And he’s not entirely convinced that he’s not being made a fool of. But it seems he has little lose except a bit of dignity, perhaps, and at the moment, at least, there’s no one around to see him. So he clears his throat, takes a breath, and speaks.]

I’m looking for someone.

[He pauses, feeling decidedly foolish. But the thought of finding Cersei is enough to spur him on.]

My sister, to be precise. Cersei. She’s very pretty. Blonde hair, green eyes… Essentially, me with tits. If you can help me find her, you’ll be handsomely rewarded.

[He offers his faceless audience a charming grin. He’s not entirely sure that his coin will be any good here, but gold is gold, is it not? And if his gold somehow fails him, well… he’ll find some way to repay the favor.]

Take me to her, and I’ll truly be in your debt. So long as she is unharmed, of course. If you’re thinking she’d make a lucrative hostage, rest assured, I will pay you back - in steel, not gold.

So. I believe that covers it. I’ll be waiting.

[And with that he snaps the locket shut, feeling a good deal more hopeful than he had just a few minutes ago. Cersei is far from quiet. Surely someone who’s encountered her will see his message. She may even see it herself.

He’ll be seeing her soon. He’s sure of it. And when he does… well, he’ll just have to demonstrate precisely how much he has missed her.]

As possessive as ever, I see. [ Aha. He knows exactly why, though his lips are sealed. ] For the best, I'd imagine.

[He's just going to ignore that first part. It's not like he can argue.]

For the best? [He pauses to let the incredulity really settle in.] No, I don't think the fact that my sister - the queen - is missing is really for the best.

Would you rather your sister be here, in the midst of a war with faeries all around us and worms threatening our doors, or at home, with her Queensguard, the Kingsguard and the rest of King's Landing to protect her? I wonder.

What's the difference between one war and another? She'd be just as safe here with me as she is there with them. [And then he could see her with his own eyes and know that she was safe, rather than having to trust anyone else to keep her that way.]

And it is her safety that is most important to you, is it?

Of course. [There's a note of indignation in his tone. He doesn't much like that emphasis or the doubt that it implies.]

[ He's aware that he's playing a dangerous game here; he knows of Jaime's past, at least in terms of the period before Renly knows he died, and he knows better than to dare push the Kingslayer too far. His face breaks out in an easy smile and he lifts his shoulder. ]

I would think having her home would be safer. I cannot imagine Cersei taking kindly to faeries or giant worms.

[Jaime sighs quietly. There's no arguing with that.]

No, I'm sure she would not. I suppose you might have a point. [Though, it pains him to admit it.]

I would just prefer to know that she's safe rather than simply have to believe it.

I suppose that, here, you could watch her more closely?

Yes, precisely. [So you do understand.]
