Accidental Video | Seelie & Unseelie | sometime during a break in worm fighting
[ The locket comes alive with a voice - deep and wild as the sea, it sings a lament in a language that seems made for music. The songs starts partway, and it is obvious perhaps that the singer is not aware that he is being recorded. There is the flash of one of the Unseelie imps, before it vanishes offscreen to reveal the singer - a man, or something like one, dark haired and grey eyed, with his face turned up to the stars.
To any who listen, the words of the song will paint themselves in the mind - white ships and blood on the sand, a tall and proud people with bright banners beneath a new-born sun, fire and blood and tears unimaginable, and three brilliant jewels that rival the stars ]

You remember it clearly, so it hurts inside.

[ Maglor wonders who is on the other end - the voice is adult, but the query is almost childlike ]
Some memories scar deeply and never truly heal. Equally, some ought never be forgotten because they scar

I can never forget. Not anything.

Yet, some things ought never be forgotten.

[There's a quiet moment as he searches his databank for an appropriate question to ask.]
What is your name?
[Strange to experience someone's memory through song and not even know who they are.]

No name? That is passing strange. And 'Terminator' is hardly the name fit for one who asks such gentle questions.

A Terminator is what I was created to be.
[Though not what he had turned out to be.]
no subject
But is that the path you still follow?
no subject
No. I have learned when not to kill.

Then it seems a poor name for you, now. [ /hypocrite ]

[Creativity is not his strong suit. Terminator suits him just fine, but people do seem to love their proper names for things.]

I... among my people [ Maglor says carefully ] a chosen name reflects something of what you want to be, or what you see yourself as. What words would you want, to define yourself?
(ooc: for clarity - in Tolkien's world, the first two names are given by parents, the mother-name being often prophetic. the third name is chosen, often by the individual in question on gaining a good self-awareness... or by very close family and friends. So. Yes. THIS IS HUGELY CULTURALLY SIGNIFICANT for him ahahahaha you're almost asking him to adopt you XD)
Hehehehe this is a brilliant thread!
Fighter. Machine. Loyal.
Sorry this took so long making good names is hard sob
[ The answering pause is equally long on this end - Names are seldom given lightly, and Maglor thinks long and hard ]
Angahtar then, "Iron Warrior"
No problemo! It's worth it. :)
[He tests his new name out. His thick accent has a bit of trouble wrapping around the syllables, but he likes it.]
It's a good, strong name.
... welcome to the family? =p
May it serve you well.
Heh. Honorary robot elf!
Thank you.
For more awesome just add robots?
That should be his motto.
we should request it on a nametag as a boon
haha best boon idea!
I will look for you.
