I don’t know you people. Not really.
[ Jake is seated in what looks to be some sort of a tavern, the walls behind him planks of wood instead of the stone of any of the castles. His hat is on, bright blue eyes staring out from under it, fixed on the locket. ]
And unless I’ve missed something, none of you know me.
[ He certainly hopes no one knows him – he’s wanted, after all. ]
But I don’t know these people who took us here, neither. And I ain't inclined to go to war on their word.
[ This isn’t a draft. It’s kidnapping, and while he has vague memories of having kidnapped before, it was never to gain soldiers. ]
Now, I reckon I ain’t the only one feelin’ that way. If I’m right [ and he’s willing to bet that he is ] and you ain’t content to sit around or be pushed into fighting for ‘em, then… well. [ Surprisingly white teeth show in a sharp grin. ] We may have some things to talk about.

All know, there is nothing to hide. Legolas stands... oddly proud, when he responds, no matter the sheared off hair braided into a single weave running over a forehead and forwards an elegant point of an ear. The dull phantom aches all across his back, trailing the lines of scars always, always threaten to bend his back, yet he keeps steady and keeps his voice even. At the very least, he does have a faint smile to offer. ]
Then we should talk.

You one of them that's already left their court?

Aye. I offered my help to the Seelie Court, sympathetic to their plight and willing, however not all has been divulged at the time. [ That it would be a war putting kin against kin, that so many would be unwilling and not made for the fighting, yet still pitted against each other. That one of his own, a close friend he had known all his life, would wind up on the opposing side. It only strengthened his resolve. ] And so my father and I have withdrawn our support.
I am Legolas, son of Thranduil.

Jake Lonergan. I was pulled off my horse by imps, taken to the Unseelie Court. Left the first day.
[ Then lurked around La Llorona like a creeper. ]

Well met, Jake. [ The hat tip was quite an amusing gesture for him, a hint of mirth shows for it, but Legolas remains polite. ] I will not ask you to divulge your plans, not like this, but should you wish to speak at length about them, my father and I are at the Station for a time still.
[ But not forever. ]

[ He sighs a little. The Station makes him uncomfortable, and not just because it seems to hold items from far later than his time -- it makes him uncomfortable because it's a hub, it's busy, and anyone could be listening. ]
Suppose I could make the trip.

[ Legolas offers as a means of gentle encouragement. It's not much, but it's something for certain. ]
And it truly seems a neutral ground. Though we do not wish to remain here overmuch long. A temporary safe haven.
[ While Legolas recovers, though he doesn't say that. There is no need to get into what happened to him with a stranger. ]
no subject
Jake nods. ]
Shouldn't take me too long to get there, then.
