[VIDEO] 9 April [SEELIE] A Call to Arms [OPEN]

[ The video is aimed largely past the speaker, to the twichting-writhing forms of three snake-like horned-creatures, the crackles of electricity still racing across their scales as they move. The locket is likely proper up on a rock or tree somewhere, as the speaker is turned to face the worms, his arms up and tattoos glowing electricity crackles from his hands. He is standing on land near a small river-stream near farmsteads. ]

Attention.

I am Kaldur’ahm, recently brought here with the rest of you. I was exploring the rivers and streams nearby and found that several had been blocked by these creatures, and that they were attacking the farms homesteads.

[ One of the worms seems to recover from the temporary paralysis, and lunges towards Kaldur, who leaps away and grasps two devices firmly in his hands. He jumps up again slams downwards on its tail with a water-formed spiked mace, inadvertently severing part of the tip from the worm. He bats the rest of the worm back further away and continues. ]

I am requesting assistance. Several of the civilians have been bitten, and are displaying signs of being in a critical condition due to the creature’s venom. I have been attempting to combat these worms for a few hours, and they grow more resistant to my electric paralyzation with each attempt I try.

[ The severed tail-end starts wriggling violently, and he forms a sledgehammer to knock it back several yards, closer to the still-paralyzed worms. ]

They are quick to regenerate from severed pieces, like echinoderms.

I need those who can help me combat these creatures and those who can help transport the injured to the castle, as well as individuals to help care for those injured by the worms.

[With a quick swing of her sword, Elincia slams the flat of her blade over the head of a worm, stunning it and makes her way quickly to Mako's side, sheathing her sword for now and draws out her staff. Had he been one of her own soldiers or an ally from home, she would have healed him from a distance. But judging by his fighting style, he wasn't and she didn't want to disorientate him with a healing spell he wasn't expecting.

She holds out her staff and gently presses it to Mako's chest and a soft blue glow envelops him]

Please hold still.

[She keeps a wary eye out on any worms but for now, they seem more interested in attacking the more obvious threat]

How are you feeling?

[Not quite talking about the more obvious injuries]

[ mako, well acquainted enough with healers to know to hold still while they work, freezes, trying not to move despite his aching muscles -- he'd really like to just sit down on the ground and slump back against the tree, but he knows he cant. that doesn't stop him from staring down at her staff in fascination, feeling the cool trickle of its power against his bones. this is so weird, he'd love to stop and ask questions but, again, not the time. ]

I've been better. [ first he'd burnt up a lot of his chi in the fight against unalaq and the the spirits at the harmonic convergence, now he's doing it again, without proper time to entirely recuperate in between. he's breathing a little heavy, despite his fitness, and he shakes his head to keep the sweat from getting in his eyes. ]

[She focuses for just a little longer and soon, it's like Mako was never injured in the first place. It doesn't make up for his lost chi reserves though.

She frowns thoughtfully to herself as she puts her staff away, searching through her things to see if there was anything she could give him to aid him]

If you're running low on energy, you should fall back. We can cover for you until you're well enough again.

[Had Mako been one of her retainers, it would have been an order. But since he wasn't, it was more of a gentle request. This was too much for one person to handle on their own. And since her sword didn't burn anything...]

[jaywalks]

[ wow, that was incredible! and not to mention, hella fast.

he appreciates the concern, but shakes his head. ]

No, I'll manage. [ taking advantage of the brief respite, he rolls his shoulders a few times, the joints popping as he watches the rest of the team work against the worms. ]

But... [ thoughtful pause. ] ... if we can get a fire going somewhere on its own for the cut worms, it'd be helpful. I can control that without having to make it, which'll save energy, and we can put a second person on roasting duty.

[A thoughtful look crosses Elincia's face as she pulls out an Elixer from her things. Mako might not need it now but later, if he needed a quick boost in energy and a heal all at once...

When Begnion had raided from villages on her country's border, they had not used fire mages to set the houses alight. They only bothered with torches, didn't they? ]

If we can send people out to get some materials...flame-able wood, oil, flint. We could either hand everyone a torch to burn things down or set up a bonfire big enough to burn the worms in. You wouldn't have to put in so much energy that way...

[jaywalks]

[ he nods as she talks — then jerks his head in derek's direction. ] Maybe have the big guy see if he can toss them on it.

[devotedqueen]

[She glances over--he looked like he could handle it]

We'll need to gather supplies to keep a steady fire going too.

[She hands him the elixir]

Here. Don't drink this yet, but if you find yourself wearing down in the middle of battle and taking injuries, take one drink. It should heal any injuries and restore your energy.

[jaywalks]

[ he takes it carefully, eyeing the vial's contents with a raised eyebrow. before carefully slipping it in his coat pocket -- he doesn't have any packs to speak of, and if he did, they'd get in the way of his bending. ]

[Elincia nods and packs away her things, drawing her sword out again. If Mako didn't need her aid anymore, she'd throw herself back into that fight]

I'll see if there's anything I can do about setting up a bonfire and if that man can assist in helping.

[jaywalks]

[ he nods and stands properly, brushing dirt from his coat to no avail (it's habit, he doesn't like to be dirty even if he has to) and nodding as he starts walking back to the best vantage point to zap worms. ]

Gimme a shout when you need it lit.

[And she disappears into the fray, looking for people who could possibly lend a hand]
