[To anyone familiar with Damon's office in Raven's Wing (or who's gotten a call from him while he's been in it), they'll recognize the surroundings as the locket clears and the video is visible. He's even wearing a smile, though it's a little worn around the edges.]

Still here, much to the dismay of some of you, I'm sure. But it seems that whatever the cause, not only was I brought back to this whole new world, but so were my holdings. The spire, the town, the Oasis... yes, kiddies, you heard that right. Your favorite vacation spot is still up and running. For those of you with hunks of that stupid rock in their chest still, access is as easy as stepping through a fairy ring. For those without... I'm just finishing up the new port, as it seems that our location has shifted dramatically.

[The image bounces as Damon gets up, moving out of the office and over to the balcony. He shifts the locket so that those looking through it can see.]

Yes, that's right, that's the ocean you see. Because I'm now on an island in the middle of goddamn nowhere. Well, not exactly nowhere, but for anyone that's ever been north, living on an island that's a desert climate when there's an iceberg in spitting distance is... a little odd. But, for anyone who needs it, The Oasis is here for your rest and relaxation needs. We're still set up for those with a more hemoglobin diet, including underground residences, and as the only staff I've dragged with me was Fernando, I could use more workers. Pass the word around. I have.

[There may have been notices slapped up in outlying towns on the larger mainlands, Damon able to travel quickly via both fairy ring and his flock form. But the call had ulterior motives.]

Anyone else that is maybe wondering what happened or where I am... well, now you know.

[There's an amused smirk playing on his face.]

I'll take the help if you can find something suitable for someone like myself.

I'm sorry, you must have misheard 'annoyed vampire' and somehow mistranslated it to 'perky realtor'.

[One makes its home on Damon's as well, and the annoyed vampire in question headed back inside to his desk, reaching for his everpresent flask to sip from.]

[Arthur doesn't actually care, and he even vaguely imagines that Damon and Green Lantern would get into some entertaining fights.

But that's none of his business.]

You need help. I need help. Somehow, I think we can work something out.

[It was the mention of reciprocal possibilities that had the worst of what he could say stilling on his tongue.]

[And honestly, he could've probably handled those if he decided to continue. The perks of being a king.]

What kind of work do you have, or what do you need help with? Because I need an isolated place, somewhere far enough but close or in the ocean for me to train without hurting people. [Or wrecking the place, but that seems heavily implied.] From what I know about nonhumans, you can probably do a lot more than most.

Are you aware of The Oasis? I always need workers there; a desert springs vacation spot for those who... want a moment. But as you seem all... watery, there'll be a port here as well and since I'm not Nautical Nelly, someone that's more seadog than me wouldn't be a bad thing. I'd say that's close to the ocean. Seems some of the mountains came with us, so we've got a bit of an eclectic assortment of landscape here, but it's desert climate for all that we're knocking boots with an iceberg.

[He hums, considering everything. Despite the desert, it's not actually smack dab in the middle of the desert like that one time.

Two times? Probably more. There's saltwater nearby and he needs to make himself useful before he goes stir crazy.]

You can get to the spire via fairy ring and we can discuss the terms of your employment. Docks need a.. what, master? Hell, I was never into that crap back home. Whatever they need, I need one for it. If you want the job, it's yours.

I'll take a look. It might be worth having a defense from the ocean too, if we're anticipating anything from below the surface.

[But he'll leave that there.]

Should I expect a vampire's welcome upon arrival?

Only if you want one. I have a strict rule here about no munching on tourists or staff. We have places set up for those of the life-challenged to get donations or pay for favors. The ones that step over that line don't get to do it twice.

[Guess who was a pretty hardass baron?]

[... Interesting. There won't be trouble unless it's warranted here. Though he imagines Damon wouldn't get very far, given the whole near bulletproof thing going with his skin.]

Good to know there's still some discipline here.

[Near bulletproof isn't bulletproof. =|]

It goes against my nature, but as I run a resort, it's just bad business for the tourists to get munched on.

And we can't have negative PR, right?

[That's probably a good thing. Superman seems lame to hang out with.]

Depends on the... incident. I'm perfectly fine being seen as willing to fix the problems of my town and my business. Not so fine with being seen as inept and incapable of running things. I'd much rather people realize when I say something, I mean it. Even if it sounds ludicrous. Something to keep in mind if you plan on winding up here.

There's rooms at the inn if you like, or we can have a captain's loft built down near the docks, one that's over your office -- if you take the job.

[He's alright. Kind of stubborn. Had to punch him once to get him to listen. It was an interesting time.

He could respect Damon's words, at least. He wasn't one for idle threats either.

Which is exactly why Superman ended up getting suckerpunched by him then frozen and electrocuted by his half-brother.]

Now you sound like you're really trying to sell me the job. When do you need me to start?

Whenever you can get here. We can set up plans for the docks over dinner, if you're amenable. Then you can do your sweaty sea work and I'll do my spoiled baron work.

[transmarine]

In a few days' time, I can get there. Then I'll leave you entirely to your spoiled baron work.

My favorite kind of employee; one that doesn't want to be friends.

I'm sure you have no shortage of those already.

Who needs friends when I have Fernando?

[There was a scoff from off-screen, but Damon grinned.]

We'll figure out the details when you're here. If I'm not around, Fernando will know where to find me.

[transmarine]

Sounds like we have a plan. I'll see you in a few days, then.

[withbite]

I should be here. If I'm not, Fernando will be and will know how to reach me.

[Likely via the raven familiar that would be bopping around town, not that Arthur knew that.]

Then I'll trust Fernando if you trust him. Until then, we'll keep in touch should anything arise.

[His answer was a salute and a smirk before Damon moved to end the transmission.]
