[When the video turns on, it's actually a small stream of what appears to be someone spinning the locket over and over in the palm of their hand. There's a small laugh that follows, along with a tone of disbelief.]

Not quite what I meant when I said I wanted a new cell phone.

[Give it a moment before the video rights itself to reveal a blonde boy wearing a hat and stretched out on a bench in the Bailey of Caer Glaem. He appears to just be regarding the locket thoughtfully before he continues.]

Okay! So…hi. [Yes, thank you Ryan.] I'm Ryan, and I'm gonna be honest here I'm still not sure I'm not just dreaming all of this. I've been told I have a pretty vivid imagination. [There's a lopsided grin that follows.]

I guess I'm just sort of curious. Is anybody happier to be here than wherever they came from? [He's also got the map the fairies gave him clutched in his hand and he sort of just waves it in the video feed.] …also anybody know how to read a map? ["Besides everyone but me?" It's a sheepish request and he doesn't particularly like asking, but why learn how to read a map when you come from a place where you have chauffeurs, a GPS, or a twin sister who drives a narcissism mobile? He'd always assumed he'd learn how to read maps during the summer before he went to college and that's still a few months off.] I want to check out the rest of these places but I'm not sure where to start. Thanks a lot.

[Feast Day, August 1st]

Life had been exhausting for Gendry, who had only returned for the final hours of the Feast. Much of the food had been picked clean, but that didn't stop Gendry from having a healthy portion of food on his plate. After days of eating the strange rations from Station, he was glad for real food. Even gladder to not be sitting on a horse. He was still stiff from his injury and he was still wearing an inside-out black T-Shirt and blue jeans acquired at the Station. The hall was emptier than it had been earlier in the day and even the music seemed to have dropped its tempo. All the same, he had his eyes out for familiar faces.

[Caer Glaem, August 2nd (and onward)]

Injured or not, work was still work. He'd changed into his more familiar working clothes and had at last heated up the fires of the forge again. His hammer blows were not as heavy as usual as he began construction on a new sword for his uncle. But even if he could not work as hard as he usually did, it was satisfying to be working at all. This was where he belonged, not training with treacherous foxes or playing strange games of war on magical windows. Here, in the forge, he knew exactly who he was and what he was doing and could pour his heart and soul into his work.

To his great irritation, whenever he was not working, he was being hounded by a small fairy who would carry a children's book many times her own size in a desperate attempt to get him to read it. Frustrated, she'd taken to just dropping the book on his heads and darting away before he could throw it back at her. Other times if he was at a table eating, she would stand in front of his plate and start going through the alphabet (and once even jumping on the plate to make letters out of corn kernels, until he pushed her away with a fork.) His agitation was continuing to grow with each day, but he had not relented! He would not be learning to read from this bloody fairy!

[Audio (both courts), August 2nd]

I don't know many people here yet, but I'm Gendry. I work the forge in Caer Glaem. I will be for awhile, actually. I've plenty of work that needs doing. But when I'm done with that work, I've been invited along to this place called Troichean Beinn. [He even pronounces it correctly! That's the benefit of never reading. You get all your words from other people.] It's the city of the dwarves and I'll be allowed to learn from them.

I don't know when I'll be leaving there. But I thought I might see if there were others who had a mind to go there. It's a long trip away, as there's no fairy rings close to it. But I'd be glad for the company.

[After a few seconds hesitation, he closes the locket. It was a humbling and humiliating thing having to ask for company, especially for someone who liked his solitude. But he didn't fancy any kind of journey alone. Not for the risk of danger, but because he realized that unless he was working, he hated being alone with his thoughts.]

It's a odd sort of magic here, though I can't say I'm completely unfamiliar with it. It nearly reminds me of the place I was taken from-- if perhaps the Children were not forced beneath the ground.

[She hums. She hasn't talked much of the Children of the Forest, though she thinks on them often now that she's here.]

I've heard others speak on the magic of their homes, and I'm interested to know more. I've been granted abilities at the behest of my liege lord, a word spoken and magic formed. It is useful, far more than even I could imagine. Has anyone else been granted similar things here? To what ends is this magic capable of? Either here or where we've come from.

( locked to Stark allies )

With the fairy rings open, I would like to explore more of this place, to learn what we can of this place-- war aside, it seems we shall be here for a long time. Should more allies arrive, I would like to be equipped to travel to bring them back.

If any would like to come with me, I was thinking of making several trip out.

( Eddard Stark )

If it be okay with you.

[Lancelot, standing on the edge of a riverbed, had traveled north after the battle for the Silmaril by himself. Realizing that it would have constituted a sort of abandonment of his post, he decided to let Ganondorf know what he was doing.]

Members of the Unseelie and Seelie courts. I have a warning for you. I, the Knight of the Lake, have been recruited to aid the Dryads of La Llorona in the defense of Fairy-held safe havens throughout the realm. As such, I will eliminate any enemy to them I come across. If you have information on those who threaten such realms, send messages to me. I will end such offenders.

That is all.

[Lancelot added a second message to Ganondorf, specifically.]

[PRIVATE/TEXT/TO: GANONDORF]

My lord. My true upbringing stems from the support of the fey. In this, I'm indebted to them to protect their lands and their well-being.

In this, I will be working to restore one of their Glens, so it may flourish in the wake of battles that had sundered it. Despite this, I will always be available for your sake. Please, do not hesitate to call upon my aid if necessary. My response will be ever swift.

D'you reckon if I asked nicely, I could find some caramel biscuits 'round here?

[she starts off the recording unceremoniously, giving her locket a squinty sort of look. it'd be a lie to say she can pretend she's on the phone or a walkie, but least it's less weird. and considering she's walked into the fucking land of the fairies, she can do with less weird.]

I'm not fussed about the brand or nothing, but I don't want anything their sort makes. Couldn't compare to a freshly opened box of 'em, could it? The food's fine, but I want biscuits, not fairy dust. I know you can get loads of cakes if you ask, [which is dead strange] but I'm not talking about anything fancy. Bit too sweet, anyway, if you ask me.

[and then she exhales. magic lockets. now she's seen everything.]

This had better be working. If someone's having me on about these stupid things — don't suppose they'd come with instruction manuals.

[now she just sounds like her dad, but at least she can decipher one better than he can.]

[He's been toying with the idea of video for about an hour; but he's taken the contacts out for now, and he's too aware that Jem might pick up her locket and see him. And so, he goes with voice. ]

So, fairies. That's - that's great.

[Now that he's got this locket working, he's not actually sure what to say. 'Hi! I'm Kieren, I like the Ramones and long walks through the graveyard'? Christ. ]

Listen, I'm still a bit overwhelmed. If overwhelmed is the right word to use. I've been through some pretty weird shit, but this really takes it to a whole new level.

[A beat. ]

My name's Kieren. I was hoping someone might be able to make some sense out of this? If that's even possible.
