[Video | Evening, after the feast | Both Courts],
[Arthur is still none too comfortable with this locket, in fact it takes some fiddling for him to remember that for visuals he need do more that just talk directly into it, thus for a moment or two only his mouth or a nostril are visible, his discomfort with this device clear upon his expression as it's revealed. Or perhaps that's worry, concern knitting his brow? Either way he's not too pleased, and there's a noticeable weariness in his blue gaze.]
Good evening, I use this in an to attempt to find the whereabouts of my manservant, Merlin. He appears to have misplaced his locket-- that or he simply will not respond.
[Arthur is really not well acquainted on how to address those not directly in front of him when anyone may view this. Even to address many, standing before him seems rather more natural than speaking into a piece of jewellery. Still, he turns thoughtful.]
Perhaps some of you may know him, however for those who do not, I suppose he's best described as awkwardly tall, quite shabby about his clothing--
[Arthur's tone is somewhat weary, isn't that the worst? What else?]
-dark hair, very probably unkempt, really there's every possibility he's set up in a tavern somewhere, he's been known to spend days there.
[In part said not only to aid his search but to convince himself that it could easily be a most valid explanation -- he's vanished without notice in Camelot.]
It's not like him to be absent for the feast.
[Food, it's not like him to miss out on food. Including food that isn't his. A slight frown tugs at the corners of Arthur's mouth, he not giving the impression he's concerned, at least not to an assortment of strangers and lets out an irritable sigh before the message ends.]

[ it's the manservant that piques his interest, zuko coming to the conclusion quite quickly that arthur must be royalty. those who aren't don't have servants. zuko wonders where he can get one, if caer scima has merely opted to not give him one as an act of pushing him to tie his own shoes — or maybe they deem him capable of looking after himself, as he had proven to uncle iroh he was quite capable of serving tea without so much as spilling its alleged precious contents. either way, he wonders. ]
You have a
[ his text stops there as he wraps his fingers around the spikes and presses down hard in agitation. he begins to press buttons at a furious pace, ready to breathe fire if the locket so much as doesn't bend to his own will. he almost forgets he's in the middle of a conversation as he does so. ]
Ugh! Stop writ —

[ zuko would apologise, but he hasn't done any harm to arthur, so the i'm sorry doesn't even begin it's ascent up the ladder of his throat. he thinks he's managed to turn it to visual. his tone is softer, conversational — and implies he hadn't just almost had a fit a few seconds ago. ]
You have a manservant?
[ does he even want a manservant? well, he thinks so, just to operate this stupid locket. ]
video »
Indeed-- not that it matters so greatly when he's impossible to find.
[Arthur's brows arch a little, it's not difficult to notice this particular person is struggling somewhat.]
These lockets do take some getting use to.
video »
[ he's somewhat comforted by the notion someone else has had trouble with the locket. but zuko's zuko. some part of him wants to have no trouble with it at all. ]
Did he help you with it?
[ wouldn't that be one of the tasks a manservant has been assigned with? ]
video
We have nothing like this in my world. At least nothing I've encountered, the means to contact someone days travel away in moments.
[Yes. That's reason enough isn't it? To have no idea what you're doing, and it wasn't as if Merlin figured it all out more rapidly- well, maybe it was.]
Initially. He did.
[Hence the somewhat unexpected view of Arthur's nostril, early on. However, his tone suggests that Arthur's mastered the art well enough now, mostly of his own volition. Even if he's not entirely comfortable with it.]
video
[ but rather than affirm that he, too, is from a world that lacks whatever this locket truly is, he thinks his own poor demonstration of it and thus question says as much. ]
Is he a servant from this world?
[ it makes little sense if he had been from his. how can someone from a world with this contraption know how to work it if he didn't know how? ]
video;
[she can't decide which is weirder. and if it sounds like she may burst out laughing — well.]
video;
Sometimes I wonder- Uh yes, Merlin. Have you seen him?
[Yes, the fact she's struggling with a ridiculous name is lost entirely on him.]
video;
Can't say I have. But I just got here, so that doesn't mean much.
video;
Ah, I see. Welcome, I suppose though it's all rather abrupt when one arrives here, isn't it?
