[Alice is currently outside the stables once again, sprinting up to greet a small, white rabbit. The imp that's decided to become her company has made a point to turn on the locket, in the midst of a mild debate.]

Oh, not now, it can wait- Sophie!

[ It's no ordinary white rabbit, as it runs up to Alice when she greets her, Alice kneeling down beside a familiar grey mare.]

Sophie! I am so sorry, I didn't mean to leave you!

[ Alice picks her up and holds her up to look at her better. The imp is tugging on her hair gently and Alice is ignoring. ]

Miss, please-

No, it's alright, my friend, They need to eat first. Oh, surely you two like something other than hay?

[ Alice glances to the horse grazing behind her. Alice looks exhausted and even paler if it were possible. She feels more secure with the animals and the small imp that she talks a bit more freely than she would with others.]

Miss, I think you need to eat! They're already so well fed, don't you think?

No, it wouldn't feel right. They've both been so lonely, I think! I'll be fine, I-

[ Hold up, Alice pauses with the rabbit jumping out of her hands and grazing besides the horse. Alice shoots a look up to the imp above her head. Exasperation crosses over her face more than anger.]

For goodness sakes! I said I was fine!

If it makes you rest for yourself just once...!

I guess the imps are probably too stupid to catch one then, huh.

[One of her tosses her a dirty look, but continues setting up the tent he was working on.]

I've never had a pet before. No idea what I'd do with one.

[ Alice is smart enough not show agreement nor denial, she keeps a straight face when the imp with her is still nearby. Besides, they're becoming friends! ]

Think of it as like having a friend! Animals will always listen to you and never scorn you. They're happy with the simplest things and will care for you unconditionally. They're more than just pets, they're friends to me.

[Lumina's imps are pretty loyal to her, though she tests that at times.]

Friends who won't argue back, huh. Hmmm.

Yes. Animals can be a little stubborn just like humans, although not on the same level, at times.

Hmm.

[Lumina reaches up to catch an imp as it flutters by. This one appears to have painted it's face decorations pink to match the child's hair. It doesn't struggle as she wraps her arms around it...apparently they're getting used to random hugging.]

Kind of like these guys?

A little! They remind me more of cats, however.

[Lumina thinks this over for a moment before she lets the little imp flutter back to his chores.]

They do, don't they? Except I'm pretty sure they'd eat cats if they had the chance.

It is very plausible as well as it is plausible for a cat to want to eat an imp.

Yeah, well, they better not try to eat my imps.

[Lumina is possessive of her things, thank you.]

So what's your name, anyway?

[ Alice is almost tempted to say good luck with that. She's grown up with cats, she knows how bad they can be. ]

Alice Liddell. And yours?

Lumina. [She hesitates, as if trying to decide on a last name to tell her. She didn't have one...or she did. It was a matter of opinion. She never gave it much thought before, but so many people had been introducing themselves that way that she's had to think about it.]

Just Lumina. [She finally decides.]

Duly noted. There are quite a few without surnames.

Seems that way, huh? Back home everyone had a last name. 'Cept me, anyway

Names will always have meanings, if you only have one to account for.

[ Unless you're a crazy Noldorian elf, then it's different. ]

[ She's a literal person, so she is just going to quietly reserve judgment over here. Or doubt, rather. ]

Yeah! [She grins.] More people should name themselves, they'd be happier. Or let me name them, I had to name one guy here, he didn't even have a name.

He kept giving himself titles. 'The Outsider' or 'The Leviathan.'

[Lumina clearly thinks that is ridiculous.]

They're not names, though! So I named him Lev.

I don't think he has a name anymore, not the way he spoke.

Well he does now.

At least, he seemed to like it. I think. It's hard to tell with that one.

Well, I'm sure that he's lived for centuries to where having a name or not doesn't matter. I don't think he would mind either way.

What does living for centuries have to do with whether or not your name matters?

[Lumina would have said something snide, but the idea that time degraded a name startled her enough to just...ask.]
