[ GOOD…… late night or super early morning, network. Witness the amazing Fire Ferrets in their natural habitat, if a bit sleep-mussed and underdressed. (Understatement, tbh.) Come on, if your pajamas aren’t “be shirtless” or “in a sports bra”, you’re just not doing things Republic City style in this weather.
The scene set in the rather large room is unnerving at best. Splashed against the background are scorch marks from recent firebending, and shadows are cast from the ripped and torn flooring — it looks like there was one hell of a fight. Off to the left, there’s a soft glow as Korra tries to heal a deep wound on her arm with her waterbending and Mako, holding a small flame in his hand for light, crouches over a dark, suspiciously person shaped thing on the floor. Next to it are two other suspiciously person shaped things, also not moving in a very “dead” fashion.
As Mako makes notes in a small logbook, he and Korra seem to be having something of a disagreement, with Korra hissing angrily and Mako trying to calm her down with steady, hushed tones. While they talk, he meticulously searches through the clothes on the things — let’s be honest, they’re corpses, three of them, lying on the bedroom floor — gathering the evidence he finds and apparently writing it down in his little book. He adds whatever he finds to a growing pile of trinkets... which at this point consists largely of knives, garotting rope, and other sketchy murderous tools. With a soft trill, the two cats who adopted Mako jump up on the bed, looking shaken and huddling protectively around a small green and gold snakelike creature. Naga, on the other hand, seems to be licking something from her lips with her long tongue, looking quite proud of herself, tail absently tapping on the mattress behind the kittens.
Bolin, looking suitably confused and sporting an oddly smug Pabu-scarf, is taking up the foreground and accepting the responsibility of having his priorities in place. Unlike some people, wow. ]
Uhhhh. Hey. So my name’s Bolin. Nice to meet you if I haven’t already met you. Nice to see you again if I have? [ You know, whichever. ] Got a quick question for anyone who could answer, it’d be great to have it cleared up: is there like a... running history of people getting a pet back for a boon, only then a month later it turns out that their pet can also grow about eight feet and tackle an assassin? Just. Just wondering.
[ He stops. Glances back at Mako and Korra. Purses his lips, and turns back. ]
Okay, so, one more question. About the assassin thing. Like… are they also a thing with a running history here?
[ in the background, the dead body rummaging and healing krew has finished their argument, and in the ensuing silence, you can hear their last snippy comments before the feed ends. ]
At least no one was kidnapped.
[ Mako says, completely deadpan. Korra’s eyes narrow and she shoots back: ]
Or arrested, huh Officer?
[ WOW, RUDE, KORRA. ]

this girl.
she has had.
eNOUGH. ]
video;
Heya, pal, there's no one here that's cowering! You wanna end up like one of your friends here? [ and with that she grabs the locket and swings it around to show off the corpses of the assassins, rigor not having set in yet. she focuses on the tallest of the three: a humanoid with a long neck and tail, measuring about ten feet in total. the cobra-like hood at its throat is flattened out and it looks as though its been defanged post-death. she swings the locket back on her, snarling. ] Name a time and a place, and you got it.

... No, I wouldn't.

meanwhile, mako's head whips to the side with the force of korra's blow, one hand rising up to cover the point of contact in dull shock. what the heck, korra? he turns back, more offended than angry, blood beginning to leak from his nose, just as doll's teeth connect with korra's ass. thankfully her shorts mitigate some of the baby dragon teeth problem, but... still. ]
action now.
Ow— hey! [ reaching back, korra pulls (more gently than her temper would suggest) doll away from her ass, holding her up and giving the baby dragon an unimpressed glare. ] Just what is your daddy teaching you, huh?

gently she releases the small creature into mako's hands. ]
... Sorry.
action now.
You're not a coward, Korra, or a bad person. [ he can worry about the fact that she punched him for his comparison later, this is more important. ] That guy was using a manipulation tactic, you know, lies and slander, to get you to do what he wants.
[ um... brief pause. he's going for this advisor role, clearly, so he might as well go all out with it. ] It's not that I don't think you can't win, or anything like that. Just that you'd probably regret fighting him later, especially if he's Unseelie.

It's impressive you speak so clearly with such a forked tongue.
I certainly accept. Even at risk of dealing with your trickery once more--
[Lancelot reached up to pull his helm off. He flexed his fingers, the helm exploding into shards of metal within his grip.]
In recompense for the lives your trickery stole--I will gladly face your deceitfulness.
REGRETFULLY NOT HERE 8(
BUT SHE'LL FACE YOU.
OH SPIRITS WILL SHE FACE YOU AND BY THAT TIME YOU'D BETTER HOPE SHE CAN'T METALBEND. ]
HEGRETFULLY HOT NERE

video;
Uhhh, so yeah, thanks again for the... assassin advice. See you around. Sorry about your helmet there? [ idk man. Nice helmet bad manners, wow. Just WOW, never-had-a-pet-guy. he's not paid enough for this craziness. because he's not paid at all. ]

A challenge is simply a courtesy. In truth, I had once entertained the thought of allowing my enemies a chance to escape me. In the battle the Seelie fought the Unseelie, it was my mistake to be so kind.
[He offered Bolin just a bit of a sad look.] I see that my kindness has cost the lives of my allies. I cannot afford to be that way, anymore.
