[VIDEO] 9 April [SEELIE] A Call to Arms [OPEN]

[ The video is aimed largely past the speaker, to the twichting-writhing forms of three snake-like horned-creatures, the crackles of electricity still racing across their scales as they move. The locket is likely proper up on a rock or tree somewhere, as the speaker is turned to face the worms, his arms up and tattoos glowing electricity crackles from his hands. He is standing on land near a small river-stream near farmsteads. ]

Attention.

I am Kaldur’ahm, recently brought here with the rest of you. I was exploring the rivers and streams nearby and found that several had been blocked by these creatures, and that they were attacking the farms homesteads.

[ One of the worms seems to recover from the temporary paralysis, and lunges towards Kaldur, who leaps away and grasps two devices firmly in his hands. He jumps up again slams downwards on its tail with a water-formed spiked mace, inadvertently severing part of the tip from the worm. He bats the rest of the worm back further away and continues. ]

I am requesting assistance. Several of the civilians have been bitten, and are displaying signs of being in a critical condition due to the creature’s venom. I have been attempting to combat these worms for a few hours, and they grow more resistant to my electric paralyzation with each attempt I try.

[ The severed tail-end starts wriggling violently, and he forms a sledgehammer to knock it back several yards, closer to the still-paralyzed worms. ]

They are quick to regenerate from severed pieces, like echinoderms.

I need those who can help me combat these creatures and those who can help transport the injured to the castle, as well as individuals to help care for those injured by the worms.

[Kili winces slightly as she applies the paste but stays still. Lothlorien...something about the name stirs something in his memory but he can't quite place where he knows it from.]

Kili, of Ered Luin. At your service.

Ered Luin, the Blue Mountains.

[She knows it though she'd never been. When Eregion had been destroyed, some of the survivors, she knows, had fled to Lindon. Just west of Ered Luin.]

I have heard of it.

[kilimanjaro]

[Kili's eyes brighten at that and he smiles, giving a small nod.] I've lived there all my life.

[silvergift]

I regret to say that I have never been. I have lived in Eregion, Lothlórien and Imladris in my life but that is all.

[She sets aside her tools, content with the bite being covered and checks his bruises. Nothing she can really do for those but she can at least make sure that there are no broken bones beneath.]

[kilimanjaro]

[He hisses softly as she presses at his bruises, but there's no broken bones. Dwarf bones are pretty hard to break, after all.]

It's beautiful. Mountains, forests, rivers... Winters are hard, but you get used to it.

[There's a sort of longing in his voice.]

[They are and she knows this, knows well the dwarves of Moria, but they can still break. And she knows not the strength of the worms.]

You miss it. [Not a question.] It sounds lovely. I cannot blame you.

[kilimanjaro]

[He nods slightly, wincing as she works.]

Aye. I've not been away from home for more than a few weeks. It's been months now that I've been on the road, and now here.

[silvergift]

[It's not long before she's content enough with his condition that she stops poking and prodding at his bruises.]

I understand. There are rare occasions where I spent more than a few weeks or a few months away from home. And I missed it so.

[kilimanjaro]

[He gives her a small, grateful smile.] Aye. It's...difficult.

[silvergift]

At least we may all take comfort that being parted from home is never permanent. You will see your home again.

[kilimanjaro]

We're going to a new home now. [Kili hesitates.] One of our homes of old.

[silvergift]

I imagine it must be quite a change.

[She doesn't comment on the last part, unable to think of anywhere that would qualify as one of the dwarves old homes.]

[kilimanjaro]

If we even get there, it will be. [Kili sighs and looks up.]

...Forgive me, I'm rambling.

[silvergift]

You are forgiven. [She smiles, amused.]

And I am sure you will. Dwarves, I know, are very determined.

[kilimanjaro]

[Kili smiles at that, going a little pink.] Aye, I suppose we are. [He pauses for a moment.] Well, am I good to go?

[silvergift]

[Wow Kili, she's not sure that her words were enough for you to blush~]

You are. Do be cautious and try not to be bitten again.
