[ Politics and wars are one thing, but magic is quite another; some thirsts aren't slaked so easily by squabbling imps and gaudy fabric. Knowledge is power, and power is every wizard's disease.

Felix is far more rumpled than he'd like, and that hair won't unfrizz any time soon, but the words come calm as day: ]

It seems we've all been busy, so I suppose I ought to be brief.

Magic. If you'll indulge the melodramatic imagery, it's as myriad as a hydra's necks, and almost twice as difficult to pin down. Any sort of rigorous survey seems better left for days without a pounding headache. Perhaps instead, we might just speak. 

Tell me what you know about magic. Stories, facts, vicious gossip if you're so disposed. Magic brought us each here, so let us be kind guests and oblige it the conversation.

[ He flashes a wide, tired smile. ]

Unfamiliarity is quite acceptable. I'd just like to hear it from you.

Nothing like the monsters you're most likely thinking of, I assure you. They're more or less just like humans, albeit with a much longer lifespan and more natural magic skills.

[also they have cool flying skeleton monster things and all the dragon preserves and pretty black hair and shit.]

To be perfectly frank, I hadn't been thinking of a thing -- the term's a foreign one to my ears. Like this place's elves, are they then?

[ He's met an elf, and he doesn't think much of them so far. Still, they seem to fit the description. Though the assumption of monstrosity's defense... ]

Perhaps. I don't know much about the elves here yet. Forgive me for making assumptions, I'm just used to having to justify myself for having close relationships with demons. There's still lingering tension between the races, where I come from.

[mostly from bigoted old men who just want any excuse for war, but unfortunately that's the majority of the nobility he has to deal with.]

You've nothing to apologize for, there's dreadfully little way of telling what any world will have in common with others. If we didn't overstep here or there, I daresay we'd never get anything done.

It takes a gifted diplomat -- or perhaps, just a modicum of common sense, but I have heard the two go in hand -- to press on through conflict. How ever did you establish those ties?

I met their king at a party [where said demon king was crossdressing for some reason] and helped him out of an embarrassing situation. We became friends afterward.

Trust from social travail, as it were. Politics never sleeps -- forgive me, I don't believe that I caught your name.

[enthraller]

He's not really much for politics. And I do mean that in a good way.

[yuuri wouldn't be nearly as charming if he were like the rest of the world's scheming politicians, after all.]

Ah, I'm sorry. It's Saralegui. And yourself?

Forgive me, I hadn’t expected you of such virtuous companions.

[ He’s teasing, but leaves off back into a more even tone, fluttering a hand as though in introduction. ]

A marvelous name — I must admit, I haven’t heard anything the like. Does it hold any meaning? Myself, I’d be delighted if you’d call me Felix.

[he gives a small laugh at that, clearly unbothered by the teasing -- and okay, so maybe that statement is more true than felix realizes.]

It's a pleasure to meet you, Felix. And I'm sorry to disappoint you, but if there is some special meaning to it, I'm afraid I don't know it.

[you'd have to ask his parents, one of whom ditched before he was even a year old and the other having been completely uninterested in his own chucks and dead now.]
