[Maybe you've seen this punkass, maybe you haven't. He was kind of a wild thing in battle, hard to miss if you saw a lot of enemies floating in midair. Somehow, he doesn't look injured, not even a single scratch. The scar across his brow is an old one, from a time long past.

Dante's not one to mince his words, so...]

Alright, would anyone mind telling me what the fuck is really going on? First we're two pissed-off frat house that can't share a campus, now we're twenty invite-only clubs? And all of that because we wished upon a fucking rock?

[The expression on his face says he's clearly buying none of it. He's a stubborn one.]

I want answers. Real answers, not whatever fairyland shit you can come up with.

Yeah, the gem's decided to make us do its dirty work, apparently, instead of finding some other way to grant our wishes. [Is he bitter? Yes, yes he is, since he's still here, and it's not over, and to top it all off the one person he cares about more than anything has gone home.

It's hard to not feel incredibly cynical right now. And he was usually cynical anyway, but only when it came to people, he'd always hoped he could change things.] Apparently now we get the chance to change history so there's never any Seelie or Unseelie, and stop the Void before it becomes a threat. Except we could get it wrong, like people always do in all the time travel movies.

[Not that he isn't going to try, of course, as it seems the best way to get home. The gem had already shown them it was capable of sending them back to their worlds.]

You're a ray of sunshine, aren't you.

[But he supposes Mr Brightside over there has a point: they could fuck it up again now that they have a blank slate. But he's more than determined not to let that happen,

Still, it doesn't sit well with him that they're all still stuck here against their will.]

We could get it right, too. It'd be a lot worse if we didn't try at all.

Just don't have much faith in people. Yeah, there's some good ones here, but I'm thinking more about the monarchs and the courts and how much they seem to like fighting each other.

[He doesn't feel the need to elaborate further on his lack of good mood. And he'd be a lot happier about being here and doing this if he could still go home whenever he wanted, even if it was only for short periods of time.]

I never said I wouldn't try. It's probably the only way to get home. And I do think we can change things here, just might make some mistakes first, we'll have to be careful. [A beat, then:] It's harder to change history when you don't know what led up to the things you're trying to change. [Someone among their number might know, though, maybe multiple someones. And he knows he ought to start looking, or bring the matter to Javik to see what the Red Hand will be doing about it.

He misses Kieren, yes, he misses him very, very much, but sitting around feeling sad and bitter about it is not going to get him back home any faster. He has to think of how much happier Kieren must be now, being home with his family, and remember that time passes differently here, so he isn't going to miss anything while he's not there.]

[Dante frowns at what he says. Sure, people are pretty shitty, but demons are worse. There's a lot of good ones too, the ones that don't deserve the Hell from his home, the ones that get locked up for seeing and knowing too much. He couldn't imagine how Kat withstood any of it and kept herself sane for so long. Did she fight to prove her humanity too?]

Isn't that what books are for?

[Not that he's a reader, mind you, but he feels like that's something his twin would say.]

And you're not giving people enough credit.

[Dante doesn't like most people on premise, but to say that they can't do good things... He's learned already about the best and the worst of people. And the very worst of them were never human in the first place.]

[Sadly in Simon's case it's the other way around; it's the non-humans in his world who are mostly alright--he's not bias or anything, being one of them, nope--but the humans who proved themselves to be the absolute worst time and time again.

But that's his world, not the Drabworld. People here have been kind and understanding, mostly. But that doesn't make them perfect, there's still forces beyond everyone's control here. And people might still get caught up in court conflicts.]

Yeah, but only if some of us remember what they said, or if any came back with us. It'd be a good question to start asking. [He'd have to do that. He hadn't spent as much time as he would've liked in the Unseelie library... He also didn't entirely trust the history books in there. Not that the Seelie library would've been much better, of course.]

Haven't really got a lot of faith in people. [He pauses, shaking his head.] Only the ones here've always surprised me. [Which... yeah he should give them more credit. He's not feeling entirely hopeful at the moment, certainly not as hopeful as he'd felt before this all happened. Being teased with getting to go home and then getting sent back here without the person you care about will do that.]

They're not all that bad.

[Isn't that why he fights back in the first place? To defends the humans that don't even know what's happening? He fought first to survive, then he fought to get rid of the demons, to stop them from preying on anyone that crossed their path. None of them ever understood, though. He was a terrorist and a murderer, to put it mildly.

It was his price to pay. He'd come to terms with being a killer a long time ago.]

Some of the best people I know are humans.

[Again, he thinks of Kat. He admires her, rightfully so: she escaped her reality by diving into Limbo, then she killed the demon that posed as her adoptive father. Dante would've done that, too, but he had a sword since he could remember.

How she did it is her story and her mystery. All of this, he has to get back, just to save her. Sure, they had to kill the demon brainwashing their world, but Kat...

This was as much for her too, who took the fall for the twins when she could've given up.]

I'm guessing you're the more people person of us two.

[A change of subject, but it's probably true. Dante doesn't really know how to... be nice.]
