And he’s not entirely convinced that he’s not being made a fool of. But it seems he has little lose except a bit of dignity, perhaps, and at the moment, at least, there’s no one around to see him. So he clears his throat, takes a breath, and speaks.]

I’m looking for someone.

[He pauses, feeling decidedly foolish. But the thought of finding Cersei is enough to spur him on.]

My sister, to be precise. Cersei. She’s very pretty. Blonde hair, green eyes… Essentially, me with tits. If you can help me find her, you’ll be handsomely rewarded.

[He offers his faceless audience a charming grin. He’s not entirely sure that his coin will be any good here, but gold is gold, is it not? And if his gold somehow fails him, well… he’ll find some way to repay the favor.]

Take me to her, and I’ll truly be in your debt. So long as she is unharmed, of course. If you’re thinking she’d make a lucrative hostage, rest assured, I will pay you back - in steel, not gold.

So. I believe that covers it. I’ll be waiting.

[And with that he snaps the locket shut, feeling a good deal more hopeful than he had just a few minutes ago. Cersei is far from quiet. Surely someone who’s encountered her will see his message. She may even see it herself.

He’ll be seeing her soon. He’s sure of it. And when he does… well, he’ll just have to demonstrate precisely how much he has missed her.]

[He frowns thoughtfully at the image the locket has presented him. There's something vaguely familiar about the girl, but he can't quite place her. Though, to be fair, he doesn't try all that hard either. He's far less interested in who she is than what she has said.]

Yes. Do you know her?

[It certainly sounded that way...]

[ ...gods be good, he doesn't know her. a breath seizes in her throat and she takes a very long time to try and mewl out some pitiful lie: ] Th-the Queen. Cersei Lannister -- everyone knows her name.

[ panicked. ]

Yes, I suppose they do...

[But there's something about her response that doesn't sit right. She seems far too nervous to be telling the truth.]

But something tells me you know more than just her name. [He narrows his eyes, trying again to place her.] Who are you?

...Alayne Stone, ser. [ because she knows who he is, but any idiot could determine that someone claiming to be the queen regent's brother must be ser jaime lannister. or else the other brother; her husband; she doesn't care to think of him.

there are some here who know her as alayne and some as sansa stark. but she would be alayne for as long as she could with this man. ]

[ should she pile on another lie to obscure the first? no. the first is simple. petyr would not have furnished her with it had he not thought it strong. ]

How intriguing. I wasn't aware that he had any children. [Though, if anyone could keep a child's existence hidden for the whole of her life, it would be Petyr. He was a slimy, sneaky little snake of a man.]

He only recently claimed me for who I was, ser. [ deep breath. ] And I am ever grateful he did.

Ah. [Well, that seems likely enough...] I'm sure you are.

[Something still doesn't sit quite right, but he can't put his finger on it.]

[ she'd better just play dumb, she supposes: ] Do you know my father, ser?

I am acquainted with him, yes. Though, not closely.

He spoke well of you, ser. If you are who I trust you are.

[ this lie, she decides, might help her out. ]

Is that so? And what did he say?

[He simply has to know. This is a virtually unprecedented occasion.]

He said that you were very -- [ this should be easy, she thinks ] -- skilled. With swords, of course. And that there is perhaps no finer swordsman in the Seven Kingdoms.

Did he? [He can't help but smile at that.] Well, he isn't wrong.

And you're brave! [ she's on a roll. ] Brave like a lion is brave.

[ these are old patterns; perhaps she need only speak as she once spoke of joffrey. ]

Now you're flattering me. [Not that he minds. Really, he could get used to this.]

No, ser. Merely repeating what's been told to me.
