[Loki and Hiro have taken a small room in Diasbaile, mostly barren save for the wooden cabinets that seem to blend into the background. Loki would have done this himself, but there was insistence on Hiro's part of aiding in the delivery of the very, very bad news. The focus is on the two of them, and Loki speaks first.]

Hello.

This is a message of the emergency broadcast system. As you can see, our sirens are down for the moment, but I assure you that the news is none less dire.

[Loki's voice drops to something uncharacteristically serious.]

Ah, yes. So—listen up, Unseelie.

[Hiro's sitting almost a little too close to Loki, face more ashen than anyone in their court has ever seen. It's a reality they have to face and while he'd been hoping Loki would find some more information in his research, they're running out of time.]

Some of you had a vision at the beginning of August. A dream about fire and machines with shards for eyes. I didn't have the vision myself, Loki did…but we can both confirm these are real. These things are being created now and they are coming. Monsters that run on shards and blood. But there are some things you guys don't know yet.

[When Hiro stops, Loki barely glances down before he picks up without missing a beat, as if he's giving him a moment to collect himself. Loki looks perturbed at the recollection of the golems, but not nearly as pale as Hiro.]

Our dear friends the dwarves have crafted mechanical monsters, forged from melted metal and living shards. These mecha-beasts are brought to live with blood magic and runes. Not your basic run-of-the-mill runes, not even my fancy-smancy "stay out of my room" runes, but hundreds of them in intricate designs—sorcery that's very possibly lost to antiquity—all working together to bring them to life.

And if that isn't nightmare material, these large, metal machinations have keen senses when it comes to shardbearers, even those that find means of hiding themselves, if you get my drift.

There are hundreds, even thousands of them, with no exaggeration.

[The longer they stay on camera, the more Hiro finds himself shrinking into his sweater. Loki delivering the brunt of the bad news helps, but dredging up the memories is more than mildly horrifying. There's one key factor though that they've neglected to mention.]

We don't know when they're coming, but judging by the amount of time between the last vision and its turnaround to coming true, it's soon. Really, really soon. We don't know when they're coming and we don't know the full extent of what they can do or why they're being unleashed.

[A pause.] Ideas. We need ideas on how we can combat these things and how to keep everybody safe. Start using your brains and focus on what's really important here.

[The important thing, he thinks, is that this war? It's much, much bigger now than just Seelie vs. Unseelie. It's now about just staying alive.]

I would suggest highly against approaching them… [Loki glances at Hiro.] …As I’m certain we’ll offend them somehow.

[Considering the fact that there are other things…he can agree with that.] …right. Defense ideas then. Lay 'em out. [A beat. And then:] Privately, if you would. Doesn't matter if they're coming for all of us…this is still a war.

[And he sure does know that there are certain devices generated by a certain witch that can see this broadcast. He had agreed that the Seelie should know what's coming. Doesn't mean they should be privy to everything else, too.]

Not exactly how I pictured life in a giant robot series, hm?

[Though that’s meant more for Hiro. They have some questions to answer, and Hiro needs a little bit of a perk up.]

[Hiro at least gives a small grin in response, but says nothing else. Definitely Q&A time.]

[ooc: As a note! Most threads will be answered by Hiro, but he may call on Loki for assistance. Additionally, Hiro is aware Hermione's compasses can see posts on both networks so those with compasses are capable of seeing this post. They just won't be able to see the threads in this post. [He shakes his head. Normally he'd be a little huffy or launch into an explanation of things, but for now...this is a little more pressing.]

Not sure we'd believe it either if we hadn't seen them with our own eyes. And technology and sorcery can be mixed together by guys who know what they're doing like the dwarves. [Or Hiro, in some cases, with some things. It's a stretch, but he's trying.]

Normally they override each other, but the dwarves know a specific kind of magic to make this possible. That's the problem.

Sir Lancelot knew the sorcery of the dwarves a little better than I, but... [ He's gone now, like the rest. ]

I can try to think back and see if anything passed between him to me. [ It's a stretch, speaking in a vague manner without providing much of an explanation to the boy. Servants and Masters often shared things between them as their pact grew strong--and Rin herself was a powerful Master. The spiritual link between them had been strong indeed, but filtering through what she knew compared to what he had known was a chore. ]

[He never met Lancelot, so the look he gives her is one that's a little confused even as he nods along. Any help they can get at this rate is good help.]

That'd be awesome if you could. [He has no idea what she's implying. Maybe someday someone will really explain Fate/howthehell to him.] I think we have enough time for that. I know we want to look into a couple more things ourselves, too.

