[He frowns down at the open locket, perplexed. He’s been told that he need only speak, and it will carry his message to the masses. He can’t imagine how, though. And he’s not entirely convinced that he’s not being made a fool of. But it seems he has little lose except a bit of dignity, perhaps, and at the moment, at least, there’s no one around to see him. So he clears his throat, takes a breath, and speaks.]

I’m looking for someone.

[He pauses, feeling decidedly foolish. But the thought of finding Cersei is enough to spur him on.]

My sister, to be precise. Cersei. She’s very pretty. Blonde hair, green eyes… Essentially, me with tits. If you can help me find her, you’ll be handsomely rewarded.

[He offers his faceless audience a charming grin. He’s not entirely sure that his coin will be any good here, but gold is gold, is it not? And if his gold somehow fails him, well… he’ll find some way to repay the favor.]

Take me to her, and I’ll truly be in your debt. So long as she is unharmed, of course. If you’re thinking she’d make a lucrative hostage, rest assured, I will pay you back - in steel, not gold.

So. I believe that covers it. I’ll be waiting.

[And with that he snaps the locket shut, feeling a good deal more hopeful than he had just a few minutes ago. Cersei is far from quiet. Surely someone who’s encountered her will see his message. She may even see it herself.

He’ll be seeing her soon. He’s sure of it. And when he does… well, he’ll just have to demonstrate precisely how much he has missed her.]

[there's something a little gross about using the word "tits" in reference to your own sister, but maybe he's just a total boy scout. either way, he can't help but be sympathetic enough to overlook that little detail -- he misses his sister too.]

Do you know for sure that she's here? I'll keep an eye out either way, but I don't think they brought everyone from every place.

[He blinks, momentarily taken aback. Somehow, it hadn't occurred to him that she might not be here.]

Well, she might not be here, precisely, but she can't be too far. [He sounds certain still, but there are fine tendrils of doubt beginning to creep coldly into the pit of his stomach.]

Speaking of which, I don't suppose you would happen to know where exactly we are or how far it is from King's Landing...

[he grimaces a little at all that hope he's about to crush. gods know he doesn't like being the bearer of bad news.]

I guess no one's told you yet, but...wherever we are, it's an entirely different world than wherever you came from. And he people brought here come from all different kinds of worlds besides that. But getting from here back to wherever you're from isn't as simple as just walking until you get there -- it doesn't exist here at all.

[if it were that easy, he's have flown off a while ago to get back to his friends. but the convenient thing about having a friend with teleportation powers is that the whole "alternate worlds" thing was confirmed pretty quickly.]

[For a long moment he stands there, frowning, rolling the words around the way one may turn over an interesting stone, to see all of its facets and faces. He understands the words, themselves, but the implications are incomprehensible.

It doesn't exist here at all. If his world didn't exist here (a ridiculous, impossible notion, surely), then neither did the people in it. that would mean, there was no Cersei here.

That simply couldn't be.]

That's impossible. And ridiculous. There's only one world. And even if there wasn't, there would have to be some way to travel between wherever the hell this is and where we came from. How would we have gotten here, otherwise?

[Their captors were certainly creative. Obviously, this was a ploy to keep them from trying to escape. And this poor young man had been taken in by it. Poor, gullible fool.]

Magic.

[the answer to literally every inexplicable thing that happens ever. and not a hard thing to accept, given the shenanigans he puts up with regularly.]

I know it sounds ridiculous at first, but it's true. I mean, I've never heard of King's Landing, so I'm pretty sure that at least we come from two very different places. And I don't know if magic is really a thing where you're from, maybe that's why it's harder for you to believe, but it's definitely real in my world.

Magic?

[He makes no attempt to hide his incredulity. The boy must be mad. Or delusional. Or terribly misinformed. And yet...]

What makes you so sure? [Because that's the one thing bothering him here. He sounds so completely and utterly certain. Not mad at all.]

Where I come from, magic is just part of life for people like me.

[wisely, he's not going into the whole "my father is a god" thing, to avoid really sounding crazy.]

Here, it's just the only thing that makes sense.

[he's just used to waving off anything that can't be explained as "magic and gods being annoying", sorry.]

Earth, I guess? I'm from the US myself, but I doubt that makes any sense to anyone who isn't from there themselves.

[Jaime shakes his head, at a loss.]

[None of this makes any sense. He's never felt so... lost.]

You're saying we were brought here by... magic... [It still sounds ridiculous.] But... why? By who?

By the fairies for all the reasons they gave us, I'd guess. I'm not claiming to understand it any better than you.

Fairies... [He runs a hand over his face, exasperated, and then sighs heavily.]

Well. Thank you for all your... help. [He has more questions now than answers, but that's hardly the boy's fault.]
