So I know a lot of people probably have a lot of training under their belts already, routines they have no interest in changing, and the last thing anyone wants to hear is a new kid asking more questions, but- [ she shrugs ] Here I am.

For whatever reason, the monarchs decided to take me from right before I was about to start my formal training. [ a beat ] Formal in the sense that I was about to be someone's second. A total bad-ass literally told me I would start my training "tomorrow", but- [ then those sTUPID IMPS HAD TO GO AND- okay, not getting mad about the imps again. moving on. ] I've learned how to use a knife, and I've learned a lot of combat movement, stealth, the basics. But I never got much time to practice. So that's what I'm asking for now - people who want to practice.

New people, probably, but people who know what's useful and what's not in a war like this would obviously be good too. People who have a lot to learn, but won't be afraid to get hurt and mess up, then get up and try it again. People who won't shove my inexperience down my throat, but won't go easy on me either. I don't need to be babied, I need to be taught. [ another pause ] No magic, not yet. I get it, we need to learn it, but I need to know my way around a blade before I try figuring out any of that crap.

Which means I need a weapon of my own. Mine, not something borrowed. I know I can't fight a war with a small blade, but I don't want a sword either. [ not yet ] I want something more like a machete. Anybody know where I can get my hands on something like that? I'll work for it. Whatever it takes.

-- And that's it. Let me know.

[It's been a...strange few weeks. Even with being used to other worlds by the time of his arrival, he's never stayed for this long. By now, Terra has a fair idea of how things work around here, and if not an idea, then he can guess at least. Or at least he thinks he's got this. In front of him, there's a chess set, set up in a rather peculiar way compared to most. For instance, there are a few raised platforms, and the pieces, while obviously still intended for their original uses, look different.

A little faerie chirps on the other side of the chess board, trying to lift one of the pieces near her and obviously failing if the way her body gets pulled down with the piece is any indication.]

Hey, hey. Careful or you'll hurt yourself.

[He reaches to help her and the faerie puffs her cheeks and pouts at him, wings beating as fast as a hummingbird's as she lowers the piece and crosses her arms, making him chuckle and shake his head before returning his attention to the network.]

I didn't think they were actually able to do it. Bring us things from home I mean.

[Terra holds a piece up, then places it down.]

I'm set up in the library if anyone is up for a game. Strong minds are equally as important as strong bodies.

[He then inclines his head.]

Unless you're looking for getting your butt kicked in the more physical sense, I'll be down in the training grounds later.

[And the feed ends.]

[She knows she must be serious, but she is still riding the high of those she cares most about being better, as well as most everyone else, and so while Flora is composed and elegant, her posture perfect, her smile she wears is very genuine.]

Greetings everyone,

For those that don't know me, my name is Flora, and I am a Marchioness of the White Citadel. It seems the worst of that curse is over, and it was very wonderful to see everyone doing their best to help one another, including the natives, even if they are not the most receptive at times. [With things are they are, it's just good to see the noble selflessness they are meant to embody even if it has nothing to do with being Seelie and everything to do with each individual as they are.]

But, I know I'm not the only one wondering about how this all started. All sorts of things happen here, and often, but this wasn't like past occurrences. [Even if things can get very wild here, there have usually been reasons for it, and she believes there might be one here, too. She can accept that there are things that cannot be solved, but she needs to get to that point first; in the meantime, she does not like not knowing things.]

This ended with our efforts, but started somewhere, and so if you could say when you noticed you were afflicted, that could be a big help. Some people, once cured, weren't able to catch it again, but this did not hold true for everyone and so we could be looking at another run of this. I'm offering twenty marks to whoever can find any substantial information on any of this, with discussion of more depending on the circumstances, mainly the apprehension of individuals who are proven to have had a hand in this with malicious intent, if such individuals exist.

[That she says more seriously. It's no small sum, being almost half of what many natives or shardbearers will make in a year. She's hoping that will prove enough incentive.]

If you've already done research on your own, I'll pay you for a copy, anyway. [she smiles lightly. she rich, ok, it's nbd.] As a marchioness, if you need me for anything, I can be reached by this compass, or at the Citadel. There's a Seelie fairy ring from Caer Glaem that goes straight there.

Thank you very much for your time.

Well, now that that silver nonsense seems to be sorted out, I think we need to start talking about things we can actually fight back when they attack us.

[ About as direct a greeting into the topic of this message as you can get. Katsa sits somewhere outdoors, cross-legged in the grass with her locket angled to show the sky clear behind her: fitting for the mismatched colors of her eyes, unusually bright green and blue. ]

I know our High Majestic King and Queen [ the titles spoken with a hint of irony ] don't seem to care always how old someone is or how much experience you've with weapons or fighting when they decide to claim you. Whatever you think of this war, whether you'd rather run right into the Void right now or wait for it to come to you, everyone here should have the skills to unlock their own strength. It's better that you've the ability to jam a knife into a man's eyeball and never have to do it than find yourself at the end of an attacker's blade with no way to get out of it. You shouldn't have to rely on anyone else.

So I'll teach you if you've no experience of your own. I usually teach young girls—children—but I'll not turn my back if you need it. That includes how to use your shard—the thing that Seelie will try to take right out of your chest.

[ She moves to close the locket—then halts, fumbles, and picks something off the ground to hold flat in her palm to show anyone watching. ]

And what in the name of the Middluns am I supposed to do with this?

[ WHO HAS TURTLE CARE TIPS???? ]
