In light of the decree given by the Black Shuck, I am seeking to try and create a database of banshee sightings, to try and help get teams of people or individuals out to the exact location and to give them a hand. To that extent, if anyone is willing to volunteer where they’re interested in heading, so that a note of it might be made and more ground can be be covered by others checking to see if an area has been seen to, please let me know. The goal is to organize something useful, so that this can be done as completely as plausible.
Thank you in advance for your help, and I wish you luck in your endevours.

Hi all. To make a long story short, with the temporary lax standards the Shuck has forced our monarchs to to take, I’m temporarily allowing Unseelie and Seelie alike into the Barrel to try and get this banshee task attended to in the most concise manner possible. I’m trying to collect all possible sightings, and I’ll be happy to pass on spots to check out for anyone who’s interested in restoring their voices.
Obviously for everyone’s safety I’m going to ask that those of you making use of the Barrel try and not go too far astray from the task before us. However, if you need a place for final farewells, I’m not exactly going to stop you either.
Please let me know if you have questions, otherwise I do look forward to seeing a number of you for a final round of cooperation before we have to get back to killing each other.
[ooc: Please let me know what network you're replying on. Also Barrel link for all your cooperation needs!]

I'm afraid to ask after examples from home, although curiosity sparks.
[Waver can't imagine it's pleasant, and he can respect not wanting to get into it.]
I am curious as to how this has come to pass to begin with. It's a very high thing indeed to meddle with a natural order likethis.

[ But she still isn't entirely a businesswoman. She knows Treun is safe, its trade with Leathann a comfort and a net to keep the poor from falling through the cracks. It will not stay that way, though. ]
As for home-- Imagine a side of the world you cannot touch, a place where spirits and demons dwell just beyond a thin curtain separating our world from theirs. Anything can happen there. They long to touch what we have, some curious, others greedy; some are twisted by what they desire, others are content to stay where they are.
And imagine, for a moment, that you are dropped into that place with no way out. Imagine that place changing to show you your greatest fear.
[ She sighs. ]
I wonder if they have screamed for so much death, now that the Void has come, that they have lost their voices along the way.

[Waver listens closely at the description. It sounds like nothing from the theories of magic back home. Those are all about precision and power, not spirits and demons and a landscape that acts as an ever shifting home of all sorts of imagery.]
That--[He swallows a lump that's built up in his throat.] I can see why it would be a source of magic, both great and terrible.
That sounds like a working theory. Perhaps it might be worth asking the Shuck? If there's a greater threat and this is a sign of it -- [It needs to be known. Everyone keeps murmuring about a Godswar.]

[ Lavellan pauses, uncertain how much more to say. He understands what she's saying, can weigh the dangers it presents. ]
Mages like me can enter that place when we dream but we were never meant to be there physically. I've been there twice now and have come back alive. I do not wish to return there a third time unless there is no other option. [ A pause. ] But you can see why mages like me would be hated and feared in my world. We can tap into power others cannot and leave ourselves open to terrible dangers in the process.
It is when we refuse to understand the unknown that it becomes dangerous.
[ And that is true in any world and under any circumstances, including the predicament they're all in now. ]
If I see the Shuck or if I have the opportunity, I will ask. At Samhain, I asked him about the fighting between the elves and the vampires. Perhaps he will extend more help now that it is one of his own...or perhaps this is a sign that he can't do anything more.

It sounds like walking through a swirl of power, but I think I'm simplifying. [He knows it.] And I can understand the logic, unfortunately, but condemn the impulse to hate. It sounds like your magic acts a potential door between worlds but-- all the more reason to study and understand.
That was kind of him to explain. [It seems a fair few folks Waver knows have had positive encounters with the Shuck.] What he can't do, maybe we can help with. More than just restoring voices - getting to the root cause. This feels like treating symptoms, truth be told.

[ She lets out a breathy sigh that turns into a quiet rumble of sardonic laughter. ]
I wish I could say I'm a healer. Chasing symptoms isn't something I'm too good at. Finding their voices will help, surely, but you're right; we need to find the reason. If the Shuck can't tell us, perhaps the path we take towards finding their voices will illuminate the reason why they lost them in the first place.

And to redirect all of that into the world. I feel like I'm about to go off and start asking about the discipline of learning magic, and that's for a very different time.
[So he'll withhold, for now.]
Even if the Shuck can offer a hint, then we'd be better off. It could help understand this godswar, and what else to expect. But all of that rests in his paws.

[ Assuming they don't screw it all up, but that's par for the course these days. ]
We're chasing a chasm of nothingness and now striving to halt gods in their tracks. Still, the sooner we can understand the godswar and take better steps to stop it in some way, then all the better.
[ A pause. ]
...Did you just make a dog pun?
no subject
[Screwing it up is just more reason to drink.]
I'll settle for understanding at this point. Somehow I think the wheels are already churning and making it impossible to stop.
[Oh. Someone caught that!]
--Maybe.
[The opportunity was there.]
