002 / Unseelie + Seelie / (Written + Voice)
[Unseelie - Written]
With regards to my fellow members of the court, I will be taking my leave of your presence and riding out from Caer Scima to patrol the borders of the Unseelie lands and to explore the country that lies beyond these walls. With me will ride Celegorm and his command of soldiers. Whether you are warriors or not, I would invite you to join us. You will have safe passage among our number.
For those who do not yet know me, I am Ganondorf of the Gerudo, King of Hyrule. I have spent my life in the mastery of sorcery, swordplay, equitation, and survival. Those who wish to learn from me are welcome to do so. Others who wish to find favor with the High Queen will find it among our number. Those who wish to repay those who raided our castle will find satisfaction.
You Companion In Arms,
Ganondorf Dragmire
[Open - Voice]
[When he speaks now to both Seelie and Unseelie, his tone is calm and measured, almost friendly. He now practices the sweet tongue he mastered when he showed friendship to the King of Hyrule. He is as polite as he is generous, but his words are punctuated with a finality that does not invite objection. There is nothing cruel about his words, but there is no kindness in them either. He is delivering the truth, as he sees it, and damned be anyone who objects to it.]
Recently, one among the Seelie was caught within Unseelie territory without explanation for his intrusion. There may be more yet trespass outside their lands. If you submit yourself to me, you will be safely escorted to your own lands. On that you have my word. But should my soldiers come across you, I cannot make promises for your continued survival. My name is Ganondorf and I advise you that you act wisely in this matter. We are at war, but that does not mean we cannot act civil in these matters.
[Afterwards, he can be found in the stables of Caer Scima, where he is resaddling his large black stallion. Those who wish to speak to him in person may go there.]

Fucking WOW.His own contained calm is a tempest locked in chains, the hardness to his tone only sporting an inquiring lilt. ]What was the name of your captive?
voice »
[A lie. He is no fool as to be drawn too deep into this strange elvish conflict. Perhaps he already was too deep. But in the end, he could only resent Celegorm not simply slaying the elf prince.]

My apologies. That fit of rage should have fallen upon my head, not yours. Were he not kin of mine I would cut him from gut to gullet for such offense.
What day do we mean to ride? I mean to collect another force of mercenary men, with gold and coin won in our efforts so far; perhaps to swell our ranks to three-hundred, in parts of cavalry, infantry, and pikemen 'lest you prefer a lighter, swifter force made more of light and heavy horse.

I would like to be gone by tomorrow, no later than the end of this week. Like you, I wish to bolster our ranks, and I have a taste for us to find stronger foes to battle. I would like to observe the strength of our queen's boon.

[She's carrying a neutral tone. She doesn't know the whole story, but damn. It's hard not to notice that shouting. ]

[Yes. The shouting. It does rather detract from his friendly gesture. If anything, he'd been trying to do damage control for Celegorm's rashness.]

[ You absolute freaking idiot is the bare translation. It doesn't help that she is particularly fond of the elvenkin. ]

I do not command Caer Scima, nor do I much care for the conflict between the elves and their kin. My offer is genuine, so that others should not meet the same fate.

Truly? And you would offer this without repayment or reward, when you have only to gain should you encounter an enemy trespassing upon your lands?

but this confirms it. she toys gently with the chain of her locket and thinks on what is being offered: escorts; safe passage; words. but words are wind and an escort is only a kind way of caring for a hostage. no. she will not urge ser gendry that they should find this man who makes promises and then promises to make no others. very likely they are better off alone and gambling on the chance that they might be overlooked in enemy lands.
so she snaps her locket shut. but only after making a point to remember this stranger's voice. she thought it sounded like another she'd heard, once. turns and turns ago. ]
Text, pointedly not locked
Do you really think it wise to make yourself the sole arbiter of what adds up to potential hostage situations? Or to make death implications for people that may very well not be intending to prolong this conflict they got dropped into the middle of?
Text, locked to the unseelie
I do not savor taking credit for another man's actions. But the blame laid at my feet was playing party to the elf prince's captivity and that I did not deny, for that much was true.
But there will be no avoiding this conflict. You and others may wish to hide from it, but you and all of them are the single most valuable resources in this conflict. Before this ends, there will be people far more savage and ruthless than me and those that seek peace will be hunted like beasts. Better then that there be those in this war who will fight with some sense of honor, even if it is not the pacifism you desire.
