( Today, she is beautifully dressed in a gown of dark green, and her hair is braided in a crown about her head, with some loose curls falling past her shoulders. Appearance is everything today, when she has such a request to make. It is not as humbling as she might have expected, to be in such a position as to need to ask for aid; perhaps it is because it is not for her, personally.

But rather an endeavour which may benefit all. Carefully, at first, she smiles, an expression which gains warmth after a few seconds. )

I greet all of you well. And pray that all of you are doing all right. Sadly, as we are all keenly aware, such a state will not long be enjoyed by many of our native brethren. The Void would consume Leathann, and I commend the great efforts being made by all to keep it at bay.

Yet the isle of Briste to the north is in similarly dire straits, and I would make a great effort there to see their people saved from death, if the Void is not stopped ere it might swallow the isle. I know not if raising it might be viable option; rather, I have struck up an overture, a dialogue with their Council of elders.

My hope is this: that we might relocate the people to a settlement on the coast of the mainland here. If I might secure their trust and blessing to do so, I will lead their people to the head of the North road. There, I propose a settlement be built, which may in time grow into something greater.

I would do this myself, but I lack the funds to. Thus I appeal to you all: please, aid me in this. I will either repay you in turn or owe you a favour later, for certain. I would not ask for donations unless it is within your wisdom to provide one. Either way, you would bear my eternal gratitude for this.

These people may be hesitant to trust us, but they deserve a better fate than that which awaits them if we do naught.

Ah, yes! The flying ships! ( For a moment, she appears as excited and buoyant as a child. Such an invention is naught less than a marvel in her eyes. ) I think that would be very important, lady.

And as for Leathann, that matter troubles me, as well. Would that a way to slay this Void might be found, so as to spare these people such toil.

As for Leathann, people are researching solutions, but I doubt it'll be easily solved.

I know not whether the land may be saved, but the people certainly can be. efforts in both Leathann and Briste can benefit many. I simply hope the lot of us may peacefully coexist without tensions flaring.

( Hope? That's not anywhere near approaching good enough, and so she squares her shoulders and tips her chin up in renewed resolve. )

We shall simply need to ensure than they do not. Tell me: might we use your flying ship for some time? Certainly it is the best option for transporting people, but now that I think on it, such a method would be ideal for ferrying supplies as well.

I've ferried people and supplies, but if you're going to tie up my business for some time, I would need to be compensated.

[She's not a charity, unfortunately for Elizabeth.]

Of course. ( No; she well understands that. ) How much would that cost, madam?

Depends on the number of trips and the distance.

I see. ( That wasn't an answer, and it's irksome. The time factor might not be known, but the distance certainly is. Elizabeth says naught further on the subject. )

[Chloe raises a brow. No answer? Chloe thinks that basic knowledge one must have if hiring a courier.]

Do you not know how many people you wish to transport?

[Or is she unaware of the number of people she's trying to save? Chloe smiles with a bit of amusement.]

You may not need to worry so much. I've spent a lot of time in Briste. The people there are hardy and more than capable when it comes to navigating the sea. I'll bet they can sail to the mainland of their own accord if they wish it. But they're also as stubborn as old sea dogs. You're going to have to grow some balls if you plan to convince them to go. They're just as likely to wait for the Void to appear on their doorstep and spit in its face.

[Clearly she likes the people of Briste judging from her tone.]

I have a rough figure of the size of the isle's populace, yes. However, it remains a mystery as to just how many will actually be willing to leave their homeland.

( That effort is very much a work in progress. Bess is attempting to build things ahead of time to act as an incentive; so they won't drag their feet at the idea of having to rebuild on their own in a foreign land. She sighs quietly, smiling a very little at the notion of just how stubborn and bull-headed these people are while admiring them for it.

But then, her face turns pale, and she sighs again. )

That might require time they do not have, lady. I have seen the Void from the shores of the island myself. It is but a little further off than it is currently from Leathann's beach. Bu—

( Good lord! As pale as she'd been, she flushes scarlet now. ) Madam! That is unseemly. Be rest-assured that I will not cease my efforts. All I can do is offer them the choice; which in the end, will be theirs to make.

[Chloe laughs a little at the woman's propriety. They are total opposites, she thinks. At least in some ways.]

Here's hoping they make the smart choice, then.

We are most agreed, lady. I merely wish to secure a method of transport for those willing which will not take weeks at sea.
