[Granted, Stefen hasn't been here that long, but he's already restless. He isn't much of an explorer--even in a place he knows, let alone a strange one--and, truthfully, it's dangerous and if there's anything a Bard knows how to avoid it's danger and discomfort.

So instead, he sits, gittern in his lap for a moment or two before he begins a song. It makes him feel better, even if he isn't doing anything besides playing, not using his Gift or his voice at all. It's something familiar, at the very least, and he sighs when it's over, then makes a face.]

Perhaps I just haven’t been here long enough, but I imagine I’m not the only one who feels they’ll go mad in white linen if I stay here much longer. [A pause.] Not that the place is without its charms, surely, but… [Sigh.] Does one ever get used to it?

Likewise. [He feels guilty for wishing it to last.] Thank you for being patient with me.

You're welcome. As I said, I'll do anything, even if I'm not good at being patient.

It doesn't help that you're beautiful. I have sympathy for my future self too. He doesn't stand a chance.

[He gives a melodramatic sigh.] If only he knew that.

He does. [He keeps his eyes, surely?] But he'll see you as an innocent. Taking advantage of you would feel...wrong.

... [He frowns and blinks slowly.] Were we...?

[His heart aches and he cups one of Stefen's cheeks against his palm.]

I know I was happy, then.

[Stef just sighs and closes his eyes.]

I hope so.

[His thumb smooths over the soft skin.]

Don't doubt it. [He peers deeply into his eyes and embraces him tightly.] Bonds don't appear randomly or without reason.

Hm. I don't suppose the reason matters so much as its existence int he first place.

The reasons matter, but...

I can feel it. [He lays his hand over Stefen's chest.] I can't ignore it or stay away from you.

I can't say that I'm not glad for that.

[His smile is soft as he rests his cheek on Stefen's shoulder. Some white strands fall into his face, but he doesn't do anything to push them back.]
