her servant is fussing over her face and the conversation the two of them have cannot be heard, just seen-- the servant is busy trying to clean the princess up, make her suitable for speaking to an audience. by the time azula is able to readdress the locket, her face shows no sign of blood. ]

I am grateful for the hospitality provided, acknowledging that my status is well-respected within this... community. [ although it is clear by the tone of azula's voice that the respect is hardly mutual. ] However, I am afraid that whatever was done to bring me to this place needs to be reversed immediately. It is rude that I cannot find those truly in charge here to speak face to face, with such respect to royalty I assumed that finding those high-born would be a privilege granted to me.

I understand that my skills may be crucial to the Unseelie success, but I am in the middle of my own war and it is necessary I be returned to it.

You'll find that the monarchs here are, by and large, aloof. Audiences are granted occasionally, but I also suspect that your complaints would not be well responded to - if only because they would seem quite repetitive to them.

[Ah, now isn't this interesting. Another child engaging in casual slaughter of the imps. She sounds the same as the boy with his magic sword. Perhaps a bit more clever.]

In that we have much in common. Continue to slay these imps. The are beyond reasoning with. But no amount of bloodshed will expedite your return home. At least, not in that fashion.

[ for a long, heart-stopping moment, korra can't believe what she's seeing on the screen. it's true that she was never, ever that good at history, as she was always more focused on the physical side of bending as she grew up. she knew a few things—toph, sokka, katara, all the stories katara told her as korra mastered waterbending—but there are details left out of her education. details like ty lee and the ability to block someone's chi, preventing them from bending any of the elements.

she remembers the panic that settled in her gut the first night she can into amon's henchmen and felt their fists strike decisively against her chi paths.

there were no photographs of princess azula. no paintings of her available when she was a teenager in the war, and korra hasn't even had the chance to go into the fire nation more than running across the island of the fire sages but there's no mistaking this girl's clothing.

it's old. hundred years' war old, probably, and definitely of the fire nation. korra can't be sure, but she has a sneaking suspicion. and for the first time, perhaps showing that she's learning from all the lessons of patience and thought from tenzin, korra deems it necessary to err on the side of caution. ]
