[VIDEO] 9 April [SEELIE] A Call to Arms [OPEN]

[ The video is aimed largely past the speaker, to the twichting-writhing forms of three snake-like horned-creatures, the crackles of electricity still racing across their scales as they move. The locket is likely proper up on a rock or tree somewhere, as the speaker is turned to face the worms, his arms up and tattoos glowing electricity crackles from his hands. He is standing on land near a small river-stream near farmsteads. ]

Attention.

I am Kaldur’ahm, recently brought here with the rest of you. I was exploring the rivers and streams nearby and found that several had been blocked by these creatures, and that they were attacking the farms homesteads.

[ One of the worms seems to recover from the temporary paralysis, and lunges towards Kaldur, who leaps away and grasps two devices firmly in his hands. He jumps up again slams downwards on its tail with a water-formed spiked mace, inadvertently severing part of the tip from the worm. He bats the rest of the worm back further away and continues. ]

I am requesting assistance. Several of the civilians have been bitten, and are displaying signs of being in a critical condition due to the creature’s venom. I have been attempting to combat these worms for a few hours, and they grow more resistant to my electric paralyzation with each attempt I try.

[ The severed tail-end starts wriggling violently, and he forms a sledgehammer to knock it back several yards, closer to the still-paralyzed worms. ]

They are quick to regenerate from severed pieces, like echinoderms.

I need those who can help me combat these creatures and those who can help transport the injured to the castle, as well as individuals to help care for those injured by the worms.

In the wake of anyone else willing to assume that responsibility, I am.

[ Until the High-King and High-Queen make themselves known, at least. ]

There are attacks ranging across both Glaschu and Dorchadas, the Unseelie have unwittingly confirmed as much across the lockets. Whether it is a feint or not, I would prefer to keep competent soldiers close to the castle and will not permit them to leave through the gatehouse while my Arts hold it shut.

[ Lockdown is in effect, until the wounded require admittance. So there are knights at the stronghold, whether they want to be in on the action or not; this Elf has put his foot down on so much impetuous folly. ]

[ That is a sensible answer, at least, and calms his immediate anxieties. He doesn't know what Thranduil's "Arts" may be, but hopes very much that they involve a portcullis or several. ]

Our party has parted briefly, to better explore the area, and were to rendezvous this afternoon. But I will return to his side at once.

[ He cocks his head when Legolas is mentioned. ]

[ The statement is cool, but the unblinking intensity in his eyes tells a different story. ]

Er.

[ His tongue feels like it doesn't belong to him. Why do people have to go and thank him for things, it's very uncomfortable. He never knows what to say. If he says yes, then that means he's agreeing that a king is in his debt, even though he hasn't done anything at all worth mentioning. If he protests, then he's contradicting a king, and nobles don't like that very much. If he says "it's nothing," then he's implying Legolas isn't important.

Lady Sinclair used to tell him to bow and say, "you're welcome," but that always seemed... wrong, somehow. Maybe he'll just bow.
