Hello.

[ Alice has finally figured out how to lock this to her court! Yay. Well, no, the female imp she's befriended has figured out how to set that up for her. Awkward hellos aside, Alice clears her throat and speaks like she's been reading from a script.

So she's been rehearsing.]

As I am sure that you are all aware, there have been efforts to recover those feathers. I am not sure how far along the others are, but might I ask who would be interested in conjoining search efforts?

[She is not good at these things; Alice tosses her hair and opts to use a more casual tone, rolling her eyes at herself.]

I am at the station still, but I can make my way towards any parts of Drabwurld that need more unseelie hands. I will say I would prefer to go with the group I traveled with to the Redgate, but as far as others go, well. Maybe I prefer my own court.

I should be fairly close to the station. It's close to the safe haven I've taken to monitor.

Well, if it isn't my favorite oddball.

[ Alice will now try to figure out insults to appease him. Even with that, she actually seems excited about traveling with the old group. ]

I suppose that works, doesn't it? Do they need you close by?

[Lancelot stared at Alice awhile. Maybe there was a little lag between the lockets, but--

No, the word 'oddball' just struck him as Alice using some sort of military code. Was he about to be ambushed...?]

...No, they don't--not constantly, anyway. Whatever money I make, I use to secure small amounts of security for the havens.

[Now, if Lancelot decided to use his new ability to smith--]

[ WHAT IS WITH THE STARING? She is sorely tempted to meet back with some sort of sarcastic, smarry remark, but. The most she does is let out a small laugh.

That's a first in a very long time. ]

[ Leave it to buckethead to make everything awkward. ]

I much rather not take any sort of leadership position but I will be glad to have your help. I will leave the station, anyway.

[Leave it to awkward-pantaloons to make Lancelot wonder what on Earth they were even talking about, anymore--]

...Would you be assuming such a role? [He wasn't used to picking leaders, himself. Still, between himself and Alice, Lancelot knew she was much more rational than he was.]

Regardless, you would do much better a job than myself.

[ she considers this for a moment. Alice gently shakes her head. She's very genuine when she says this. ]

I don't want to, I think leadership is best with more than one person than a sole individual. Don't you think?

You speak to a man who devoted his life to a King.

[He had to admit that it was probably the best response he could give. Regardless, Lancelot had actually been pretty apathetic about the prospect of there being lone leaders or groups of them. In the end, he just wanted to hit things with his sword and Alice would totally let him.]

[ her feelings on leaders and authority are not the most warm ones, but even then she can respect that. What else is a knight to do. Rather than giving him a sour look and Alice not too keen on assuming such a roll, she'll just let this slide.]

Well I wouldn't be very good, anyway. I'm no queen.

[If Alice were a queen, she would have been battering Lancelot for incessant flirting.

He didn't think much of that denial, either. Alice would have been a bad queen, he thought. She could scarcely hide her own concerns. A queen would have to weather storms without so much as exposing a single emotion.]

Leaders are not limited to Kings and Queens, Alice.

[ What is flirting. Why are you such a doofus. Alice doesn't disagree with this either, however- ]

I realize. Surely you're not asking me to order you around, are you, Sir Lancelot?

I'm not, but I don't believe you would lead me astray, either way.

[The point was to say--Lancelot didn't want to put responsibility on Alice, but if she happened to get some sort of rank, he'd probably be the first to support her.]

[ She shouldn't be dubious, but she is. Quietly dubious with giving him a weird look. ]

Of course not, but you are just as capable of being rational as I.

[ "We're both mad, what are you thinking?" ]

That may be true.

[No, he was supposed to say, 'No, you're much more reasonable than I am', but then he had seen her briefly go insane once--]

Though, I cannot say I would be the best judge of courses of action. I am limited by my tenets, after all.

[ Who wants to see Alice in a full, psychotic rage? No one. It's funny how Alice is willing to admit this, rather subtly, that she's not the best judge of that, either. ]

It's commendable that you abide by them still, really. I don't have that many or at least that changed after that battle.

[ She felt terrible for losing that much control and becoming so brutal in battle for a few days. Those feelings are gone and she is no longer bothered by it and will do it again, if needed. ]

Granted, I am not as skilled as some of you are. It's a bit of a blessing that my former teammates pledge aid.

[Lancelot wanted to see that. He thought she looked fairly pretty when she was all unwound and ready to stab people in the neck. Maybe being raised by a battle-fairy/witch was a bad idea.]

Unpracticed talent is the same as possessing no ability at all, Alice. Skill may come with experience as well, thought your own innate talent is rather high.

[That said, they were talking about combat prowess--]

But, I would gladly follow you, regardless. Talent and skill in combat are secondary when it comes to leading others. As I said, I do not believe you would lead me astray.

[ So as long as he doesn't say that out loud. Not because that's a weird thing to say, but Alice will say she's anything but.

She's trying not to frown at him or give him a sour look. She'll what she can to ensure that they are safe, all of them. ]

Mm. I will be leaving shortly.

[ She's not going to dignify that with a statement nor her sudden fluster. She's not soft! ]

I will be riding out on a gray mare and start to search the surrounding areas. I'm sure you'll be able to find me.

I'll see you soon, then. [Lancelot didn't, for the life of him, notice any change in Alice's expression. She often times had flitting emotions dance around on her, but they didn't often times stick too long.]