[As best he remembers, and bizarre.]
video;
video;
A few months, I believe. [By the looks of it, he doesn't seem certain, in fact he's not sure if he feels as if more time has passed than he realised, or if it seems he feels he's been here rather much longer that a matter of weeks.]
Arthur Pendragon. [He offers, with a slightly awkward dip of his head, to the locket. Not greeting others in person, but via their visual is still a little odd.]
I cannot say how different you might find this realm from your own, as I'm told there are many worlds, and times that people arrive here from. However they do make certain to keep you comfortable here, and well fed.
video; 1/2
she actually opens her mouth to accuse him of having her on, making an idiot of her, but he goes on to talk about different worlds and times. and he seems dead serious, is the thing, with the whole — posh manner.
fucking hell. why the fuck not, she guesses.]
video;
Least there's that. There's worse ways to fight a war, aren't there?
Video
Video
You're a friend of his? We've been gone some weeks now, and only returned to Caer Claem recently. But now I can't seem to find him, I would have thought the feast might dare him out.
[He seems disconcerted, but reserved.]
Video
[She smiles a little, seeming amused. Until she realizes that he makes a good point.]
I found him to be quire charming. You will tell him that Margaery misses his company?
[But she's not as optimistic as she sounds, especially not after her own brother's disappearance.]
video >> (so, so sorry embarrassing typos previously c.c;)
[There's amusement shared, more clearly so as the young lady offers a sweet message for Merlin, of all people. Oh yes, it's unlikely he'll live this one down.]
Provided he makes himself known Margaery, certainly.
[Arthur's tone is quite gracious and he dips his head, because he will certainly be true to his word, especially the idea of Merlin charming anyone, let alone someone such as Margaery is absurd.]
You ought to try reach him? If you've not already?
[Merlin being far more likely to speak to a rather sweet lady, than a furious master.]
video no problem!
video;
I should hate to burden you with too much at all, my lady. All Merlin need know, should he speak with you is that his presence is requested, promptly. By Arthur Pendragon.
[And his list of chores is likely to grow by the minute.]
video;
[Margaery repeats the name to herself until she remembers.]
Oh, you're his king. From Camelot.
video.
[ She's still somewhat unsure of how to title him, all things considered. He's not the Arthur from her world, that she's sure of, but at the same time he is still a king. She has to be polite, gentle, careful. ]
That usually means that the person has been sent home.
video.
Sent home. Why would he have been sent home?
video.
video.
[He's really not an idiot Hermione, as thick as he currently may seem. Well, not always. It's just he's rather busy not really wanting it all to be as it seems. His brow doesn't ease, expression somewhat a scowl.]
And they tell us we might never return home. Only to send those around us, you can be sure of it?
video.
[ She does her best to offer him a soft smile, hoping to, at least, offer some kind of gentle kindness. ]
Like I said, Merlin wouldn't be the first to randomly go home.
video.
No. I suppose not. [Arthur isn't too obvious about how much this much affect him, or if he's even certain on the fact that Merlin might be gone. Arthur gives a tight sort of smile in return, appreciative in a way. And, not forgetting.]
I'm sorry you lost your friend.
video.
[ Her eyes flicker over Arthur for a moment and she wonders about all the things Merlin said; just a manservent indeed. It's obvious how important Merlin is to Arthur and vice versa and she wishes there was something she could do to bring him back. She wishes she had that kind of magic. Otherwise -- well. No, there's not much she can do apart from wait and offer the hand of friendship. ]
I'm sorry you've lost Merlin. I know how important he was to a lot of people here. [ She pauses, tilting her head, before she smiles. ] At least he's back home trying to learn to be a better servant?
no subject
Would his business bring him to the Station?
[Look at him, trying to be helpful and all.]
Video
Perhaps-- I'm afraid I know little about the station.
[Only what he's heard anyway, one day he ought to visit it.]
Video
Video
Uh- what, might one visit there to see? There's much of this land I've yet to explore.
Video
video »
how long has it been? months of being here and not once had she thought arthur would be here also. how foolish it was for her to think so, if merlin had arrived why not arthur? if mordred─ hands curl tightly and her knuckles go white. ]
Arthur.
video »
Arthur takes in a breath, and lets it out slowly before he speaks.]
Morgana.
[He greets in faintly weary return, he's guarded in his own manner as his mind races - with that the differences of this world, might just mean.]
