[ Hans has made pretty good legwork around Caer Scima during and after the feast, but that's not quite enough to satisfy his curiosity on a few matters - the locket, for one, and the other court for another. So he might as well kill two birds with one stone, right? Besides, while he's still getting his bearings, the best thing he could do what get to know as many people as possible. He hates being so unfamiliar with, well, everyone.

So he greets the video feed with a friendly, enthusiastic grin, his actual exhaustion buried deep beneath the surface. ]

Good evening! I apologize for the interruption, but I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself. I'm Prince Hans of the Southern Isles, and I've only just arrived in this world. As you might imagine, it's a bit overwhelming. If wouldn't mind taking a moment of your time to help me better understand the conflict going on here, I would appreciate it.

[ Then, after a thoughtful moment: ] And for curiosity's sake, who else is a royal in their own world? Surely, I can't be the only lucky one here.

[ Sure, lucky, SOMETHING LIKE THAT. ]

[as far as the camps go, anyway. regular mortals will still send you to a therapist if you start claiming your parent is a god, but they don't know anything about anything so who cares.]

It's less about luxury and more about solving all the gods' problems for them.

That's not necessary. [ Or at least, that's what he's telling people for now. ] Just Hans is fine. No need to stand on ceremony when my kingdom is in another world.

[be proud, dude, he actually looks mildly impressed.]

That's pretty chill of you. Alright, "Hans" then.

[ He's just...gonna assume being chill is a good thing. ]

So, is being here much different from home for you, then? I hear there's a lot of problem-solving the high king and queen expect out of us.

[of course it is. haven't you met elsa?]

...Not that much, I guess. A lot of my friends are here too, and we're still fighting monsters and all that, so...yeah, you're kinda right.

[ He has, and that doesn't translate into a good thing to him. :| ]

It makes me wonder if they didn't just get tired of fighting their own battles. Then again, I only just arrived, so I wouldn't really know. I've just heard.

[ He's just speculating. And vetting out possibilities. ]

I don't know what their intentions are for us, really, but they haven't forced anyone to fight for them. So far, I only have either because attacking monsters don't really give you much choice, or because I had friends involved in the fights. Otherwise, they offer rewards for helping their kingdom out, but they don't punish anyone who doesn't.

If you don't fight, what else is there to do?

[ He isn't a soldier. He needs to know what his options are. ]

I do, but I hope I can find some way to occupy my time beyond becoming a librarian. It seems like there's plenty of world to see and people to meet, at the very least.

[ He hasn't determined yet whether or not staying at Caer Scima will be the best use of his time. ]

If you're gonna go out exploring, just make sure you find a group to do it with. It's dangerous to be on your own out here.

I've heard a bit about the monsters. Anywhere in particular I should avoid?

Depends on where you're going, I guess. My friends and I have explored a lot of the areas around Caer Glaem [probably more than a lot of others too, given their various tricks for getting around] but I can't say anything about the rest of this place.

[ He doesn't have any immediate plans to visit Caer Glaem ~~yet~~, but Jason doesn't need to know that. ]

It'd be pretty helpful to know what's around Caer Glaem, actually, if you don't mind humoring me.

Woods, mostly. Some more mountain-y areas. Several kinds of monsters. What were you looking for in particular?

Monsters would be good to know more about. More specifically, how to not get myself killed by them.

Well, don't travel anywhere by yourself, for starters. Even if you're confident in your ability to protect yourself. It's just safer to have someone watching your back, especially when it takes so long to get anywhere and you need to sleep eventually.

Aren't there places to rest besides the road itself? Inns? Homesteads?
