Unseelie & Hermoine-net Compass
[The device turns on--Vanessa looks...more relaxed, somehow. Her hair is down about her shoulders, a bit wild. From the angle, it seems she is lounging on something. Giving a little smile, she stretches, then speaks, her voice a bit more melodic than normal.]
A wise man once said, "Though a quarrel in the streets is a thing to be hated, the energies displayed in it are fine; the commonest man shows a grace in his quarrel."
I have been thinking on such words. Should we be considered graceful, in the war we make? The battles, the fights...each are bloody. There is something beautiful in it, is there not? In death. In the pale, bloodless wake that is left once life has been completely drained.
[She smiles, a curious, almost mocking innocent look in her eyes.]
Flesh torn, limbs lopped from their owners. The shards dimmed and ripped from chests...and those without becoming fodder for the Void.
Such a trail of dead, all of us do. Such things must trouble your conscious, do they not?
Even if such a thing shouldn't.
[She lets out a sigh, and reaches off camera to grab a glass of wine, before bringing it to her lips, sipping.]
Regardless, I thought I should offer an invitation to strangers and friends alike, to come visit me.
We could have such fun, you and I.
[ooc: if you want more info go here! Log will go up later tonight/tomorrow if you want to participate in that.]

And one day you will bring the end of the world. Strange, you fight for the Unseelie.

My days as a doombringer ended with the Ragnarok cycle.
[ there's a pause, and a breath of possible amusement. ]
Did you really want to talk about me?
no subject
Just as I am Vanessa, and am not.
[She chuckles.]
There will be another cycle. You will have to take your place again.
And yes, I did. You and I...we aren't that different.

I will not sit well in any box made for me.

You have made shackles for yourself, Loki.

Or do you think I do not know of the young soul you took. The body you are masquerading in.
[And a voice she mimics]
"But if something bad was happening, and it had to happen, and if it didn't happen, something even worse would happen...what would you do?"

I don't know what you're talking about.
[ but he does.
he does so painfully. the memory that activated his shard, the one that he keeps close to remind himself that the people here don't see him as the murderous copy that he was that day.
that he still is.
he won't give her the satisfaction of making him look uneven. ]

[She sees the face, and smiles.]
It's sad, really. That he never had a chance.
But you did as I do. We can't help our natures.
We always win.

he had made that clear, but not in the way that he would have suspected. that Loki, the child Loki, had the luxury of dying as himself. and here, in the center of the multiverse, redundancy looms ahead of him. maybe he'll become something he hates again. ]
What are you hoping to accomplish, here?

And while she might not remember. I know all.
And I'm always waiting.

[ he says a little too hotly than he meant to come across. ]

...perhaps I should go talk to your brother.
He doesn't know you murdered the one he brought back. The one he nurtured. The one he betrayed Odin for.
And instead, the snake coils within the frame of the second chance.

I'm capable of keeping my own affairs in order without your nebulous brand of meddling.
[ he's recovered, but he hasn't admitted to anything. no, he won't. not like this. it was the snake comment that grounded him, that kind of familiar barb that he was so used to hearing. ]
Besides, I think you'll find yourself at a loss for tearing the Unseelie apart from the inside. It seems counter-intuitive. Best to keep the broad priorities in order.
[ his voice is almost scathing now, the timbre dropped to something low and caustic while his accent licks at his words. ]

Your Order.
You are chaos, Loki. Be what you are, instead of what you wish you could be.
You killed what you could be.
[As long as he keeps talking, she'll keep goading him.]
Giving advice, now?
video/private
Loki is chaos, and there are other Lokis that you speak of that were the same.
That's not all I am.
video/private
It isn't the truth.
video/private
[ he says that all too hotly before cutting the feed. ]
