[ This video feed is focused mostly on a Lancelot's dog, so all that is really seen of him is his hands holding her still. She's terribly curious about it, but he's restraining her from licking it or chewing it.

His voice is distinctly tired, and anyone who is paying attention will notice that you can just about see a line of red, raw skin on his wrists -- leather guards covering how heavy the damage might be. ]

Is anyone good with names? I'm afraid my friend here has gone too long without one. She's brave, curious but cautious, much cleverer than I am...

[ She's also turning to nudge his hands. He lifts one gently and pets at her ears. She squirms a little, shakes her head -- then makes a quiet, high-pitched sound and...

... hiccups a tiny fireball. The dog's ears flatten back, perhaps unhappy or apologetic (maybe embarrassed, it wasn't very elegant) but Lancelot just huffs amusement and strokes her again. ]

Forgive me, I almost forgot, it seems these -- [ He reaches out of the frame and his hand comes back holding a small, blue feather. ] -- have some kind of magic in them. It appears it does not discriminate in who it grants it to.

[ Which means he now has a small, magically inclined dog. ]

[ Huh. He hadn't thought of it that way. The puppy is turned a little as Lancelot considers her. ]

I have no honey with me, but I will make sure she has some once I am back in Caer Glaem. She deserves whatever she needs.

If she's coughing or still having trouble with fire when you get back, try and find me. I have a tea mixture specifically for this sort of thing I can give her, and I know it works, too.

[ wow mako that's... very generous of you to do for this random fellow. maybe it's your dad-ness showing, now that you've got doll to think of and take care of too. ]

Is this a common problem... Lancelot is confused. ]

The fire? Yeah. It won't stop it or anything, but... [ he pauses, and scratches at the side of his head, thinking how to explain it. ] I know how it makes your throat feel, from personal experience. Look —

[ a pause, and he takes a deep breath, letting his eyes fall shut for a moment, before exhaling a clean stream of fire, which bursts into a small mushroom of flame a few inches from his mouth. as it dies, smoke still leaks from his mouth a bit, and his words are rough for a few moments when he speaks again. ]

I do this, and when it's not on purpose, or gets messed up...

[ he shrugs, and clears his throat slightly. ] The tea'll help.

[ His breath catches in surprise, then Lancelot considers this information. ]

I see. Thank you, then. Might I know your name? Mine is Lancelot.

[ oh, he must be the one kal mentioned before leaving for redgate. ]

Mako. Do you know Kaldur?

I do. We have spoken once or twice, although never in person.

[ nodding, nodding. ]

He's mentioned you to me before.

[ That he had connections in the other court, ones that might pass useful information to him when Kaldur was not there to pass it for them. ]

[ oh. right! kaldur was using him as a research center while they were at redgate. ]

Hunh. Isn't that convenient. [ he brushes his fingers through his messy hair, making it stick up plenty more, glancing off to the side thoughtfully. ]

Well, if, when you get to Caer Glam,your lady friend there is coughing, gimme a ring, okay?

[ He gently puppets the tiny dog to lift a paw and wave a little.

She patiently endures this indignity. ]
