I. Video, Unseelie locked
[Shunsui was still a bit wary of aiding in a war effort that didn't much concern him. There was a war going on back home, after all, and he needed to be there rather than here, fighting an enemy he still knew very little about and for a cause that he didn't truly care much for.
Still, as a Shinigami, maintaining the balance between the realms was incredibly important, even here. And it looked as though he couldn't return home anyway.
So he figured he'd use the strange communication device on his locket - how he missed his Soul Phone! Texting emoticons to Ukitake and to Nanao-can on a regular basis was so much fun - but he could make do, he figured.]
Please forgive me for not introducing myself to the Court sooner. My name is Kyouraku Shunsui, and I thought it might be time to aid in the training by offering my tutelage to anyone who might like to take lessons with me. I have over a thousand years of swordsmanship training and experience, as well as hand to hand combat. I am also able to use a spell from my homeland, a way of binding an opponent, but sadly this seems to be the only spell I am capable of here.
Please do let me know! Or if you'd simply like to meet up for a drink and talk things over, I'm more than willing to make that a reality as well!
[And with that and a cheeky grin, he signed off.]

[Its not quite a question, but not entirely a statement either. Despite having been spirited away to Faerie, the skepticism is still strong with this one. Aka Richard thinks you're probably full of crap and does it ever show.]

[Because covering for himself was a good thing. Probably.]

[Richard's nothing if not to the point. It's the military commander in him coming out again. The need to know details and categorize people into 'useful' and 'not.']

The military branch I was part of was a protection force charged with protecting the innocent from attacks by much more powerful forces skilled in means of battle their targets had no knowledge of.
[He gave only the facts, since that seemed to be what this guy was after, and he saw no need to be rude!]

No, even with his wealth of knowledge, it's impossible. There are plenty of one-eyed women, and he could always be a spirit that gained sentience upon reaching a hundred years old, but... to stick around for thousands? Even kitsune have only been recorded with nine tails, making this man-spirit-creature older than them. Plus, they're very sloppy drunks.
...And hairy or not, the man certainly doesn't resemble an ape.]

[ you know. it's respectful disbelief. the kind that won't make spirits jump out of lockets and eat your face. ]
But with a name like that, could it be you're also from Japan?

[If one could call the afterlife a part of Japan. Which, he supposed one could, if they happened to be reaching.
But luckily, Momosuke wasn't completely wrong. Shunsui happened to be a very sloppy drunk!]
Not jesting, but yes, a bit of hyperbole to catch attention. With so many messages floating around on this thing, I figured the best thing I could do would be to say something outrageous to make people listen.
[Completely untrue, of course, but...well. He couldn't just announce his status as a death god to all and sundry. At least not without some sort of cover!]

[ Okay, Momosuke. Big choices here. Do you want to believe you're talking to someone ancient or do you want to think you're talking to a big jokester? He's talking about binding spells and drinking. He... He's clearly a harmless...
Let nobody say our good author has a survival instinct. ]
--Never mind. I'm glad to meet someone else who might understand the culture shock. Where did you practice before you were spirited here, Mr. Swordsman?
VIDEO.

[ the whole thousand years thing doesn't seem to bother him at all. ]

A thousand years, is it?
Mmmyes, I would hear that particular story
