[Aubri looks far more composed for this message than he did the last time he addressed the locket. His feathers are neatly groomed, all traces of dirt and blood gone. The alertness in his gaze is less stress-induced and more of genuine curiosity. The brand above his left eye -- a simplied Unseelie sigil -- is visible, though well on its way to healing. All in all, he looks much better than he did when he warned of Celegorm's march on Caer Glaem.]

It has not been so very long since many of us found our memories plucked from our minds and given to the public. Perhaps it is not so for some of you, but for me, it is rather unheard of.

[A pause] I wonder: do any of you know why this happened -- and why it happened to some but not to others? I was otherwise occupied during much of that time and, if it was said, I missed it.

We call our home White Gryphon. [Obviously, he doesn't mind the asking.]

That...is a very old name. [He looks taken aback.] I have only read about White Gryphon from history books.

History books? [Aubri had been lazing about in the patch of sun. At the comment, he perks up, gaze suddenly far more focused than it was. This is the first indication that there is someone from his world here -- his world, albeit somewhat removed from his time, apparently.] Are you certain?

I believe so. [He has to sit down, sorry Aubri. Vanyel runs his fingers through his hair and thinks back.] That would have been around the time of the Mage Wars.

[Which would make this Gryphon very important indeed. Not to mention powerful.]

[He's not sure he's ever heard that war called such, but he can figure out pretty well what wars this one is referring to. Doesn't even take much thought.]

I am called Aubri. [Might as well get to introducing oneself. It's a good distraction from the craziness that is meeting someone from the future.]
