[Aubri looks far more composed for this message than he did the last time he addressed the locket. His feathers are neatly groomed, all traces of dirt and blood gone. The alertness in his gaze is less stress-induced and more of genuine curiosity. The brand above his left eye -- a simplied Unseelie sigil -- is visible, though well on its way to healing. All in all, he looks much better than he did when he warned of Celegorm's march on Caer Glaem.]

It has not been so very long since many of us found our memories plucked from our minds and given to the public. Perhaps it is not so for some of you, but for me, it is rather unheard of.

[A pause] I wonder: do any of you know why this happened -- and why it happened to some but not to others? I was otherwise occupied during much of that time and, if it was said, I missed it.

[[This also serves as an open ACTION post: Aubri has taken up residence, for a good part of the day, on a patio at the Station. He has laid claim to a nice, warm sunbeam. For the price of good company, he'll share it.]]

[And before he can answer that, Straton is upon his tail. He turns his head quickly, wings flaring and hissing at the bandersnatch cub while doing his best to extricate his tail from the cub's grasp.

And, you know, his teeth.]

Straton!

[ Abandoning her sketchbook, Ariadne jumps up to try and extract Aubri's tail from the cub's mouth. He's growling right back at Aubri, thinking this is a game; apparently it hasn't quite sunk in that the tail he's chewing on is actually attached to the gryphon. ]

Straton, drop it.

Yesssss drop it. [Aubri doesn't want to hurt the cub -- he's grown a little fond of the thing himself, never mind that he can picture Ariadne's absolute betrayed face if he should -- but that is his tail. It's quite attached, thank you very much.

He tries to get a talon between the cub's teeth and his tail. If Straton is going to chew, he can at least chew on something that doesn't hurt.]

[ The cub looks momentarily confused -- is this part of the game? One little paw swipes at Ariadne, though he is -- mercifully -- far better about being careful with his claws. ]

Come on.

[ Straton does not come on, but he does release Aubri's tail in favor of chomping down on the talon. ]

Maybe he's teething.

[Aubri pulls his tail away, absently noticing that, yes, it is bleeding but not badly. Just a little scratched up, thankfully. He peers at the cub that is currently latched onto his talon.]

How many more teeth will he get?

[He's pretty sure there's more than enough.]

Uh.

[ Ariadne leans over to try and see Straton's mouth as he gnaws, wriggling happily. ]

Two rows?

[ Of... a lot of teeth.

Realizing she can't actually check, she turns instead to go place a hand on Aubri's tail and press some healing magic into it. ]

[Aubri's expression is rather telling: eyes narrowing and peering at the cub gnawing on his talon, he definitely looks dubious.]

He puts them to good use, at least. [Sorta. His tail twitches under Ariadne's hand.] A minor scratch, Ariadne. You don't need to.

He thinks he's very fearsome. [ He will be, one day, but he'll still think he's a big baby around the two of them. ]

Well, Straton can't exactly help you out with it, can he? So I will, as an apology from both of us.

[ Not that the cub looks horribly apologetic while he's gnawing on Aubri's talon, but it's the thought that counts. ]

[Aubri shrugs a wing and lets her do what she will. There's no sense arguing.]

How big will he get? I do not know this creature.

Big enough to be ridden, apparently. Larger than a typical bear, I'd think.

[ Then again no one really rides normal bears. ]
