[The video feed flickers on to show Harry sitting in the garden at Redgate. The image quality isn't ideal, but even so it's easy to see that there have been some changes to the young man's appearance. His rough, new eye-patch hides an empty socket, but does little to cover up the nasty bruising on his cheekbone and split lip.]

I can't imagine that anyone here has had use for one yet, but I'm on the lookout for a good dentist.

[ ...Alright, that's something he can't quite ignore, much as he might like to. Felix stares for a moment, considering, then swaps the feed. ]

How many did you lose?

[ Blunt, but it's the first thing to know; he's clearly well enough to speak. 'Donors' will be more difficult to find for anything closer to the front -- not that Felix has the first idea where to inquire about such things here. ]

Two. I still have them. The roots are pretty well intact, from what I can tell.

[ Harry smiles and it's clear that he's lost an incisor and the tooth beside it. ]

[ Not so bad, at least by Felix's standards -- which, admittedly, are not at the peak of modern European medicine. ]

Good man. Rinse them out carefully, then reposition them into the sockets. Hold them in place and keep them wet -- you won't want to do any chewing for a while. If they won't stay in, keep them in your cheek until you can reach assistance.

[ He runs his hand through his hair, restlessly, still peering over Harry. There's a certain hesitation to the glance, as though he's uncomfortable with looking for too long, but his words are all business. ]

Soak a cloth in cold water and wrap that cheek. You'll want to avoid licking your lips -- oil of mint may help speed the healing, but it'll be a few days at least. Does anything feel broken?

[ Felix taps the air just above his cheek, frowning faintly. ]

They've been out for a while now. I tried holding them in, but they wouldn't stay. My cheekbone is broken, so everything is a bit out of alignment.

[ It's been a few days since he was injured and the more traditional methods didn't work. ]

I suppose, [ Felix swallows a sigh. ] That it at least saves you the trouble of buying a new pair. Do yourself a favour and stop talking -- write, if you can manage. Where on earth are you?

[ Harry gestures that he needs to go get some paper, but he's back in a moment or two. ]

Redgate.

[ Where in fuck is Redgate, is his first thought. His second: ]

Have you any reason to fear those around you?

Not particularly. Why?

[ The look Felix casts the locket is somewhere between exasperation and concern. ]

Then go to them. Find a physiker or a lift out -- the teeth can wait, just keep the gums rinsed with liquor, but your cheekbone --

[ He shakes his head. ]

-- Difficult enough to heal cleanly.

If there was a dentist that could set them easily, I'd have gone to them.

That's why I thought I'd ask here.

A noble effort, [ Felix, don't snark at horrifically injured teens. ] But listen to me: the teeth will wait. You can't do a damn thing about them just now. It's the rest of your face that ought to concern you.

[ Under better circumstances, that might be an insult. There's an awfully weird, subdued urgency to his voice for someone who's never met Harry before in his life. ]

Are there no healers of any kind with you?

As far as I know, no, but again, that's why I'm asking here.

And the rest of my face is as repaired as it's likely to get. It was a lot worse, but I had a little magic stored that stopped me from bleeding out or anything worse.

So I gather.

[ Felix pauses holds up a hand, indicating the matter should settle, as though he isn't precisely the person who escalated this in the first place. His words fall back into blunt neutrality. ]

I can't offer you any assistance which you don't wish to take. But for heaven's sake, try not to aggravate it. 'As it's likely to get' can become a great deal worse again; don't undo that bit of cleverness. If you're going to live, better to be able to swallow and chew.

[ A moment's consideration, before he finally adds: ]

If you've still trouble with it when you've a means to travel, I'm in Caer Scima; I may be able to help with any lingering aches -- however a fracture, I'm afraid, remains beyond me.

[ It's plain from his tone that he doesn't expect to be taken up on it. ]

Thank you. I'm heading back there soon, but I'll likely make a stop in at Mair first, I'm fairly sure they had some sort of magical dentistry.

[ For what he considers fairly obvious reasons, he'd much rather have gone with another shardbearer. ]

[ Felix doesn't understand it, himself. Each new face in the Drabwurld might as well be foreign as the last. ]

No doubt they will.

[ He bites back further advice -- don't trade anyone your teeth for others -- there's no reason to repeat blood magic superstition to every injured stranger. Felix isn't the boy's mother. ]
