[Video | Both Courts] 1st Battle
"As far as abductions go, this one is rather polite. I would have thought I would be properly ransomed by now, not treated to a feast and my own quarters..."
[Your newest arrival, Seelie-folk, is not speaking with complete honesty here. She of course came her of her own free will just like everyone else, she was just under the impression it was a dream at the time. She didn't expect to be stuck here. But even she has to admit it's not as bad as it could be, considering her rank as a princess appears to be given at least some respect. And, well, she wasn't being treated as she expected a captive would be treated.
Hard to say if that diminished any annoyance she might have been feeling though, considering her expression at the moment. "Displeased" would be a mild understatement, but at least she wasn't inconvenienced to the point she was out trying to destroy the castle.
Her room has an adjoining study attached, in which a servant appears to be busying himself tidying up. Dusting the bookshelves, furniture, and generally just trying to make the study she was granted as presentable as possible. Looma has not yet had the heart to announce to him that everything inside simply must go. But that will be changing soon enough! It was the entire point behind this video announcement after all, as she had exactly zero need for friends or any similar social attachments.]
"I am Princess Looma of the House of the Red Wind. I have decided to offer a trade, and will consider your offers as necessary. I have no need of anything in this room, and wish to be rid of it! What I do require is a proper stand for my armor, as well as the necessary materials for its care. My hammer requires the same attention."
[She holds the hammer into view not necessarily to show it off, but more out of practicality. Her experience back home was that few species still used such weapons, and those who once did certainly constructed them differently. Hers had a head at either end, and was about the size of a human child. Of course, anyone particularly attentive would also note that she appeared to be holding it into view with two right hands, raising the question of just how 'alien' she was, exactly. As if the four eyes and blood red skin weren't enough of a tip off with regard to her non-human nature.]
"Provide that, and you may have your pick of anything in this room. Except my attendant, of course. Unless he proves to be as worthless as the rest of the room."
[She could not fathom how this would be a fair trade in this or any world, but if the furniture and books were prized enough to be included as a gift, perhaps there was some value to them. She just didn't know what or why. To her, a small armory would be far more preferential to a study. At least it had an immediate usefulness attached to it.]
"Anything left unclaimed will be used for kindling, so speak quickly! I need to explore more of this place, and prepare for the battles promised to me."

Why on earth can't you just put them in the hall? [ Felix waves a book of his own, rather belligerently. It's maybe just a bit less impressive than the hammer. ] Your grace.
[ The exasperation in his voice is plain -- What is with people here? What makes everyone rush to war and blood? -- And it snuffs out like a light as rather abruptly, Looma's form seems to finally register in his mind. ]
I, ah. That is. [ He stares, dumbly. Some lone, distant neuron dedicated to survival instinct shrills out a brief alarm, then falls silent. ] There's far better for fires than all that.

[The "you idiot" is...heavily implied there, in that angry snarl of a reply. On the bright side, she had not yet resorted to actual, open insults yet. Still, while she may consider her gifted possessions as worthless, she at least has sense enough to consider that someone else might consider them worthwhile. Even if the reason behind it might be something she can't quite understand.]
Of course there's better for fires. But at least a warm fire gives me something more of greater value than this.
[She sweeps two of her arms behind her to cover just about everything in the room, servant included. Whether that bit's intentional or not's hard to say, really.]

[ Felix can't match Looma for much, but he can certainly manage tone. Of course, his own voice lilts towards the shrill and snide more than any warrior's yell. He sounds a bit like a condescending ferret. ]
You'd gain far more good from making a gift of it, your grace. [ There may be more than a few enormous cultural gaps at play, here. ] Not to those who'd trade you, obviously. If no one puts up a worthy offer, then just give it to those that you know they don't like. This way, they gain nothing from it, and you gain an ally -- as opposed to a housefire.
no subject
[Well, she'd managed record time without resorting to name-calling at least. Almost a whole two minutes, even.]
Your plan only works if these fools come clamoring out of the walls like vermin fighting over scraps. Which they have not.
[Well, not yet anyway. She's still just a teensy bit hopeful that somebody will be willing to give her what she needs in exchange for what she perceives to be useless objects.]
I also have no need of allies so easily bought with such pathetic offerings as these! We are here to fight a war, not try our hands at interior decorating!
no subject
Too true, only the rats and maggots must crawl for such finery. Which explains perfectly why our honoured hosts would have chosen it for the welcome gift of such a formidable warrior.
[ The words drip with scorn. he's going to grudgewank u looma!!! ]
What ever must they think of you?
video
If you do not want it, why should we? Burn it if it so useless.
video
So I am to believe you have no interest in my possessions? Then begone.
video
Of course I have no interest, and neither do you. Burn it and be done with it, and spare us the noise you are making. You will not get anything of value for paper and fabric.
video
From the likes of you, you mean. If they were valued highly enough to be gifted to me, then perhaps they are valued enough to be bargained for.
video
So valuable they let them sit, locked in a room gathering dust. If you had not arrived, it would have been 'gifted' to someone else. You will make a good pawn for them if you are so easily manipulated by their generosity.
video
oh joy they're both xenophobic supremacists]I am no one's pawn, worm. I fight in this war because I was promised the glory of a hundred battles, not out of loyalty to these See-Lee. Should they disappoint or betray me, I will wage a war of my own making.
video
Best friends!]There is no glory in war, nor is there honor. If you think to find either of those here, or anywhere, you are as stupid as you are gullible.

