[Alice is currently outside the stables once again, sprinting up to greet a small, white rabbit. The imp that's decided to become her company has made a point to turn on the locket, in the midst of a mild debate.]

Oh, not now, it can wait- Sophie!

[ It's no ordinary white rabbit, as it runs up to Alice when she greets her, Alice kneeling down beside a familiar grey mare.]

Sophie! I am so sorry, I didn't mean to leave you!

[ Alice picks her up and holds her up to look at her better. The imp is tugging on her hair gently and Alice is ignoring. ]

Miss, please-

No, it's alright, my friend, They need to eat first. Oh, surely you two like something other than hay?

[ Alice glances to the horse grazing behind her. Alice looks exhausted and even paler if it were possible. She feels more secure with the animals and the small imp that she talks a bit more freely than she would with others.]

Miss, I think you need to eat! They're already so well fed, don't you think?

No, it wouldn't feel right. They've both been so lonely, I think! I'll be fine, I-

[ Hold up, Alice pauses with the rabbit jumping out of her hands and grazing besides the horse. Alice shoots a look up to the imp above her head. Exasperation crosses over her face more than anger.]

For goodness sakes! I said I was fine!

If it makes you rest for yourself just once...!

[Alice, why don't you know this? He was sure he told everyone constantly about how he wanted to die--]

Did you not know? If a knight falls to dishonor and yet he still values his code and tenets, he must then roam and look for battlefields.

He must be defeated in honorable combat, so that another may triumph in having slain a tainted and corrupted soul. As such, it is why I have pursued battlefields.

[ Because sometimes it's so disheartening for her to believe someone would say that. A feeling she knows all too well. ]

You must think of me silly when I insist that there is more to than that. Even you have a new beginning, Sir Lancelot. We do need you. More importantly, you would be missed.

[ And for the love of god, don't follow up with something awkward. ]

I apologize, I was trying to give you the proper reprimand here that you so desire but I'm afraid that I am a loss for words. Which is why I am telling you to come back in one piece.

[Lancelot knew all of this. He had tried to deny it to the utmost, not wanting at all to be selfish after he squandered his first life without hesitation. A second life seemed to be an insult to the people who died because of him.]

I'll take it into consideration, Alice. I do, in fact, have things I must do.

[ There it is. It was easier to insult him earlier, but that sounded hollow.

She's sure it upsets her because it is something that she carries too. It's one of the few things she hates about her own being, but it is something she pities in others. ]
