[The locket screen shows a blonde with slightly mussed hair and a skinned chin. Her eyes are wider than they normally are and it's obvious to anyone who's seen panic that she's trying to fight back a little of it right now. She also has her back to a door, one that she seems to be trying to keep closed.]

Okay. Okay. Um, I did not sign up for this, okay? Okay. There are... things out there. It ate one of the little flying guys. Then there were more and then it got bigger and then...

[Then she found her leg being caught and pulled and she'd tripped and bumped her chin and kicked at it until her shoe fell off and she was freed. And now she needed a new shoe.]

It took my shoe.

[This is very important, guys. She now only has one shoe and can't run properly.]

I don't suppose anyone has a... thing that can make them go away, do they? Maybe a really bright flashlight? Or... crap, I don't know. Anything?

[BOOM! The door behind them slams open and a ravening beast bursts into the hall. Jack sashay-a-thons faster.] LOOKAMERCYME!

Oh my god, don't these things give up? I don't taste good. I have too many preservatives. Promise.

[Even saying that, she started into a jog, heading for the stairs and trying to decide before she got there if she should go up or down.]

HURRY UP, GIRL! LARKAMERCYME!

[He comes charging up behind her, then falls flat on his face. A shadow-tentacle has snaked around his leg and tripped him up. It is slowly dragging him backward.]

[As much as she wants to just keep running, she can't leave him there when he came up from his drunken hovel to help her. She turns and reaches for his hand, grabbing it and starting to tug.]

Let go of him, you overgrown fairy fart.

[Jack does manage to take her hand for all the good it does. Meanwhile, he is constructively yelling and whacking at the incorporeal tentacle with his sword. Which, of course, does nothing.]

Now would be a good time to remember that word!

[Because try as she might, she couldn't get him out of its grip and she wasn't strong enough or heavy enough to use her weight to do more than keep it from pulling him closer.]

[Oh my God he got it right. The thing winces, as though struck.]

[The tentacle that has him releases him and begins to shrink.]

[She just sort of stared for a bit as the thing actually responded. To a word. It even started to shrink and she pulls him back to help him stand.]

Lawkamercy. Me. [It feels so good to FINALLY remember a word. And he simply lets her lug him without putting in any effort to stand. This entire thing has been madness and he's still drunk.]

[It dwindles and dwindles.]

[She's not tugging on him so much since the thing is shrinking even further and she moves to lean over it, saying the dreaded word yet again.]

Lawkamercyme.

[Poof. The creature had either shrunk down too small or had disappeared and she let out a relieved sigh.]