[Hanging up on him? Hanging up on him.]

[ That's about half placating semi-flattery and half honest sentiment. Kaldur is glad that this person at least knows how to fight, and fight well, as well as proper care for equipment. Also, this isn't his first diplomatic alien rodeo, he feels sort of obligated to try and respond the way this one is expecting.
An alien. For once, there is something normal with this world.
Kaldur aliens aren't really normal you might have a problem.]Your Highness, might I ask what planet you hail from?
no subject
From my father's kingdom on Khoros, of course. The homeworld of all Tetramands.
[Except for the weird ones who adopt a new one and produce half-breed spawn with humans obviously]
no subject
Still, now might be an interesting time to observe a 'Tetramand', just in case they show up later. ]
Then I am most honored to have you here representing your people, as a showcase of their greatest strength.
[ She's a princess, and Kaldur's hedging his bets but... he feels pretty confident that she at least believes herself to be their greatest warrior, and it may even be true.
Regardless, Kaldur is intrigued, and, in all honesty, he kind of wants to spar with someone in non-lethal combat at his own level. Not just elemental control, but with punches and fists and skill.
And, all right, the four-arms thing is kinda wicked cool. ]
I am, unfortunately, called away on a mission, but on my return I would be most interested in seeing a display of your talents.
[ He already invited the interest of a potentially psycho whale-loving villain that would be pretty cool if he didn't feel super... villain-y. This couldn't be more foolish than that, right? Also, having someone like this Princess Looma on his team. Man, he would want that so badly. ]

The greatest you'll see until my father arrives, at least. But I am his finest warrior.
[This much, at least, was true. Sure she was immensely proud of the claim, but it was not false, either.]
Then I hope you prepare yourself well, because I will not be holding back. Pain is a wonderful teacher! And if you hold back, I'll break both your arms!
[That...last part was said almost playfully. Though there's certainly an element of seriousness to her words.]
What is your name then? And what planet are you from? You appear almost human, but I do not remember...
[She's not sure what they are, but she's running a finger across her neck, about where the gills on Kaldur's neck would be. She's a perceptive one, when it suits her. And in this case, it's largely because she needs to keep track of how many warriors she's fought, and what species they were.
You know. For bragging rights.]

[ He's kind of getting into it, now. It's like diplomacy plus friendly boasting plus sparring. That's an amazing combination of things KAldur likes that he enver thought would ever go together. At the moment, he really kinda likes this. A lot. ]
I am Kaldur'ahm, of Shayeris, and a superhero on my world. I am from Earth, though I imagine it must be a different one than that with which you are familiar.
[ He sees the motion, and gives Looma a bit of a grin. ]
My people are Atlanteans. We live in the oceans of Earth, though many of us can also dwell upon the land with ease.
no subject
[Far too much happy, there. Can't be healthy. Still, at least it's genuine.]
Well then Kaldur-ahm, I wish you luck on your journey. It would be a shame if I had to go looking for another opponent.
[Which she'll do anyway, because she never really stops, but just for different reasons. She really wants to fight you now, Atlantean. And she will remember that name.]
If your kind are that adaptable, you must be a challenge! More so than the humans, at least.
no subject
I shall do my best to return well and ready for our battle.
[ He could probably stand for some training bruises anyways. It would do him a heck of a lot of good. ]
I hope that I will not disappoint, your highness.
