[VIDEO] 9 April [SEELIE] A Call to Arms [OPEN]
[ The video is aimed largely past the speaker, to the twichting-writhing forms of three snake-like horned-creatures, the crackles of electricity still racing across their scales as they move. The locket is likely proper up on a rock or tree somewhere, as the speaker is turned to face the worms, his arms up and tattoos glowing electricity crackles from his hands. He is standing on land near a small river-stream near farmsteads. ]
Attention.
I am Kaldur’ahm, recently brought here with the rest of you. I was exploring the rivers and streams nearby and found that several had been blocked by these creatures, and that they were attacking the farms homesteads.
[ One of the worms seems to recover from the temporary paralysis, and lunges towards Kaldur, who leaps away and grasps two devices firmly in his hands. He jumps up again slams downwards on its tail with a water-formed spiked mace, inadvertently severing part of the tip from the worm. He bats the rest of the worm back further away and continues. ]
I am requesting assistance. Several of the civilians have been bitten, and are displaying signs of being in a critical condition due to the creature’s venom. I have been attempting to combat these worms for a few hours, and they grow more resistant to my electric paralyzation with each attempt I try.
[ The severed tail-end starts wriggling violently, and he forms a sledgehammer to knock it back several yards, closer to the still-paralyzed worms. ]
They are quick to regenerate from severed pieces, like echinoderms.
I need those who can help me combat these creatures and those who can help transport the injured to the castle, as well as individuals to help care for those injured by the worms.
{{ooc: The four first comments titled as "Alpha Squad", "Beta Squad", "Gamma Squad" and "Support Team" are for the 'action' part. (Where I will also attempt to GM as worms if people so desire). Feel free to answer the comm itself before immediately jumping into action, or to handwave being assigned to the team you are on and head straight for the action, as well as forming your own little threadlines!
They are more for organization purposes and keeping your squad-mates straight than anything else, and any number of threads can be started below the heading!
NOTE: IC'ly, the Squad assignations are happening on the spot.}}

BETA SQUAD
minako; ota
Sailor Venus kisses the gloved palm of her hand with a smile at the worm, today she'll show it just what a sailor senshi is capable of as she raises her arm.
Venus Love and Beauty Shock!

You do excellent work. I ask only caution, that you not cut too deep. Any full severance will result in full regeneration of the pieces into new monsters. Only cauterization seems to create permanent damage.

Are there any places where we should be aiming our attacks? There has to be a weak spot. [She said with a frown, jumping back slightly as one of the worms approaches her.]

[ Kaldur's arms go up, quickly forming a shield of water for the worm to crash against.
He then directs the water to shoot out at it with a stream and sends electricity along the waterflow to shock the worm. ]
Truly, only fire seems to be causing lasting damage. I am trying to ensure such that each squad has some sort of fire supply.
no subject
We're going to need a lot of that fire power and soon!
no subject
I will see to getting beta squad a reliable fire supply.

[Venus said seriously before she springs back into action, sword in hand now.]
Aang, planning and combat
[Goddamn it, who let the twelve-year-old monk kid come? Can a responsible adult shoo him off or something?
Aang crouches to the ground, a healthy distance from the worms churning in the water.]
Before we fight, we should figure out how we want to fight these things. I think I can make them sit still for a while, but how do we get them to leave?
[Combat]
[Never mind. The monk kid can fight.
He jumps a surprising distance, landing lightly on his feet in front of the worms. As the worms turn to face him, he arcs his arm upwards, and the water they sit in follows his motion. The river swirls up the bodies of the worms, and freezes solid, trapping the now-shrieking worms. The shrieks make the boy stumble for a moment, holding his ears, and his concentration is shot just enough for one, then two of the worms to break out of the ice.
They both strike out, attempting to snap him in their jaws, but the boy jumped again, practically floating in the air before landing lightly out of their reach.
So who wants to lend a hand?]
b.
she will waste absolutely no time leaping into the fray, summoning flames that lick around her fingertips and sending it forward to crash and spill over the worms as they break free of their icy prison. their screams impaled her ears but she keeps going, feeling the warm hum of energy all through her. there's just no helping it with her: she knows herself best when she's in the thick of a fight; there's no second-guessing, no thinking. it's just her and her energy and all of it is focused on bringing these creatures down so they don't hurt anyone else.
out of the corner of her eye korra keeps an eye on aang before she really gets down to business. with hands outstretched, korra summons the ice to her, melting it into water and forming a water whip around one outstretched hand and lashing forward, catching the worm on its side and knocking it off balance. ]

Aang is holding his own just fine, though noticeably, he doesn't seem to be trying to hurt the worms so much as tire them out. He weaves between them with speed and grace only an airbender achieve, standing still just long enough to allow them to try striking before moving away, leading two to start getting tangled together, distracted as they are by the slippery snack.
This whole time, he doesn't seem too tired out. He just swirls in and out, until the two worms strike at the same time and only end up sinking their fangs into each other.]

anything to be a better fighter, a better avatar.
as blood pours from a wound in the worm, korra drags in a deep gulp of air and leaps forward, this time to douse the animal with fire, cauterizing the wound and hearing the animal scream in pain.
but she really should watch her back... just because she's dealing with the one in front of her doesn't mean that the rest of the worms are keeping to themselves, and it looks like they don't take too kindly to any comrades falling in the line of duty. ]
no subject
But, he sees, Korra isn't so lucky.]
Behind you!
[With a swift movement, he lifts streams of water from the river and jabs them towards the worms approaching her from behind, freezing them into shards of ice midair. Ice buries itself into the worms' flesh and eyes and they throw their heads back, thrashing and screaming.]
Celebrimbor: OTA
Well he had wanted a distraction and this would certainly count as one.
He rushes forward, a roar bubbling from his lips. His footing is sure, even in the river, and neatly stidesteps one of the beasts as it lunges towards him. He wants to aim for the head but it jerks back far to quickly, and so his axe slices deeply into the side of the beast with a meaty thunk, and he leaps back when a foul ichor pours from the wound, hissing. He remembers Kaldur's words and is careful not to sever it, lest more grow in its stead.]
isaac lahey ; ota.
he doesn't have eyes on the back of his head, though, and he can't keep up with the amounts of worms that keep coming, and the ones that keep coming back to life, too. he'll take a break here and there to regain his energy, but he keeps to the fight for a good while, not paying attention to how nasty his clothes and skin are getting. he does hate the feeling of clawing out entrails and being covered in blood, though.]