[Of course then he actually tunes into the way she phrased it.] Wait you mean like if he actually taught you anything about it?

Not intentionally. [ She sighs a bit at that, knowing that if she had asked, he would have. ]

Are you familiar with what a Servant is--a Heroic Spirit, that is? I need to know how brief to make this explanation.

Uh. [Well that's a no. Not unless you count the kind of things he's probably seen in anime, but the specific term isn't entirely familiar.] Gimme the brief rundown and I'll fill in the blanks myself. [For example:] I'm gonna guess that means Lancelot was yours?

[ Isn't he a little young to be watching Master/Servant anime?? ] Yes, that's right.

Lancelot wasn't from my time or our's, he was a copy of the valiant knight that had become a hero due to his deeds--or in the case of some other spirits, the ideals and beliefs of the people who believed in them. Their entire being was sent to rest dormant in the Throne of Heroes, a place existing outside of both the world and the time axis so they could be called forth at any given place or time. Not that there are many heroes in current time. As of the 21st century, the most recent Heroic Spirits are from one hundred years prior--oh, but I'm rambling.

A spirit needs a Master to not only bind them to a plane of existence, but to help support them as magical energy is needed to sustain them as well as strengthen their abilities. It's a very mutual relationship for the most part.

However since there exists a spiritual link between ghost and human, things tend to pass off onto one another. I used to have dreams about his past. [ Which was super awkward. ]

More importantly, I know how to use a forge even though I've never used one. There's no telling what else passed between us that I'm unaware of. It's fascinating really.

[ Though not entirely helpful unless someone pokes her in the right direction. ]

[Excuse, he's a whopping 16 years old now. He's very quiet as he absorbs what she's saying, not at all lost on the connections. Had she tried to explain this to him when he first arrived in the Drabwurld he would have written it off as stupid and probably impossible. With everything he knows now and the people he's met, this makes more sense than most things.

It also makes total sense that Rin's a Master. Of course she is.]

How's it mutualistic if it's a lot of your own energy being pumped into them to boost their stats? [He's not discounting what she says, but genuinely curious. The rest of that does sound troublesome though. He's hoping she benefits more than just the spiritual link.]

It is kinda cool to think about though. [Because that knowledge paired with what Rin might already know...she has a good shot of having an answer.] We'd really appreciate your help if you could think back and find out if Lancelot picked up anything from the dwarves.

[ Rin doesn't want to think about what sixteen year old boys watch. ]

It varies from Servant to Servant. Lancelot kept watch over me and believed in my causes, so if I needed a bit of muscle to get something done, I could rely on him. [ Plus he kept the Barrel safe.]

I know that he was an apprentice of a dwarf named Gret? I'm not sure how Gret would react towards a Shardbearer his pupil was loyal to, but I could try to seek him out for answers.

[Nodding along, he doesn't have much to argue that. It would make sense depending on the Servant and also on the Master themselves. In a way it's sort of nice to know that Rin did have someone like that tied to her and looking out for her, even if he'd never met the guy.

On the other hand, his reaction to the news about Gret is a little bigger as his eyes grow wider and he seemingly pushes his face closer to the camera of the locket.] Dude, I don't know if going to Gret's a good idea when he might be the one behind all of this. Lancelot wasn't the only apprentice Gret had and they still kicked everybody out. [Then again...] How long was Lancelot working with him? Do you remember?

I don't know... I think they were working before I ever came to the world?

[ Possibly for some time after. This is what happens when you don't keep an eye on your ghost that you've made a pact with. ]

Geez, they kicked everyone out? It may be a good idea to stay away from him in that case. [ As much as she doesn't want to, Rin's not stupid enough to dive headfirst into trouble. While she feels as if she should pick up what Lancelot left behind, she also knows that this may be a situation where it's not feasible. ]

And you've been here even longer than I have so who knows how long that really is. Alice said it was sometime around Samhain two years ago after a bunch of other stuff happened in this world, but it's too loose of a timeframe to really know.

[And now he sort of wishes he'd known that a while ago. He could have asked Lancelot himself about stuff regarding the dwarves before he disappeared.]

They started kicking everybody out in August and locked their gates. Why do you think I took Loki? [Less of an invitation and more of "Loki helped us break into places we weren't allowed."] Thing is we don't know if they're going to stay locked up, or if it'll be even worse and they just pretend that they did nothing and they're going to try and blindside us. They don't really get the whole shardbearer thing and just kinda offer to take them from us...but now it's less of an offer and more of a force. Whole thing sorta puts us back at square one and it's why I was hoping to find somebody on our side that might have hints of how to disable them.
