[VIDEO] 9 April [SEELIE] A Call to Arms [OPEN]
[ The video is aimed largely past the speaker, to the twichting-writhing forms of three snake-like horned-creatures, the crackles of electricity still racing across their scales as they move. The locket is likely proper up on a rock or tree somewhere, as the speaker is turned to face the worms, his arms up and tattoos glowing electricity crackles from his hands. He is standing on land near a small river-stream near farmsteads. ]
Attention.
I am Kaldur’ahm, recently brought here with the rest of you. I was exploring the rivers and streams nearby and found that several had been blocked by these creatures, and that they were attacking the farms homesteads.
[ One of the worms seems to recover from the temporary paralysis, and lunges towards Kaldur, who leaps away and grasps two devices firmly in his hands. He jumps up again slams downwards on its tail with a water-formed spiked mace, inadvertently severing part of the tip from the worm. He bats the rest of the worm back further away and continues. ]
I am requesting assistance. Several of the civilians have been bitten, and are displaying signs of being in a critical condition due to the creature’s venom. I have been attempting to combat these worms for a few hours, and they grow more resistant to my electric paralyzation with each attempt I try.
[ The severed tail-end starts wriggling violently, and he forms a sledgehammer to knock it back several yards, closer to the still-paralyzed worms. ]
They are quick to regenerate from severed pieces, like echinoderms.
I need those who can help me combat these creatures and those who can help transport the injured to the castle, as well as individuals to help care for those injured by the worms.
{{ooc: The four first comments titled as "Alpha Squad", "Beta Squad", "Gamma Squad" and "Support Team" are for the 'action' part. (Where I will also attempt to GM as worms if people so desire). Feel free to answer the comm itself before immediately jumping into action, or to handwave being assigned to the team you are on and head straight for the action, as well as forming your own little threadlines!
They are more for organization purposes and keeping your squad-mates straight than anything else, and any number of threads can be started below the heading!
NOTE: IC'ly, the Squad assignations are happening on the spot.}}

Garth - OTA
So far, two fighters of smallish size were making quick work of a worm, tearing through it like it was nothing.
Garth shot his gun, aiming for the head, and hit his target. It stunned the worm, slowing it, but didn't kill it. He pulled his knife out, and one weapon in each hand, ran forward to help the other members of the gamma squad.]

He joins up at Garth's side, the mace smoothing liquidly into twin swords. ]
Do you have methods to supply the wounds with fire? A quick fire-cauterization of the wounds prevents healing.
no subject
There are worms all around them, but none directly in their path, giving Garth time to answer his question.]
Fire? I don't have any way to make it, as in the way that you have powers. But I can start a fire from scratch, then use it to make a torch.
[He stopped to catch his breath, shoulders heaving from the exertion of fighting.]
But all that would be time consuming, ten minutes or more.

[ It isn't hard, with the stream nearby, his arms alight with the magical energy as he slowly draws water from the river in huge amounts, weaving it out of the way of the other combatants as it forms into its own large serpent, coiling its way to Kaldur's side. ]
What do you need.

[With that, Garth moved away from Kaldur, trusting the man to protect him. He made quick work of finding the things he needed to start a fire. Brush, dry branches, and most importantly, stones.
He used his knife to dig a small hole in the dirt, dropping the brush into it. He pulled the branches close, so that they were ready to feed the fire once it was made. He grabbed one of the stones, and digging his knife into the side, pulled down quickly. Nothing. He repeated the step to no avail, dropped the rock, and applied the same method to the next.
It was a common misconception that the rock had to be flint, anything hard enough could be used. The fifth rock, a small white one that was possibly quartz, sparked. He placed it close to the brush, and flicked the knife until the sparks caught on the brush. He leaned in close, blowing until it flamed.
He laid the branches over it, the fire ankle high now. He stood, running back into the trees to find a branch sturdy enough to make into a torch. Once found, he returned to his small fire and built more broken branches around it. Practically a bonfire, he thought to himself. Certainly the fastest fire he had ever built. He tore a piece of his shirt off and wrapped it around the branch, then lit it.
It wouldn't burn forever without some form of fire accelerator, like an oil or kerosene, but it would work for now. He made his way towards Kaldur, torch extended.]

Every time a worm is swallowed, he sends electricity through the construct, the water carrying the charge and stunning the worm to lessen its struggling.
He moves to deal with each one individually, keeping them away from the slowly-building fire and Garth both. As Garth approaches, he finally lets the serpent revert to water, and stuns the last worm nearby. ]
If we use the fire to seal the wounds and burn the pieces, perhaps we can kill a worm for good.
[ He steps somewhat aside, holding the twitching worm still with his strength to allow for Garth to use the torch and seal the wounds, but makes no move to take the torch from him. ]
If you can help defend the fire, and keep it growing while others are able to use it we may begin to make some serious headway into defeating our foes.

Kaldur!
[Garth leaps back, shock and amazement clear on his face.]
It's working. The creatures own blood is acting as a...some sort of...catalyst.
[The worm was still alive, but the combination of Kaldur's attack and fire, have slowed it. Garth rushes back towards the worm. He slices down with his knife, immediately touching the torch to the new wound and the piece he had cut off. The smell was horrific, and the worm screeched in a way he had never heard before. It was a slow process, but the worm was too heavily injured to fight back.]

Garth [ And it is strange, in that moment how it feels he is speaking to another Garth, one who had been his closest friend for many years. ] Let us see if we can kill these creatures.
[ Normally, he would be focused more on the preservation of life. But there are no mere predators, there is something wrong-seeming, unnatural about them, and it seems that nothing short of death can truly turn them form their task or slow them down. ]
no subject
[He pointed towards the river bank, and then gestured above them.]
[The others had found similar means to killing the worms. Chopping them and burning them seemed to be the most effective. There were dragons, dragons, circling overhead, and doing their master's bidding.]
no subject
[ He's off again, trying to find the others to let them know, and to aid any else who need it. ]

Later, he notices the fire. By then he's heard the plan, and he tries to do his part to support it, hastening to get felled worms burnt to keep them down, hopefully for good.]
no subject
Garth rushed forward, a branch that he'd lit on fire in his hand. He extended it towards the man.]
Here, this could help.
no subject
Thank you. Fire is their weakness, then? [Or would hundreds spring up from any ashes?]
no subject
[Garth gestured towards the section of the worm that the other had burned.]
We've been slicing and burning them, and they haven't come back yet.
[Garth moved back to the fire, for his own branch, and quickly came back. He shoved his knife into the worm, and, with very little grace, sliced a chunk off. He pressed the the fire to the worm's flesh, searing and stopping it from healing itself.]
