[VIDEO] 9 April [SEELIE] A Call to Arms [OPEN]

[ The video is aimed largely past the speaker, to the twichting-writhing forms of three snake-like horned-creatures, the crackles of electricity still racing across their scales as they move. The locket is likely proper up on a rock or tree somewhere, as the speaker is turned to face the worms, his arms up and tattoos glowing electricity crackles from his hands. He is standing on land near a small river-stream near farmsteads. ]

Attention.

I am Kaldur’ahm, recently brought here with the rest of you. I was exploring the rivers and streams nearby and found that several had been blocked by these creatures, and that they were attacking the farms homesteads.

[ One of the worms seems to recover from the temporary paralysis, and lunges towards Kaldur, who leaps away and grasps two devices firmly in his hands. He jumps up again slams downwards on its tail with a water-formed spiked mace, inadvertently severing part of the tip from the worm. He bats the rest of the worm back further away and continues. ]

I am requesting assistance. Several of the civilians have been bitten, and are displaying signs of being in a critical condition due to the creature’s venom. I have been attempting to combat these worms for a few hours, and they grow more resistant to my electric paralyzation with each attempt I try.

[ The severed tail-end starts wriggling violently, and he forms a sledgehammer to knock it back several yards, closer to the still-paralyzed worms. ]

They are quick to regenerate from severed pieces, like echinoderms.

I need those who can help me combat these creatures and those who can help transport the injured to the castle, as well as individuals to help care for those injured by the worms.

They are more for organization purposes and keeping your squad-mates straight than anything else, and any number of threads can be started below the heading!

[Kili skips the pleasantries and goes straight to business.]

I can fight. [He'll just have to pick up a bow...somewhere...]

[ Kaldur manages to stun some of the worms again, and is directly facing the feed. ]

I am trying to organize those who have volunteered into teams, as this is not a task to be undertake alone.

[Kili'd been in a bit of a hurry and there hadn't been time to find a bow before joining the fray. Armed only with a single dagger, not at all his weapon of choice or fighting style of expertise, the young dwarf charges into battle with a whoop and a shout of du bekar!

Mahal, he's always wanted to say that.]

I can help!

[Giant worms. There's no hesitance in her voice; people are in trouble. ]

[Ideally this isn't where Bilbo wants to be. He isn't a warrior by any definition of the word, but here he is somehow. Kili is to blame for this definitely.

At least he still has Sting (and his ring, tucked away safely in his pocket if- when he'll need it) and he follows closely behind Kili, gripping the hilt of his Elvish dagger tightly.]

You have my gratitude. Another individual has also offered his services. Kili. If you could coordinate with him, so that those join together in groups, lest other creatures be encountered on the way to here.

[Kili bobs his head in agreement.]

Kili, at your service. I don't know much about leadership, but if you would like to point others in my direction, I will do my best.

If further direction is need, myself and others with experience can be of assistance on the field, but I have faith that you can work with others to accomplish this task as it is.

I simply do not wish others to stumble into the situation as I have, without back-up to rely upon in case more worms appear before a team can reach it here to assist.

[His hand has slipped into his pocket more than five times now and five times now he has almost slipped on the ring and become invisible. It would be handy to fight with it on he knows, but he resists the temptation for now.

... At least until he's out of sight. It would be troublesome to explain how he can do such a thing especially in a situation like this.

He throws himself into a lunge at one of the worms, burying his blade into its side before it can reach its intended victim. An odd sight for anyone who may happen to catch it in action.]

[Kili is always to blame for this. Not to mention it had started out as a challenge, goading Bilbo and teasing him about his little letter opener of a sword.

Not that he has much to fight with at the moment, just a dagger that he's fairly certain was Fili's to begin with. He grins back at Bilbo, his eyes bright and glittering with something dangerous and rather fey, teeth bared. There's blood on his dagger already, splattered across his face, but he doesn't seem to care.]

I told you it would be fun.

Thank you. [A smile pulls at his lips.]

Rest assured, my brother and I will be at your back at the very least.

Of course, I can definitely do that!

For the moment, I have assigned your group the title Gamma Squad, so that those who are supporting us back at the castle can better direct help.

[ Kaldur's lips twitch briefly into a smile as well, but his eyebrows furrow quickly back to business ]

I have temporarily assigned your group to be Gamma Squad, and if you could act as an informal squad leader at this time until you have arrived to help with the worms, I would greatly appreciate it.

This is not my idea of fun! [At least Sting isn't a dag... Well.]

If you injure yourself again I will never let you hear the end of it, is that understood? [Of course Bilbo has a higher chance of getting hurt than Kili, which he is well aware of.]

[Kili nods, and he absently reaches into his pocket to toy with the runestone there.]

Understood.

I'm afraid that I'm no warrior, but perhaps I could help tend to the injured.

Aye, mother. [Kili rolls his eyes at Bilbo.] You watch yourself too, mind. Thorin would have my hide if I let something happen to you.

Thank you, that would be greatly appreciated. I am hoping that a team can be organized back at the Castle, as squads manage to come in bearing injured such that they are cared for, as well as preparations for any injuries sustained by those who are battling the worms.

A. OTA!

[ They who leave the castle to fight alongside those in need do so under the watchful eye of the Elvenking, right up until the last of them ride out. It's then that he imprints his own Art, akin to a Shutting Spell, on the grand gatehouse of the castle proper and its portcullis, cementing them in place; nothing will shift them, destroy them or gain entry to those ill-equipped to bear arms within the stronghold's walls. On occasion, when he receives notices via the lockets from those outside, the gates are opened to admit the wounded. They seal with finality each time they close.

He can be found sending those who need weapons to the armoury and arranging the guards atop the outer battlements into a better defensive position where they might keep watch, his crown of leaves left behind in his chambers within the Keep. There is a tent erected in the bailey (at his command via the servants) and within it are no chairs but a table and a large map of the Drabwurld with small figurines placed on it, markers that cite worm-attacks. All in all, he moves swiftly from here to there, as one who has run his own fortress is prone to do. If anyone needs to contact the castle and report in, whether by locket or otherwise, he isn't opposed to being the one that networks the worsening situation. ]

[ He calls his son once the first wave of the injured have returned, tracking his way from the bailey to the infirmary as he uses his inherent Arts to send those who have had the good fortune to already be treated by the healers into a restful sleep. ]

[Celebrimbor's eyes widen as the sight of the sight of the giant creatures, but his features tighten, eyes narrowing. He's been in a funk, stumbling from moment to moment, ever since Legolas told him what happened to Eregion. His eyes flick to his axe, inexplicably brought along with him to this world. Or perhaps not as inexplicably as he thought.

He could stew in his thoughts, or he could go out, and help his Seelie compatriots. Silently he reached for his weapon, long, calloused fingers curling around the iron-wrapped haft.]

I can help. And I can fight.
