]

Can't we just stay at the castle? [ it's a childish request, she knows.]

I cannot ask the people of Cothromach to respect a Keeper who does not...keep.

[ and yet there is a sad longing in her voice. sansa does not want this responsibility. she feels ill-made for it. unsuited. she would love to stay at the castle with the glittering fairy lights and the whims cared for. ]

But we've never been to it. [ who knows if it will be safe for her.]

I was -- just the once. With Ser Gendry. We stayed some days there before we returned to Caer Glaem. Shall I tell you about it, Arya?

[ maybe she can work hard and inspire some love for the city in both their hearts. ]

No. Father told me about it some.

And did he tell you that most of it was underground?

[ too bad she's telling you anyway. maybe if they're lucky this will clear their mind of present grief. let it sink back down into the dirt of their hearts to take root. ]

[ arya makes a face.] Yes. [ the idea of being stuck underground made arya uneasy.] I don't want to stay underground. There's no sun underground. Or snow.

They say a city underground is safer.

And it's darker.

Darker. Yes. [ she will not lie about it. sansa herself feels uneasy about the very same thing. ] But none must stay below the ground at all times. I was told there is a great love of hawking just outside the gates.
