[ Having left Redgate on horseback with a promise to return when he can, John hadn't really had a plan. The war has become a hard thing to swallow, having seen the devastation the dragon had more or less accidentally done to the village. He'd given the funds Kaldur had sent to Alyosha, presented in front of all as a donation to help with restorations, and he hopes it helps. More than that, he hopes that being away from there makes it a bit safer.
If nothing else, the birds seem to have followed him, chirping and squawking all the way along the road to Daonna's fairy ring. His horse hadn't been particularly pleased about it, and it isn't too pleased now, either, in the camp John's made for the night. He's in the wilderness, close to the edge of Loch Noa, and it's sunset -- John isn't particularly sure whether or not he wants to see if the stories about a ghost girl and her dog are true, but he had to stop somewhere.
There are long strands of fur left on his shirt and he plucks them off. They appear white, but are actually transparent -- polar bear fur. A hint of blue can, likewise, be seen behind him. He's been collecting feathers, and using them. ]
Anyone else looking for the feather thief? If you're in the area, my camp's open.
locked to the krew + legolas + clara + arya;
You all doing okay?

[ He wonders, he thinks for a moment and there's a pause here to show for it. ]
I see. My stance you know, and further I am being driven away from the Courts with the knowledge that I have come here to share with you. No matter which side of this war wins, the price will be terrible to pay by those of the opposing side and their homes.

[ Always better to be informed. ]
As in- their worlds?

[ He pauses a beat, and then with a gentle smile that rings in his voice like a crystal clear water of a mountain stream. ]
Above all else, I do miss your presence.
[ Yet it doesn't last overlong, before seriousness returns. ]
Aye, and the Unseelie... they are close, they are winning this war.

[ The guards at Redgate had been extremely amused.
He softens a little. Oh, Legolas, you make him sentimental. ]
It's been a while.
[ That is, he misses him, too.
But- ]
... Crap.

Should you wish to change this, and have the possibility to, then in a couple days short of a month, I will be in the vicinity of the fairy ring in the southern Great Greenwood. There... we could speak at length too.

[ There's a distinct weight of gratitude to his voice. Then a pause, before he picks up again. ]
Hermione is safe with me. I thought you would wish to know, [ he smiles and it next can be heard in his voice clearly, fondness for both those friends of his, ] though you may already do.

Yeah, she told me. Thank you.
