[ Having left Redgate on horseback with a promise to return when he can, John hadn't really had a plan. The war has become a hard thing to swallow, having seen the devastation the dragon had more or less accidentally done to the village. He'd given the funds Kaldur had sent to Alyosha, presented in front of all as a donation to help with restorations, and he hopes it helps. More than that, he hopes that being away from there makes it a bit safer.

If nothing else, the birds seem to have followed him, chirping and squawking all the way along the road to Daonna's fairy ring. His horse hadn't been particularly pleased about it, and it isn't too pleased now, either, in the camp John's made for the night. He's in the wilderness, close to the edge of Loch Noa, and it's sunset -- John isn't particularly sure whether or not he wants to see if the stories about a ghost girl and her dog are true, but he had to stop somewhere.

There are long strands of fur left on his shirt and he plucks them off. They appear white, but are actually transparent -- polar bear fur. A hint of blue can, likewise, be seen behind him. He's been collecting feathers, and using them. ]

Anyone else looking for the feather thief? If you're in the area, my camp's open.

I didn't want Naga to get jealous.

Hey, Naga has to compete with Appa sometimes. I think she's okay with it.

Appa is much bigger than I am.

And could squash Naga if he wanted to. I can't really do that -- wouldn't, either, but at least the possibility is there for him.

Naga's hunted creatures larger than him before. That's not really what deters her.

All different kinds! Probably just as dangerous and large as yours, just... different.

They're extinct, but they used to live in my world before people did. Big fucking lizard-bird things.

I think the ones that eat meat would probably try and eat Appa. Lizard-bird does sound like the sort of thing you'd have running around, though.

Well, we do have lizard-crows in Republic City. They eat meat, but they're relatively small. [ curious pause... ] How big did they get?

Some of them were small. Others... Appa-sized or larger.

Depends on the species. The herbivores usually got the biggest, but there were some big carnivores, too.

From what we know, we think it was Argentinosaurus. A plant-eater. Had a long neck so it could eat leaves from the tops of trees.

[ interrupting muffled sound of doll cheeping hello... with something in her mouth... ah. ]

[ doll omg. korra's talking about dinosaurs here, why are you interrupting her. in the minor scuffle, the video feed gets turned on, and there's doll looking quite pleased with herself, a tiny bluebird held in her mouth. ]

[ seriously that was one of the best things about having naga learn how to hunt: it meant that tonraq and korra could take the evening off. ]
